Trailer Hitch With Drop for Ford Chassis With 34 Inch Frame

Question:

What is the drop on this 41947 hitch from the mounting surface to top of the receiver tube? Also, how far out from the rear most mounting hole to the rear end of the receiver tube? I have an ambulance on a 1996 f350 cab and chassis with a bumper mounted on frame extensions. Frame rails are 34” wide at the outside and 30.5” on center. I’d need 8” to drop below the number.

We have an option for you, though the hitch you mentioned will not fit your ambulance on a 1996 Ford F-350 cab and chassis. Instead, you need a universal weld-on hitch, and we have the exact one that will work:

- Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch with Brackets # C47CR

This hitch is designed to fit frames between 18 inches and 44 inches, and gives a 9 inch drop from the frame of the vehicle so it will work great for you since you mentioned needing an 8 inch drop.
