Say i pull into a busy service station with one of these... can i put padlock on it to deter theft? i do not see an allowance to lock my trailer on to my car....

The Demco Trailer Coupler # DM14976-52 has a 5/16" hole through the side of the coupler that will accept a lock. Our etrailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock # e98888 will allow you to prevent the coupler from being disconnected easily from your coupler.

I recommend to use the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set # 3794DAT as this will also provide you with locks for your ball mount and a storage lock when you have to disconnect from the trailer.
