When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Electric reverse lockout with solenoid is automatically activated when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse. To use this feature, you must have a 5-pole flat, 6-way round or 7-pole wiring harness.

EASE OF INSTALLATION: Definitely not plug and play. RELIABILITY: Excellent. DURABILITY: Product used exclusively in salt water environment. Still looks new. No Rust! RECOMMEND TO OTHERS: Yes, but know you are in for a major task.

I replaced a twenty four year old coupler with the Titan T4750820.
My previous system had a separate coupler, hydraulic pack, and battery box. I could not keep up with the effects of salt water and time. It became a maintenance and safety nightmare.
The installation of a titan hydraulic coupler and a Tekonsha P3 brake controller has restored my confidence in my braking system.
The staff at etrailer.com was first class in answer all my questions and making sure I got the right gear the first time.

by:

Love the coupler, heavy, built well, nice unit. I only wish e-trailer would of notified me that it was on back order prior to taking my money. Ended up moving a vacation back about a month because of it.

by:

The latch is a pain, it's always getting stuck. It is such a pain that I just ordered the Demco. Save yourself the headache and buy the better product from the get go.

  • Replacement Titan Brake Actuator for Titan 3241639
We've checked the part number you gave us before and the replacement for it is the part # T4750820 which is for disc brakes. This one does come with a reverse lock out solenoid. If it has rust all over it I'd consider just replacing the entire thing and starting over with everything new. If you can get me the capacity of your axles and the bolt patterns I can help you pick out stainless steel brake components that won't rust as well.

  • Recommended Parts To Convert Wildcat RV Trailer With Tandem 5200lb Axles To Disc Brakes
We do have a kit that may work on your 5200lb Dexter axles, but since there are a few different bearing combinations for 5200lb axles you will want to confirm which bearings your spindle uses by removing one of your current hubs and checking the bearing number stamped on the face of the bearings as you can see in the included picture of the # L44649. The only option with the 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern you need is the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712E which uses inner bearing # 25580, and...

  • What Components Are Needed To Convert Electric to Hydraulic Disc Brakes On 12K Trailer
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains everything that is needed when adding hydraulic disc brakes to your trailer. In addition to a kit like part # K2R1258L12 you will need to make sure you have the right brake mount flange, and you will need to add hydraulic brake lines to your trailer. You will also need a surge brake actuator like part # T4750820 installed on your trailer frame. I have attached links to the brake lines we offer, and to the actuators we offer.

  • Disc Brake Recommendation for a Triple Axle Boat Trailer
Since you will putting the disc brakes on a boat trailer I recommend going with something that will be corrosion resistant. For that I recommend Kodiak disc brake kit # K2HR35DS. It is constructed using stainless steel parts and other parts have a Dacromet coating for superior corrosion resistance. This is a complete kit for 1 axle. This kit has rotors that use inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649. If you have different bearing numbers this kit can still work as long as the inner...

  • Straight Titan Model 10 Actuator for Disc Brakes and Electric Lockout
Yes, you can use Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T4750820 which is straight rather than having a drop coupler. Everything else is the same: fits a 3 inch wide tongue, fits a 2-5/16 inch ball, rated for 12,500 pounds, disc brake applications.

  • Complete Disk Surge Brake Setup Recommendation for a Rogue Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
We have everything you need, just not in one kit. For a disk brake kit that will bolt up to your 4 bolt brake flanges and will slip over your 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the part # K2R35D for a dacromet finish. Or if your trailer will see salt water I would recommend the stainless steel kit part # K2R35S. You will need a quantity of two of these kits for both axles. For a brake line kit you will need the part # DM5425. And then for a surge brake actuator you would want...

  • Are Replacement Parts for the GDC-100 Available
I may have a solution for you, but we don't have replacement parts for a GDC-100 actuator. It looks like the GDC-100 is a heavier duty actuator designed to work with disc brakes, so the # T4750820 would be a good option to use as a replacement. This is a higher capacity disc brake actuator with an electric lock out, so it's ideal for a boat trailer that has disc brakes..

  • Advantages of Manual vs. Electric Reverse Lockout on Actuator Coupler
A trailer actuator-coupler with an electric reverse lockout feature, such as Titan # T4750820, allows you to reverse your trailer without having to get out of the vehicle to first engage a manual lockout lever. The internal solenoid in the actuator takes care of this automatically when you shift the vehicle into reverse; that reverse light signal is the trigger that tells the actuator to block the flow of fluid through the brake lines. Blocking the flow of brake fluid allows reversing the...

  • Recommended Replacement Surge Brake Actuator and Disc Brakes for Boat Trailer
Is the trailer's GVWR 5,200 pounds or is that the axle capacity? If it's the axle capacity and a tandem axle trailer I recommend the Titan brake actuator, part # T4750820, that's rated for up to 12,500 pounds. If the trailer's maximum weight capacity is 5,200 pounds then instead I suggest part # T4745720. Both are zinc-plated to preven corrosion and include an electric lockout. If your axle isn't rated for 5,200 pounds let me know so I recommend the correct disc brakes. If they are...

Since the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T4750820 that you referenced has a weight capacity of 12,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 1,250 lbs it will serve well as a replacement actuator for your application.
