When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.
Electric reverse lockout with solenoid is automatically activated when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse. To use this feature, you must have a 5-pole flat, 6-way round or 7-pole wiring harness.

I replaced a twenty four year old coupler with the Titan T4750820.
My previous system had a separate coupler, hydraulic pack, and battery box. I could not keep up with the effects of salt water and time. It became a maintenance and safety nightmare.
The installation of a titan hydraulic coupler and a Tekonsha P3 brake controller has restored my confidence in my braking system.
The staff at etrailer.com was first class in answer all my questions and making sure I got the right gear the first time.

Love the coupler, heavy, built well, nice unit. I only wish e-trailer would of notified me that it was on back order prior to taking my money. Ended up moving a vacation back about a month because of it.

The latch is a pain, it's always getting stuck. It is such a pain that I just ordered the Demco. Save yourself the headache and buy the better product from the get go.

- Replacement Titan Brake Actuator for Titan 3241639We've checked the part number you gave us before and the replacement for it is the part # T4750820 which is for disc brakes. This one does come with a reverse lock out solenoid. If it has rust all over it I'd consider just replacing the entire thing and starting over with everything new. If you can get me the capacity of your axles and the bolt patterns I can help you pick out stainless steel brake components that won't rust as well.
