We got it welded on and it latches fine. It's really hard to get it to unlock though. Sometimes it requires a few hits from a rubber mallet. I wish there had been a way to tell this before we installed it. Maybe we got a lemon but I wouldn't recommend this coupler.

by:

Had a buddy weld this on my two axle car hauler and it worked out beautifully!!

by:

The sales person was great to work with she was very helpful looking up all the information on the product I was looking for. The order was shipped very fast even with it being during the holidays. Good work Britt

by:

by:

After 25 years the trailer coupler started cracking. This one is exactly like the one Big Tex use on my trailer when it was new. I hope this one lasts 25 years.

by:

The coupler works and fit great on my old dump trailer. It was delivered on time. I would order again from etrailer.

by:

Got it installed seems to work fine time will tell. If it were USA made would have been nice.

by:

It is a easy coupler to both weld in place and operate the mechanism. I put it on as a replacement coupler, I use the trailer to haul a 5000# Bobcat tractor.

well long story short its still in the box in my garage never got the chance to put it on because somebody stole the trailer

by:

Excellent coupler for my homemade rig. Welded up nicely!

by:

I had bought a trailer that the hitch was messed up on. I got a great deal on it because the guy who had it didn't want to fool with replacing the damaged one since it was an A-frame style and he was thinking it would be hard to replace. I got online and found etrailer.com. They had quality products at great prices so I chose to order from them. I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly what I wanted. It was really simple to put on my trailer and so far everything has performed excellent. I would highly recommend etrailer.com products. I'll definitely be ordering more products as I need them from etrailer.com.

  • Location of VIN Number on 2010 Forest River Wildwood Camper
My contact at Forest River said that on a 2010 Wildwood you should find the VIN stamped onto a metal plate attached to the tongue area next to the coupler, a coupler like part # CA-5210-B. Usually the plate will face to the inside where it is protected from road debris.

  • Hitch Ball Size Required for A-Frame Coupler on 1998 Jayco 324BH Tandem-Axle Travel Trailer
The size of hitch ball a trailer coupler is designed to fit will usually be stamped into the coupler's own housing, rather than the trailer's tongue or frame. This ball size information will usually be found in the same area that indicates the coupler weight rating. Because couplers may eventually require replacement most trailer makers will not stamp coupler capacity into the trailer frame or tongue. It will be found on the coupler itself. • Recommended Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock Set For Use With Most Trailer Couplers and Hitches
I recommend using the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set # 3794DAT for securing the Couper # CA-5210-B latch. Included in this lockset is 2 receiver hitch locks for 2" and 1-1/4" receivers as well as the adjustable coupler latch, trailer storage lock and carry bag. All locks are keyed alike to make is easier than fumbling with multiple keys. The Coupler Lock # 2847DAT is if you only want the adjustable coupler lock.

  • Selecting A-Frame Coupler Repair Kit
Coupler repair kits are usually brand-specific but sometimes a kit made for one brand of coupler can work on another. Still, it is best to find a brand name and/or part number on the item so that you can order the exact correct kit for it. We have several a-frame couplers that look a lot like the unit you referenced, part # CA-5210-B, that you can see on the linked page. You may be able to confirm which you have by comparing your coupler to the photos. All a-frame coupler repair kits...

  • Availability Of Replacement Latch For Atwood 88555 2 Coupler
Unfortunately the Atwood coupler in your picture (appears to be part 88555) has been discontinued so there is not any latch kit or replacement parts available. At this point the only option we can offer is to replace the coupler entirely. The most similar coupler we offer is the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B. This has the same 8,000 lb weight rating as the Atwood 88555 coupler. It also appears to be very similar in design. If you want to go with something a bit more heavy duty,...

  • Replacement for Atwood Yoke Style A-Frame Coupler For 2 Inch Hitch Ball
Atwood was bought out and their replacement parts are no longer available - including the repair kit you mentioned - so the best option is to replace that A-frame coupler with a new one that attaches to a 2 inch hitch ball. There is a similar option with a yoke latch, the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B. There is a bolt-on option as well if you'd like, the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler with Jack Hole - eZ-Latch # DM14793-81.

  • Recommended 2" and 2-5/16" A-Frame Couplers for an Older Trailer
I took a look at your current situation and it's looking like there isn't going to be a replacement latch kit available unfortunately. Instead, you're going to need to replace the entire coupler with something like the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B which is a weld-on style replacement that'll work with 2" hitch balls and has an 8,000 lb capacity. If you needed a 2-5/16" coupler, then the # CA-5400-B would be better suited for you. This coupler is also has a weld-on install and...

  • Can Yoke Style Trailer Coupler Be Repaired
I do have an option for you but coupler repair parts aren't universal so if any of the internal latching mechanisms are damaged or worn on your trailer coupler then chances are high it will need to be replaced for which we offer the A-Frame Trailer Coupler part # CA-5210-B. This coupler will need to be welded to the frame for installation so a local shop is likely your best option for replacement.

  • Recommended Trailer Coupler Lock for A-Frame with Trigger Latch
Do you have a photo of your trailer coupler? If it looks like the A-Frame Coupler part # CA5100B then yes, the Master Lock Heavy-Duty Coupler and Latch Lock Combo part # 3784DAT should work for you as that is what it is primarily designed to fit. I have attached a review video on a straight trailer coupler but it will also work on a-frame trailer couplers as well.

  • Solution for A-Frame Trailer Coupler Yoke Latch Replacement
If you're asking if the yoke latch on a coupler like # CA-5210-B can be repaired it depends on the brand and if a repair kit is available. We do not carry any repair kits for a yoke latch coupler. More often than not replacement is necessary. You can certainly use this coupler with a yoke latch for replacement or the # DM14793-81 you were looking at. I would personally choose the Demco with the eZ-Latch since it lets you hook up when in the closed position. It also has repair kits should...

  • Recommended A-Frame Coupler for Flatbed/Car Hauler Trailer
The Yoke style or Collar-Lok style couples are definitely the best to use when it comes to loading heavy weight in a trailer, like a car. I recommend looking into the weight of your trailer and the vehicle you plan on hauling before deciding on a coupler. The A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B is a great option that is rated for up to 8,000 lbs but if you are needing something rated even higher than that the Bulldog Collar-Lok # BD028463 or # BD028499 is the better route to go as they...

There are three sizes of hitch ball that are all in the same general size ballpark: 1-7/8-inch, 50mm and 2-inch. If your coupler has an adjustment option that may do the trick, but if not you may want to replace the coupler with one that does indicate the correct ball size. I recommend Demco A-frame standard coupler that takes a 2" ball part # DM14793-81 because of its eZ-Latch mechanism. The eZ-Latch mechanism makes hooking up easy and disengaging the coupler easy. It's designed with a 2-1/4" diameter jack hole for the jack to fit through. It is also a bolt on design.
