The Konig XG-12 tire chains are great all-purpose, winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these Konig chains are perfect because they're durable, easy to mount, and give you constant traction - and they're lightweight and compact, so they store in your vehicle nicely too. If you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with V-bar links that can really bite into the ice to give you maximum traction.
These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they self-tension and self-center as you drive, ensuring a perfect fit, no matter the profile or wear pattern of your tire. Plus, you only have to get out of your vehicle one time - once they're installed, there's no need to drive forward, stop, and recheck their tension.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's owner's manual.

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is incredibly simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in them.
2. Slide the chain behind the tire and connect the ends of the blue cable, which will sit behind the tire.
3. Around front, connect the red hook to the red link.
4. At the bottom of the tire, feed the tensioning chain through the large clip. Pull the chain up to the center of the tire and secure it to the red hook that is attached to the tensioning cable.
5. Drive forward so that the chain can self-tension and self-center, giving you a perfect fit.

Easy to put on I did a test run
Used them extensively in 12-15 inch snow on a BMW X5 and they were absolutely great. Easy to place. Effective at delivering superb traction and always stayed in place on the tire.
I live in Texas, so these were totally new to me. I didn't know the first thing about snow chains. I did my research and decided I wanted the easiest type to put on and take off. I also wanted some heavy duty ones as I didn't want them falling apart if I needed them in my first trip to Colorado. When they came in, I practiced putting them on and taking them off. This was so simple to do that I was confident of my being able to do that. They were also heavy duty. I'm glad I got these.
II am very happy with the tire chains. NotI only are they quality but they are also relatively easy to install. A couple of years ago I Purchased a snowblower because I was tired of shoveling my driveway. As life would have it we didn’t get any significant snows for two years. So I really didn’t get a chance to use my snowblower. Nothing wrong with that. The same is true of the tire chains. We have a getaway home that is in the snowbelt. I bought the chains in the event that we would be at the get away and get snowed in. As of yet I have not needed to use the chains .Again like the snowblower I’m not sorry that I purchased the chains. If it means that I don’t ever have to use them that’s OK with me.

Seems like a high quality product. The fit was perfect. Service and delivery were good. Seems pretty expensive, but then again, a broken chain that rips off your brake line on a winter night is not cheap either...
These chains are bad to the bone tough!! Self tightening and I live off grid and they pulled my big ass right out of the baddest of bad conditions.

We had to travel back to Arizona from Washington after a medical procedure, and lo and behold, we learned of blizzards in the forecast for multiple states! Our Jeep Grand Cherokee has never needed chains in our trips over the Oregon passes and the Siskiyou Mountains, but this forecast was different. etrailer.com to the RESCUE! Through no one’s fault but my own, I did not receive these in time go my one chance so far to use them. I missed an opportunity on the trip because I didn’t have the chains. Again, no one’s fault but my own. I’ll say that etrailer’s service was prompt, their educational materials useful, and I’d do business with them again. The chains arrived as promised, just not in time for my trip. The chains exude quality. They went on easily in my familiarization test at home. I don’t live near snow, and I don’t regularly go to it, so I’m not sure when I’ll have another chance to try the chains.

Super nice that e-trailer has a video of the product that is specific to the make and model of my car! The video shows a technician putting the chains on the car. That took all the uncertainty out of the purchase. The chains themselves are great, easy to install.

I was introduced to these tire chains and the Thule cs-10's by being stuck in the snow. a fellow traveler came by and had a set that he didn't put on as he only needed 1 set to get thru the snow. the extra ones he had fit my subaru outback. he took 5 minutes to put both on my front wheels by connecting the rear portion, pulling the slack around the outside of the tire and connecting the front with a strap. pulled it taunt and wah-la. self tightening and off I go. so impressive I bought 4 sets from etrailer. very good website making it clear and easy on sizing and ordering. the customer service was very good too
We have had many sets of cables over the years and they all worked and were so-so to install. These Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro chains are the best chains I have ever seen. They are extremely easy to install. I have driven almost 100 miles on these chains and they ride smoother than any cable. These chains are well worth the price.
The snow chains were delivered very quickly, arrived in perfect sealed condition.
The chains literally installed on each tire of my 2019 pickup truck within 2 minutes. So easy, very solid construction, fit like a glove, and the kit came with replacement links, etc.
Also, the chains were very to store back into the storage container.
Very high tech- make sure you practice putting them on and off at least once or twice before getting into the snow and inclement weather!!
One tip for taking them off- make sure the main cable connection is at the top-same as when you put them on.
I did not do this the first time, and chains got caught on the brake caliper-very hard to remove then. Keeping the configuration the same as installation keeps everything in place.

I love these chains. I used it a few times and it was so easy and quick to install. These are some good quality chains. I could never go back using old school chains.

I have never before found tire chains for my BMW X5 (315/35R20) tires, without having them custom made. So I was somewhat doubtful about the Thule claims, regarding both size and ease of installation. However, the tire chains were exactly as advertised; easily installed and removed, and a perfect fit. Better yet was the help I received from Vince C., who eased my mind regarding any issues I might have. I must commend Vince, who's knowledge of the product, and attitude, was a pleasure to encounter.
