Will a Hitch Mounted Bike Rack On a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor Trigger Blind Spot Sensors
Question:
I have 2018 Ford F150 raptor, the width is about 65inch and my bike is about 74. if the bikes are mounted on a hitch bike rack. will the extra width cover the blind spot sensor and make false warning when driving ? same concerns on the cross traffic sensors which are together with the blind spot sensors built in the brake lights well .

If you will be carrying bikes on the rear of a vehicle with blind spot sensors then you will want to turn these sensors off while you have the bikes attached as there is a possibility that the bikes or bike rack can interfere with them, same goes for the cross traffic sensors as well. The good new is that most vehicles allow you to easier turn these sensors off via the in dash settings.
If you don't already have a hitch mounted bike rack, the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU24FR is one of my favorites because it is lightweight therefore easy to take on and off the vehicle and it has an open design therefore easy to load bikes onto. If you don't already have a trailer hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C86HR will work well with the Transfer and it is a custom fit for your 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor.
If you want to be able to carry bikes without disabling the blind spot or cross traffic sensors then you can go with a tailgate mounted bike rack, the Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier part # SR26457 but you don't have many other options.
