by:

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

by:

I welded this up on my 2004 GMC converted school bus, it worked great with minimal bumper notching

by:

Works great!

by:

Heavy duty, wished it would put itself on my motorhome.

by:

Easy to install

It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

Extremely high quality product, very happy with my purchase. Shipped quickly, I received it before the estimated time. One more side note, the shipping box was damaged while in route, (Not etrailer's fault) but because they did a great job packing it, everything was still in the box even though half of one side was torn off the box. I will defiantly be a repeat customer!!

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

Solid as stone!!

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus
The best option to add a hitch to your 2006 Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus is going to be the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets item # C97CR. This is a universal hitch that fits frames from 18" to 62" wide. This is our highest rated universal hitch and it has a 20,000 lbs towing capacity. The included brackets will drop of 9" from your bus's frame. There are no custom fit hitches for your Thomas Sf-T-Liner and this is going to need to be welded to your frame for the capacity...

For hitch fabrication we only offer the receiver tube like the # E-11 or # C49511. You would need to take this to a local fabricator and they would be able to fashion a hitch and brackets that will fit your 2011 Fleetwood Expedition Motorhome. The other option would be to use one of the universal Class V hitches we have listed for your motorhome. We have the Curt # C47CR with a 9" drop and the Curt # C99CR with an 18" drop. Both options have a 2" receiver. The # C37CR and # C87CR are...

There isn't a bolt-on option that will work so you'll have to use a weld-on hitch for your 1996 Pace Arrow motorhome. One that will fit the frame distance of your motorhome and has a 2" receiver (but is actually a Class V hitch), is from Curt, the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets # C47CR. This is for frames from a minimum of 18" to a maximum of 44" which is exactly the range your frame falls in.

We have an option for you, though the hitch you mentioned will not fit your ambulance on a 1996 Ford F-350 cab and chassis. Instead, you need a universal weld-on hitch, and we have the exact one that will work: - Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch with Brackets # C47CR This hitch is designed to fit frames between 18 inches and 44 inches, and gives a 9 inch drop from the frame of the vehicle so it will work great for you since you mentioned needing an 8 inch drop.

The mounting brackets on the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C47CR do need to be in that upright position so while this hitch can technically fit with your motorhome chassis, you'll need to get creative on how to properly weld the brackets to the frame. I suggest getting a 2 inch hitch receiver for your trailer. A universal one like this # C47CR will work well. You just need to weld it into place. I don't recommend putting the Swagman Original # S64400 in anything other than a hitch receiver. Luckily the Swagman Original is rated to be put on any vehicle you may have with a class III hitch or higher so you're good to use it on the back of your 14 foot trailer!
