Trailer Hitch Receiver Options For 1999 Ford E450 Ambulance
Question:
This particular trailer hitch is the closest one Ive come across to possibly fit a 1999 Ford e450 box-style ambulance. I only need the precise channel between mounting walls dimensions which the manufacturer did not provide. Can you provide these dimensions if an unbox one is within your grasp? Thanks

The width of the mounting channel is 2-7/8 inches for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR. It's pretty unlikely this is going to fit, and for applications like yours, the best option is a universal hitch that you can weld on.
So long as your frame is no longer than 44 inches wide from outside to outside, a universal hitch will work, you just need to measure how far down you need the receiver to be from the bottom of the frame (the drop). Once you know that, you can choose from the following:
- 3" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # 15901
- 9" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C47CR
- 18" Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C99CR
