We got it welded on and it latches fine. It's really hard to get it to unlock though. Sometimes it requires a few hits from a rubber mallet. I wish there had been a way to tell this before we installed it. Maybe we got a lemon but I wouldn't recommend this coupler.
Had a buddy weld this on my two axle car hauler and it worked out beautifully!!

Haven’t installed it yet, but it’s an identical replacement for the original hitch on our Escape 19.

After 25 years the trailer coupler started cracking. This one is exactly like the one Big Tex use on my trailer when it was new. I hope this one lasts 25 years.
The coupler works and fit great on my old dump trailer. It was delivered on time. I would order again from etrailer.
Got it installed seems to work fine time will tell. If it were USA made would have been nice.
It is a easy coupler to both weld in place and operate the mechanism. I put it on as a replacement coupler, I use the trailer to haul a 5000# Bobcat tractor.

I can't exactly answer honestly what I think of it because after year I still haven't had put on the trailer it's a lot heavier in sturdier than I expected Shipping with quick and on time that is far as product I haven't put on the trailer yet

well long story short its still in the box in my garage never got the chance to put it on because somebody stole the trailer
I had bought a trailer that the hitch was messed up on. I got a great deal on it because the guy who had it didn't want to fool with replacing the damaged one since it was an A-frame style and he was thinking it would be hard to replace. I got online and found etrailer.com. They had quality products at great prices so I chose to order from them. I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly what I wanted. It was really simple to put on my trailer and so far everything has performed excellent. I would highly recommend etrailer.com products. I'll definitely be ordering more products as I need them from etrailer.com.
