Video Transcript for Timbren Vehicle Suspension TA25722-90P00 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Timbren 1/2 inch Spacer for raised frame vehicles. Timbren recommends that you have a 1/2 inch to an inch of clearance between the Timbren and the contact point when the vehicle isn't under a load. If the clearance is more than what's recommended, then a spacer is the ideal solution. It installs easily and allows you to have full function of your Timbren suspension system even though you have a vehicle with a raised frame. This particular spacer measures a 1/2 inch thick. Top to bottom is 1/2 inch.

The hole here in the center will accepts 3/8 inch diameter hardware.Remember that you may need longer hardware since you're adding the spacer to your setup. You can go to your local hardware shop and pick something up. That's exactly what we do when we install these on customer vehicles here in our shop. When it comes to the overall diameter, edge to edge we're looking at four inches. With this part number you get one spacer.

I also want to mention that we do offer this in a one inch thickness with part number A25723-90AH00. You can view that right here at etrailer.com. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Timbren 1/2 inch spacer for raised frame vehicles.

1/2" Spacer fits vehicles with raised frames.

by:

Have had them for a year along with the Timbren SAS and have hauled a camper about 9000 miles without an issue. They really stabilize the load on my 2500. You go from white knuckling to actually enjoying the drive. Well worth it, and an easy install!

by:

The wrong spacer was ordered and Danielle was helpful with getting that order cancelled and a the correct part sent. Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to us the part had already been picked and sent down the chute so I ended receiving both sets. But Danielle saved the day by emailing a return label, which made it a simple process to get the wrong set returned.
The Spacers themselves were pretty easy to install and closed the gap between the Timbren Spring and the axle contact point to where it will engage sooner. They, the Timbren's, were doing their job before adding the spacer but I was looking for a little less squat when the trailer is connected and by adding the spacer was able to achieve it.

by:

They work like they are supposed to. I used them in conjunction with my timbrens to take up some gap on them. For reference to those with an at-4 GMC, I have a 2020 and with this 1/2" and the timbren (it was actually only 4 1/2" tall, not 5" like the images showed) have about 1.25" gap between the bottom of the timbren and the axle stop. I was under the impression that the timbren itself was 5" based on the image in the kit I got, tgmrck15s, so I'm a 1/2" shorter than I wanted but I will run it for a while and see how it looks when loaded with my trailer before going any thicker with a spacer.

by:

Good product, does exactly what it is designed to do. The only words of wisdom I can pass on are to make sure it is not riding to close to the axle when your truck is empty or it will kick and have a rough ride (when empty only). This space can be adjusted by adding or removing the spacers. You can see in the picture that I have about 1.5 inches of clearance on my setup. Once the truck is loaded and they are in use they perform beautifully. Definitely helps reduce sag and supports the load evenly from side to side. 2018 F150 XLT FX4

by:

Worked perfectly for my slightly lifted F150. Without, the bed would drop a bit too much before engaging the overloads wich raised the front enough to cause mild drivability issues.

by:

These came quickly and were very easy to install after I finally figured out what wrench was necessary to remove the factory jounce bumpers. A 10 MM socket was what it took.

They help keep my Denali 1500 from sagging so much when I tow my car hauler with the car in it.

by:

I used the spacers after checking measurements before installation on my GMC 2021 Sierra 1500 AT4. More information in my review of the full enhancement system to follow.

by:

I am very happy with the performance of Timbrens on my 2014 Ford F-250. When unloaded and not needed, the Timbrens sit idle, but when I hitch up my 7000 lb trailer, the Timbrens provide additional support to the stock springs which results in better rear end stance and better handling while towing. I think it makes my F-250 more like a F-350 when towing.

Because the original Timbrens installed were about 1 and 1/2 inches from the axle, I added the 1/2 spacer, which put the Timbrens in ideal position in regard to the axle and loading.

by:

The timbrens help control sway plus providing load leveling with a heavy load.
I really like them/

Been working great, helps keep PU level when trailer is attached with out load levelers! For long haul I still use the load lever hitch though.

by:

Had Timbren rear suspension system installed on my F250 Super Duty. I use with a 3horse heavier blt trailer with 8ft short wall. I can't believe how much more stable the truck feels with this system. Love it and would most certainly recommend this system be added to their truck. I wish I knew years ago to add this system to my truck.

by:

Works well. At first, I had too many spacers, and it caused a harsh ride. I removed 1" of rubber and got my good, no load ride back. When I hitch up my 5th wheel toy hauler, I get a sure, stable ride, without rear end sag and front end lift.

by:

I have had these on many of my trucks, great product, better than air bags for me. I put these on a 2013 F-150 that pulls a 5000 pound boat. Easy installation and nice ride. Keeps my headlights aimed properly, no sag. Highly recommend.

by:

Product works great! Installed these on a 2018 Ford F150 that has a leveling kit. I didn't want the truck to sit below level in the rear when towing my trailer. I tried the Timben without these initially, and then purchased these to maintain the ride height I was looking for. Well worth the money.

