  • Deep V keel roller supports your boat's keel as it sits on the trailer
    • Eases loading and unloading of boat
    • Helps to absorb road shock while boat is being trailered
  • Panel bracket lets you bolt roller assembly onto the front of your boat trailer
    • Has slotted mounting holes that allow you to adjust the position during installation
    • Requires 1/2" or 7/16" fasteners (not included)
  • Sturdy, galvanized steel bracket resists corrosion
    • 6 Gussets provide extra strength by stiffening the bends
  • Yellow, thermal-plasticized rubber (TPR) roller delivers superior long-lasting performance
    • TPR material is non-marking, stronger than rubber and softer than polyurethane
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Roller length: 12"
  • Shaft diameter: 5/8"
  • Dimensions of mounting slots (each): 1/2" wide x 5" tall
  • Spacing of mounting slots: 10" apart on center

Typically installed upright on the rear and middle crossmembers of a boat trailer, keel roller panel bracket assemblies help to keep the boat moving while it is being loaded and to stabilize the keel.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

I received my C.E. Smith keel roller and guide-on roller supports in Zap Mail. I wasn't sure about how the guide-ons would work out as I suspected they might tend to move when force of the boat pushed against them. And I didn't like the look of the excess tubing extendinging into the trailer. As it turns out the extra tubing length goes beneath the bunk boards. There was just enough space for me to add a wedge made out of dense plastic block on top of the tubing and under the bunk board. This made the whole guide-on very strong and sturdy. Similarly I wanted to get my front roller as far forward as possible. To do this I put it on seemingly backwards but added 1" spacers I fabricated using aluminum tubing between the bracket and cross beam of the trailer. All-in-all I am very happy with the upgrades to my trailer. They should make using it much easier especially on steep grades and with cross-winds. Excellent quality on all of the CE Smith components.

by:

Unusual application, to guide bow of sailboat onto rack rollers next to dock. Works very well!

by:

These arrived quickly and appear to be good quality. Custom building boat trailer for 28' boat and should work out just fine. Have attached some pictures of the installation.

by:

Very good quality, heavy gauge metal with excellent galvanized coating. Roller looks to be very good quality. Delivery was sooner than expected .The bunk roller system is great ,easy to install.

by:

I belive this will solve the problem with the keel hitting the trailer. THE rollers look GREAT

by:

Another Good addition to my Trailer. You are the main reason I order Boat Trailer parts from. Your Dependable and when you say it's shipped I look forward to it in a couple of days which let's me go fishing faster than waiting 7-9 days. Keep up the Great Work. As they say, "If it's not Broken don't Fix it.

Roller and Bracket that I installed still Looks and Works as if I just installed yesterday on the trailer. A great buy for the money that lasts and works.

Great product. Very reasonable price, with careful packing and fast
shipping. I ordered a large CE Smith roller and plan on mounting it on my dock to launch a sailing canoe. Thank you ! I may order another.

Works well. The axle has rusted.

I have not yet installed these rollers on my trailer, but my first impression out of the box is that this product is well made and very sturdy. They are a great improvement over the original rollers that came with the trailer.

Worked great when it wasnt broken. The compression caps that hold the roller shaft in place failed on each of the two rollers that I purchased. The same casualty occurred on a friends trailer. The manufacturer did send me replacement rollers, but I did not have confidence that they would remain intact. So far best solution is to drill and use cotter pins to keep from losing the roller.

by:

Speedy delivery, item was exactly what we needed. Went on in a snap. Very pleased!

by:

About a year ago I ordered trailer fenders, lights, and rollers. All products preform well, and as usual etrailer provides awesome customer service. Their website provide more product information than any other company I have seen on the web. Plus it is always easy to contact them for additional information.

by:

This was the perfect solution to the loading problem we were having with our boat. The boat keel was riding on the rear cross member of our trailer, making it difficult to properly center the boat on the trailer. Installing this roller on the cross member accurately centered the boat. It now loads perfectly every time.

by:

The bracket quality was good, but unfortunately the roller material (plastic/polymer?) was very soft, so when under a load if the roller started to bind up, the keel wore a groove into the center of the roller. Once the initial "flat" developed, it only got worse over time.

by:

I've always had a problem loading my boat onto the (bunk) trailer and lining it up straight. Hopefully after installing this keel roller assembly my problem will be alleviated. Robust product, built very strong. Delivery was on time. As you can see by the photos, I needed to move the light bar from the cross member onto the roller assembly.

by:

I really appreciate all these CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assemblies. I am creating my own roller system for use loading and unloading my Zodiac inflatable with 20 HP outboard and these work the best on a transportable roller setup between my utility trailer or just rolling into the back of my pickup.

by:

