Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement cable with quick link for the gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift. This unit is a direct replacement for the quick link cable for your gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift. It is made from a stainless steel construction, it's a nice braided design, so a very strong durable design. When you're ready to install it, you need to cut the cable that's been replaced from the springs with the bolt cutter, install your new cable using the included quick link and then securely attach and tighten the quick link to both the inner and outer springs. The cable itself, I unwound it and I did a full length measurement. From end to end, all the way stretched out, it measured around 57-1/4 inches. The actual cable, so from this point right here to the same point on the other side stretched out, is about 51-1/4 inches.
The diameter of the quick link right here, that's going to measure about 1/4 of an inch. The threaded portion is a little bit larger in diameter, that's going to have a diameter of about 5/16 of an inch. The opening, right here, that's going to be around 1-13/16 of an inch. When the barrel portion is all the way unthreaded, that gap opening right there is going to be around a 1/4 of an inch. Then you can see that's all threaded so it just threads on to the threaded portion there very easy to tighten and loosen. The internal width measurement, that's going to give us a measurement of around 9/16 of an inch.
If you measure from the back side right here to the flat portion of that barrel, that's going to be about a half of an inch. Externally we can take a measurement of that as well. Overall we're looking at about 2-1/4 inches and to the added portion of that barrel, that's going to be pretty close to about 1-1/8 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement cable with the quick link for the gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift.

Trailer rollers are very grooved out compared to our original rollers purchased in 2010. These that we just received will wear wat to quickly, and would need to be replaced before the end of this season.

- Is it Normal to have to Replace Cables on Gorilla Lift Once a YearI would say that it is not normal to have to replace the Gorilla Lift cables with # GLC1-Q1 very often under normal circumstances and certainly not once a year. If the system is overloaded, mounted outside of its specified range, or the trailer is often in extreme weather conditions (a lot of salt) then that would reduce the lifespan. The Gorilla Lift # GL1 is rated for up to 300 pounds for tailgates that are 4 to 6 feet tall. The trailer side rail height also needs to be 12 to 24 inches...
