Today we're going to take a look at the A frame trigger latch coupler with the black powder coat finish, for a two inch hitch ball. This A frame coupler will let you hook up your trailer to you tow vehicle, provide you a connection point for the hitch ball. Now this uses a trigger latch design, which allows for safe and easy coupling and uncoupling of your trailer to the hitch ball. Basically you just put your finger on the trigger latch right here, pull up on it, then pull up on the latch itself, and that'll open up the ball socket underneath. Basically the way to install it, I happen to pull here a two inch diameter hitch ball. Basically you just drop it with it in the open position, you drop the coupler right on to the hitch ball, and then just fully completely close your trigger latch. As you do that, the trigger latch will actually lock into place right there, and then you're all attached, ready to go.
If you want to, the hole right here will allow for a coupler lock to go through, for extra security. To release it, just pull up on the trigger latch, lift the latch up and it'll release it from the hitch ball. This is made of a sturdy steel construction, has a nice black powder coat finish, to provide corrosion resistance. It is an A frame design, so it is designed to mount to a fifty degree trailer tongues. It is a weld-on installation, it is also SAEJ684 certified. If you notice the hole here in the back, that is your built-in jack attachment point, allows for quick, easy mounting of a round utility jack.
The hole diamter right there, I'll put a measurement on it for you, it's going to be right at two and a quarter inches. You also notice there's three threaded holes right here for installation of the jack, so it will require three, three eighths by sixteen inch sized bolts for installing your jack to this. Again, this is designed to fit a ball size of two inches, total weight capacity on it is five thousand pounds, tongue weight capacity is seven hundred pounds. The pinhole diameter right here, which is designed for the coupler lock is five sixteenths of an inch, and just to give you some overall dimensions, the width from edge to edge is going to be right at ten inches. The length from this end to this end is going to be right at thirteen and three eighths inches long. That should do it for the review of the A frame, trigger latch coupler, with the black powder coat finish, for the two inch hitch ball..

I have no idea who is packaging these, but they have no idea what they are doing. These packages with 4 jacks and a coupler in it look like they've been ran over by a truck. The coupler was missing.

Only intermittant use, but coupler still working well. Just one word of advice, if you are going to use it on a trailer that is going to be pulled by an ATV, the location of the hole for the trailer jack ends up making the trailer jack too close to the back of the ATV, where I can't put the coupler on the ball on the ATV. I was able to solve this by getting an extension piece (basically part C45006) for my ATV to move the trailer back a bit from the back of the ATV. This would be a problem with any A-frame coupler though.

It might be possible to give 5 stars but after purchasing all the products about a year ago, my little fiberglass trailer is not even close to being ready. All the lighting is hooked up and they all seem to work, so that's a good thing. The other products that I purchased have not been installed yet.
I would like to mention how pleased I am with e-trailer videos showing everyone how their products look and how they're used. Keep it up, I am a happy customer.

I purchased items to build 2 complete trailers, including axles, springs, hitches, lights and wiring etc. The service was outstanding! The items were delivered on time and correctly.

The coupler that came with my trailer was slightly misshapen, causing a back and forth jerking motion within the tow vehicle. We ground off the old one and welded on this new one - problem solved! I especially like that the mechanism on this coupler is both adjustable and easy to hook up and unhook.

I just used the handle and the internal parts but the price was not bad and the shipping was not that expensive. I was quoted $85.00 and Shipping and headlining from the local RV place at $100.00. After paying $18.95 and shipping of around $9.00. Now I can go on my next camping adventure after saving $72.00. I even called e-trailer and the lady was very helpful and very friendly. So since the coupler uses a non-standard bolt pattern for the jack I'd recommend replacing the coupler and jack together like with the # CA5100B for a coupler and then for a jack the # TJA-5000S-B would be a great option.