I gave it 4 stars because it appears to be very well built and although I installed it last year I still haven’t actually tried it out. I installed it on my boat trailer to hopefully cure a loading problem, but have not launched the boat yet. Because of that I withheld the 5th star pending testing. However, the service was great and the equipment appears to be top quality. I would not hesitate to order again.

by:

All the parts work great and they are still working 1 year later. Thanks

by:

In short, it does the job. It's a boat trailer roller so let's not go crazy with the review. It arrived in a timely manner. Good quality items. I like that they are non-marring and the steel is heavy gauge. They are easy to install and adjustable to whatever height is needed. If you need a good roller for your trailer, this is a good choice.

by:

My boat trailer had teflon skid plates on the cross beams instead of rollers. The stern of the boat was supported with bunks. One skid plate was damaged, and cut through the gel coat of my 22 Robalo's keel. Bummer. I decided to replace with non marring rollers. I chose the C E Smith CE10453G rollers. The crew at etrailer helped me decide by emailing me information on height to center of rollers, and weight distribution on the rollers. A great experience dealing with the techs and specialists at etrailer. The rollers are very heavily galvanized and solidly built. They bolt onto the cross members of the trailer quite easily with U Bolts (not supplied). These rollers not only helped unloading of my 4000 lb boat, it has taken the risk of damaging the keel out of play. Best money I have spent in a while! I ordered them online, and they were on my porch in 4 days. Great product, fast shipping, and great customer service !!!!!

Perfect for intended use

by:

I had 5" rollers before and kept missing them and banging up the bottom of my boat and scratching it because I was hitting the metal on the sides of the rollers. I have three rollers past the rear bunks that hold the boat. Adding these larger/wider rollers that don't have any sharp points at the ends on the metal has now saved the bottom of my boat. I also added some boat guides that help a ton. No more diggers on the boat bottom for me!

by:

End compression caps continued to fail. Finally had to install cotter pins to prevent roller from falling off. A friend had the same problem with this product.

by:

all three products were delivered promptly and packaged securely. All arrived in great shape with no back orders and were exactly as ordered. The fulton trailer fold away hinge was cool, three hours to install and worked great and boat is now in garage. A good quality product at a fair price , what more could you ask for?
Thanks folks at etrailer.

It fits, it rolls, it keeps the keel off the trailer frame. What's not to like

  • Will 12 inch Keel Roller Help Load Boat on Trailer in River
Yes the CE SMith Deep V Keel Roller part # CE10455G that you referenced will help center your boat as you pull it up on the trailer. The 12 inch version would not be overkill. Using two of these like what you see in the picture I attached will do a great job keeping your boat centered as you load it. This will help with crosswinds and river currents like you are dealing with.

  • Hardware Requirements to Install CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly CE10455G
The specific hardware to best install the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly # CE10455G really depends on the desired mounting point on a particular trailer. U-bolts like # CE15283GA-2 are often a good option but other galvanized hardware you source locally may be better in some cases. Generally one pair of u-bolts would be sufficient for each roller in most typical installations.

  • Can the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly Part # CE10455G Support a 9,000 Lb Boat
The CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly part # CE10455G will do an excellent job of helping to guide the boat out of the water and position it onto the boat trailer all while reducing the stress on your winch. However, using just one of the rollers would not offer enough support for your 28' long 9,000 lb boat. In order to support the weight of the boat you will want to use several of the rollers positioned them just slightly above the frame rail so they are not taking responsibility for...

The CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly # CE10453G would work great to help center the boat as you load it onto the trailer as well as provide some additional support. • Do Boat Trailer Keel Rollers Need to Support Full Weight of Boat
The bunks should be what's bearing the weight of the boat on the trailer and the rollers like the # CE32015G are designed to make enough contact that they guide the boat on the trailer but not fully support the boats weight. Think of them as supportive guides for the boat so that it sits properly. The # CE32015G is a great option for the front of the boat and then for at the rear a lower and flatter option like the part # CE10455G would be a better option.

It really just depends on your boat trailer setup. If you are using bunk boards as well then you would need the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly # CE10455G to sit at a spot where it is sharing the load of the boat. If you will only be using the keel roller then I would place it just above the trailer as you can see a different customer did in the attached picture.

  • Replacement 11-3/8 Inch Long Keel Roller for a Boat Trailer
With 12 inch keel rollers, such as # YR12244-125EC for example, they aren't actually 12 inches long. They fit 12 inch wide brackets. Just the rubber part of this roller for example is approximately 11-3/8 inches. Overall it is 11-3/4 inches long. So it is kind of like a 2 x 4 which is neither 2 inches nor 4 inches. The other option is to replace the roller and mounting bracket together using an assembly such as # CE10455G. I have linked videos of both of these parts for you.
