Video Transcript for Titan Brake Actuator T4395100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number T4395100. This is the replacement master cylinder assembly. This replacement assembly is going to fit Titan model 60 and Aero 7500 trailer brake actuators. It's designed for drum brakes only. You can see here everything that it's going to come with. We're going to go over just the components.

It's going to come with a master cylinder. Nice, heavy duty design. It's got the rubberized boot here on the end of it. If we remove that boot on the inside you're going to be able to see that it does come with the snap ring, the spring, and the seals. All of that is going to already be in place and again, located behind the boot.

It's also going to come with your gasket. It's going to be this right here, it's going to come with the master cylinder cover. You're going to get the orifice connector, goes into the threaded portion here at the back of your brake line. It's going to come with the hardware. You're going to get your four hex bolts. Those are going to measure 3/4 of an inch long by 1/4 inch in diameter, and you're going to get your 1/4 inch lock washers.

Has the diaphragm style filler cap, and just a quick tech tip, one of the ways to tell if the master cylinder is designed for disc or drum brakes is to simply take a paper clip and you can straighten it out. If we push it into this area back here, if it only goes in about an inch and a half that means that it's designed for drum brakes only. If the paper clip was to go in about three inches, then that means that it would be designed for disc brakes. That's going to do it for our review of part number T4395100. This is the replacement master cylinder assembly from Titan.

Looks like a great unit. Wrong Master Cylinder for my Atwood replacement which was obsolite. Would not fit.

by:

Fits and works perfectly. Rebuilt entire coupler and trailer springs

by:

Perfect fit and best price out there. Was delivered faster then my prime membership would have. Easy install and (thanks to etrailer) have a whole new braking system under my Outlaw.
Thanks Steven & etrailer for listening and your expert follow up!!

by:

Good product at a good price. Got it installed and the system bled (the old brake fluid looked like thin mud coming out!) and everything works well. Install was easy, with the exception that the old master cylinder that I removed looks to have been just a hair shorter than this one that I got from etrailer. The new one was a tiny bit too tall for it to slide in the back of the actuator. I ended up removing the actuator from the tongue of the trailer to get the master cylinder bolted onto it. With the four master cylinder bolts torqued down it fit fine and the actuator easily went back into place on the tongue.

I do wish it had a metal cap like the old one that it replaced, but that is not a huge deal. I hope the plastic one holds up.

The plastic master cylinder cap seems to leak. Other than that, its fine.

Item was delivered on time. It installed as expected and operates correctly. Great service from ETrailer.

by:

Part was excellent, shipping was slow but USPS’s fault.

by:

Did what I needed it to do.

by:

I needed this part to replace a rusted and blocked cylinder on a boat trailer. The part was delivered earlier than I expected and was exactly what I needed. The price was right and the service was superb.

Made the trailer connection like new. Have had zero problems with the brake assembly

by:

Just as described!! Thanks!

by:

Quick delivery, excellent customer service and great prices, as usual.

When I installed the Brake Fluid Master Cylinder reservoir on the coupler. It was a bit oversized in height. Finally was able to bolt on. Then when I was screwing in the four top bolts to hold the reservoir in place, one of the bolts snapped off in the housing. It will have to be extruded somehow.

Brake lines - no problem.

Dale

Items excellent shipping to way too long but thapt resuts from covid

by:

I ordered the brake actuator replacement for the Titan Model 60, paid extra for the UPS ground shipping and had the part in 6 days! You must take apart the brake actuator from the hitch as not to damage the gasket when installing the part. Had it installed in 15 minutes. Another 15 to bleed the drum brakes and all is well. LGB (lets go boating)

I purchased master cylinder for a Titan model 60 and was easy to purchase from etrailer and i received it in the amount of time that was on the order. everything that was needed was included to change the part. I rate etrailer excellent because the order was easy and i received the part with no problems. The master cylinder was the exact part as the original

by:

This is the direct replacement for my Titan hitch. It appears to have an anodized exterior coating that should resist rust.

Perfect!

by:

Exact replacement for my trailer’s surge brakes. Tracking the shipment was interesting. Took a while from order date to ship date but it was worth it. I would do it again.

by:

Like new after rebuild with all your pa rts

by:

The trailer master cyinder is in place and working fine. Fitment as important as ever was correct.

The surge brake cylinder is working well

by:

There was a loud clunk and you could feel it when using the surge brakes on our ski boat trailer. The master cylinder was badly pitted. Now the braking is smooth and responsive.

by:

Etrailer transaction was easy and the shock and master cylinder arrived fast. The m/c installed without any mods and now my boat trailer is a dream to tow.

by:

The master cylinder I reicieved is as good as anywhere else plus etrailer was the cheapest and fast delivery. Will do business with again.

all the trailer parts i got were the best quality and the best price i could find. thanks for the great site to keep my trailer on the road.

Thanks for the follow up Ted. Glad to hear the trailer is still on the road.

by:

Product seems to be an exact replacement for the Titan model 60 master cylinder. Just what I needed.

Aside from that, etrailer.com is one of the best online retailers I've used. They've been very helpful with any questions, and have been able to expedite shipments when needed. I would use them again, no question.

by:

Brakes were rebuilt with etrailer parts and are working great. Thanks // etrailer.

Gordon P.

Still performing great

by:

product works as promised. it appears to be a direct replacement but is very tight getting put back under original mounting bracket. My bracket is welded in place. It may be because of the new gasket (is thicker). I used a hammer and punch to bend the metal down a little on the trailer itself so the new master cylinder could slide into place. No other problems.

by:

both the replacement wheel cylinders and the brake actuator fit perfectly and function very well, just like new.

by:

Had to replace the brakes on a boat trailer. After finding etrailer, it became an easy decision that and more cost effective to replace the assemblies instead of pads and cylinders individually.

After trying to bleed the system and having trouble, etrailer had the master cylinder in stock and got it to me in no time at all to complete the repairs needed.

  • Best Option for Replacing 85841 Master Cylinder on Atwood Drum Brake Actuator
The Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly # T4395100 will not work to replace your Atwood master cylinder model 85841. Since replacement parts for your actuator are obsolete, your only option is to replace the entire actuator assembly. I completely understand, it's always nice to try to salvage what you have before purchasing again. I can explain the difference to you, and might have a possible solution for you. Drum and disk brake actuators use different pressures for operation. Drum brake actuators typically produce 1000-psi pressure while disc brake actuators produce 1500 or 1600-psi pressure. The higher pressure of a disc actuator could blow out the wheel cylinders of a drum brake assembly so you cannot use the...
