Variable-Speed Fan

MaxxFan Plus Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.

This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Plus

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Plus Dual Arms - Manual

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Plus Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Plus vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The vent also has a molded-in mounting flange that is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Then insert the MaxxFan Plus into the opening in the roof and mount the flange to the roof. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

MaxxFan Plus With FanMate Cover

For extra rain protection, install a MaxxAir FanMate vent cover (sold separately) using the molded mounting tabs located on the flange. The tabs are designed to align with the integrated brackets on the FanMate, allowing for a no-drill, tool-free installation. These tabs also have rubber inserts that prevent water from seeping in under the flange.

Well packaged. Great installation video. Only complaint is that it was delivered 4 days after anticipated date, that isn't shipper's fault. Installation was a snap after I removed all the old sealant, etc.Very pleased with this product.

by:

This vent fan helps a lot with keeping my 7x14 cargo trailer cool. Did a lot of modifications with my trailer especially insulating the ceiling and now with this fan makes it better and cooler. The lid is always open to let the heat out because i have the MaxxAir II cover so rain cant get in. Fan runs better with more or bigger airflow from the side vents when all doors are closed so i added the Redline II popup vent and it works great. Fan does not slow down.
Im glad i got this and will be purchasing again when i get another trailer.
Thanks ETrailer

I am very happy with this item it has been working flawlessly for me.

by:

I installed this fan in a home built camper that I filmed while building and posted the entire build on You Tube. The fan has help up perfectly and on low speed it will run a very long time with out recharging the battery. I have built five of these small campers and four of them have been equipped with this fan.

by:

Love this fan, use it to ventilate my Lance truck camper. Works really good when I'm cooking, etc. Installation was easy. Just make sure you have 12 volt power wires nearby. One of the better upgrades I've installed on my Lance.

by:

I havent hooked it up to power yet but the install was easy once I got the hole in the van the right size. I did opt for getting different hardware. I purchased machines screws and bolts, which worked much better than the wood screws the fan came with.

by:

Exactly what I need to remove heat and fumes from my trailer while traveling.

by:

This fan works great in our camper. I like the smoke colored lid, because it helps keep the bathroom cooler. The fan is strong and pulls out all heat, moisture and odor from the bathroom. I wish we had replaced our old fan sooner, this is a much better product!

A year later, this maxxfan vent is still working perfectly. We have had no troubles. I would definitely recommend.

by:

Overall, I think the fan is a great addition and improvement to my, or any, camper. I installed it in the bathroom to replace the typical small fan vent you get from a manufacturer. I only wish it was able to go in reverse so it could blow in air. This one only pulls out.

I am still satisfied with my purchase. The fan works great and is much quieter the the factory mini fan.

by:

Easy install and a huge upgrade compared to what came with our RV!

by:

I haven't had time to install it yet but it looks like a quality product

by:

I have used etrailer for years and continue to be impressed with their products, support and reasonable pricing. Recently installed a MaxxAir vent fan in my high top van and it is a fantastic fan. Great quality, quiet and powerful! Highly recommend etrailer and this product

I installed this vent in a FordTransit 250 which I am converting into a camper. The fan is awesome and works great

by:

Working on building a custom camper and this is just what I needed for a roof fan. Haven't installed it yet, but I did connect it up to a battery just to see how much air it would move. It's very quiet on speeds 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are a little noisier but it can really move a ton of air once its spun up that fast. I was really impressed with what this little fan can do.

Been working great. Weve had our camper out several times and this fan has been an integral part of keeping our space well ventilated.

by:

The MaxxFan roof vent arrived much faster than an anticipated. I havent installed it yet so can not comment on performance. etrailer is very easy to order from and great on explaining deatails about the items.

I have ordered several products from trailer and have been very pleased with each. The max air fan works great. It took me a bit to work up the nerve to cut a 14” by 14” hole in the roof of van but no worries, the installation went well.

Nice fit, very powerful, very adjustable, and much quieter than the unit that it replaced. Appears to have an option for a winter cover, based on some additional female sliding holes of some sort? that I know nothing about.

Gregory, Thank you for your review. This Maxxfan includes molded mounting tabs to install a FanMate vent cover. The FanMate part 955003 slips over the molding tabs and clips on to provide superior rain protection.

by:

I'm excited to install these vents. They arrived on time and in perfect condition. The box was heavy duty protecting the items from damage.

by:

Xcellnt Vent - Installed my vent a yr ago (long story), but only made it operational 10-2018, so I Very much like that it's manual, so i could open/close it without power. Best feature, dual lift arms. Able to drive with the vent open without the lid flapping "Very Stable". A great "Basic" fan vent without all fancy stuff like Rain Sensor, Thermostat, Variable Speed, like my last one that ends up not working after parts are no longer available. 4 speeds is enough. It's Quiet. Lifetime Lid Warranty "Awesome", my last one spider cracked from UV. Only option I'd like to see is "reverse". Doesn't feel like it's moving much air with the lid closed but I have not as yet used it as a ceiling fan to circulate heat. If it does it will be the perfect vent. I will be putting it to that test in the coming months so the jury is still out on that one.

by:

Exactly what I wanted sand instal was e asy.

by:

Fan works great. It's quiet and improved the air flow in the travel trailer tremendously.
Brfore you couldn't get enough air moving through the trailer to keep it cool without the air conditioner.
The install was easy. It replaced an existing vent and there was 12 volts there already.

by:

Great fan for the price. Installation was easy. You will spend time removing the old dicor on the roof if you are replacing a fan like we did but it was worth it.

Great still!

by:

Moves air well. While it's quiet compared to my other vent fan, it developed a squeak that I could not fix. My unit's motor died after a couple months. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me another motor, which was easy to replace.

by:

Purchased to install in fifth wheel bedroom, where no fan existed, just a roof vent. Most time consuming was removing the old vent. The caulking removal was a real labor intensive operation. The factory must have used a fire hose to apply the stuff. Once the vent removed and the caulking mostly removed, the install of the maxxair went pretty smooth. Putty tape (purchased from local shop) under the rim, several stainless screws (15), came with fan, then finish roof top install with self leveling caulk around rim and on screw heads. Inside had to tie into 12v wiring at bathroom fan and fish wires to bedroom vent hole, less than 4 feet. Made connections, put on interior trim, and now wait for next RV outing to test efficiency. Works great in driveway. And one more thing, I also installed a Maxxair II vent cover in black. Helps to darken bedroom along with protecting vent.

by:

Easy installation and directions...this fan made a huge difference in the temperature in my camper

If you are mechanically inclined this vent fan is easy to install and it made a big difference in the temperature in my camper. Love it!

This item is an edition in the living area to aid in removing heat and add window circulation. Bathroom already had the same unit and I've used these before with great success.

  • Can a MaxxFan Manual Lift Vent be Converted into a Powered Lift
Unfortunately, MaxxAir does not have a conversion kit or motor that will turn your manual lift air vent into a powered lift. You may want to replace the vent with the MaxxFan Plus, part # MA00-04500K. It has the same dimensions and features of your current vent but with the added powered lift and controller.