by:

Perfect fit and dialed in the clearance just the way I wanted it. I preferred to have my Timbrens on the closer side of what they suggested. I do wish they came with a longer bolt though for convenience sake. Fortunately, on the 2020 Silverado 1500's I didn't need the locknut at all, the hole is threaded. A little red lock tight for a little added security and I was done. They are holding great.

by:

The spacers are great. I had previously installed the TORTUN4 Timbrens, but with a 6" lift the truck still sat too low in the rear when loaded. The spacers allowed the timbrens to come into affect much sooner and prevent rear end sag. Didn't know spacers were an option until I found them on etrailer. Thanks for an awesome website!

by:

I placed these on my farm truck and they absolutely did the trick. I haul hay trailers and cattle trailers and the difference these made over the OEM bump stops is remarkable.

by:

I put these on a 2007 Tundra and this past summer it pulled work& play toy hauler from Pa. To Yellowstone and back with no issues. The truck handled the weight great.

by:

Just what I needed to reduce the gap between my Timbren helper springs and the bump stops.

by:

Love my Timbrens and been using them for years. These 1/2 spacers are handy to help dial in perfect ride height.

by:

The guys at e-trailer and Timbren are great. Needed 1/2” spacers for my Tundra for my timbren overloads and they had them to me in 2 days. They fit and work great. Exactly what I needed. Thanks.

by:

Etrailer has nothing but great products and this was no exception exactly what I needed

by:

Did exactly what I wanted it too. It did require trimming and then sanding to match the top piece. It was a breeze and not too difficult.

by:

Well made part. I actually need these instead of the ones that came with the Timbren kit, (TRF150D)

Moved from WA to central UT, made numerous trips pulling an 18 car hauler. The Timbrens kept everything level and firm. Love those things!

by:

Needed product quickly and dependably to complete a customers truck in a timely fashion. E trailer came through as promised w the correct product and delivered on time.

by:

Got the spacers I needed in two days
Thank

  • Recommended Timbrens for 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 with Add-A-Leaf
In regards to the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System for a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 LD part # TGMRCK15S for extended or regular cab models and part # TGMRCK25S for crew cab models, the space between the frame and axle if extended can be compensated for using spacers to fill the gap which is common in lifted applications. For this, you'd just need to use a combination of the Timbren Spacers part # TA25722-90P00 for 1/2" or part # A25723-90AH00 for 1" until you get between 1-1/2" - 1"...

If you're wanting to install the Timbren # TFR350SDJ on your 2022 Ford F-350 then you'll want to measure the distance from where your factory bump stops are installed down to the point of contact on the axle. The Timbren # TFR350SDJ are 7-1/2" tall and according to the manufacturer you need to have 1/2" to 1-1/2" of a gap between the rubber spring and the contact point. If you measure from the place where your OEM bump stop sits down 7-1/2" and the gap that is left is between the 1/2" to...

  • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement On 2009 Ram 2500 Cummins
If you have a working front suspension, the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TDDF974A shouldn't raise your front end but just keep it from bottoming out. It isn't intended to change the empty ride of your vehicle, but to engage as the factory suspension needs the additional support. They do act like shock absorbers getting more rigid as they compress to support the load. If you want to engage the spring sooner you can add a spacer if needed in 1 inch increments using # A25723-90AH00...

The Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs are designed to work with factory rear coil springs only therefore I recommend taking a look at the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRG25C which like the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs will also work to help reduce sag...

  • Are Spacers Needed for Timbrens on 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Trail Boss
Yes, the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T28MR will be the best option when it comes to cost-effectiveness. This will fit with your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Trail Boss but you'll want to make sure these fit the gap properly. The Timbrens measure 5-5/8" high overall and you need a gap of 1/2" to 1-1/2" for the Timbrens to be effective. • Does 2020 Ford F-350 with Leveling Kit Need Spacers When Installing Timbren Suspension Kit
Typically a leveling kit for the suspension of a truck like your 2020 Ford F-350 is a slight lift to the front suspension so that the front and rear of the truck is leveled. Higher rated trucks like yours have the rear suspension sitting up quite a bit taller since the suspension is beefed up more back there to compensate for the weight of cargo or a trailer. So with a Timbren kit like the # TFR350SDJ that fits your truck installed you wouldn't need any spacers as long as only the front...

  • Jounce Bumper Spring versus Air Springs on a lifted 2008 Ford F-250
For your 2008 Ford F-250, I can help you with enhancing your factory suspension. You are correct in saying that the air bags have more flexibility, but do require more maintenance than the jounce spring systems which are maintenance free. Either option will work with your lifted truck, but if you are primarily concerned about suspension support when towing your 5th wheel, then the jounce replacement springs are an excellent low cost option. For your needs, I'd suggest the Timbren Rear...

You will need to supply the hardware, as the hardware that is included won't work with the spacers installed.
