eZ-Latch Coupler

This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the contoured handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball. The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is also constructed of a durable composite material that's corrosion-proof, allowing it to withstand whatever the road and the elements dish out.

Installed this 1 year ago on a friend's trailer. He loves it. Strong secure and easy to hook up. Only wish we had done it sooner. Used 6 grade 8 bolts and washers and welded along the back edge. Has not moved. Light sanding and white paint has stayed adhered. Waiting? Stop you will not regret getting this coupler.

by:

This is the bomb! Effortless to mount and dismount a trailer.

by:

Well built and excellent finish. I especially like the auto lock feature. It makes it really easy to hook up.

by:

I have used this coupler for a year and I like it better than the one that came with the trailer originally. It just snaps on and locks. No fussing. My only problem with it is that it doesn't come for 30° A-frame trailers so I had to weld it on and it looks funny...

by:

purchased 1 year ago - strong solid product, good price, easy to install, can recommend and would buy again

by:

Love it! As easy as you can get for a coupler. Don't hesitate if you need a replacement.

by:

Great product, superior quality. Easy i nstallation

Excellent replacement part

by:

Way better than the couple I had on my trailer. I'll end up changing to these on all of my trailers.

by:

Perfect fit. Easy istallation.

by:

This was a huge upgrade to my trailer, once my prior coupler broke I was told this was the way to go. Would purchase again in a heartbeat!

by:

Love this coupler, took some work to install it but tows great now and love the easy latch/unlatch

by:

The product came in pre-scratched! I know it's coupler, but I can scratch it up myself!

by:

Very High Quality! Shipped Fast and Quick to Respond to Messages!

by:

Exactly as advertised. Can't wait to install it. E-trailer is my go to source for all my trailer parts.

by:

Dimensions incorrect. Product severely banged up!

I am sorry that it arrived damaged. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Very nice construction, but horribly scratched on arrival. I am keeping it since I have to make some minor mods and paint anyway.

by:

Fit great!

by:

So easy to use! Back up drop her down, latch up, latch down this hitch doesn't care. Wish it was a factory option on my new GeoPro.

by:

Good looking, got here fast and seems heavy duty with excellent finish.

by:

I have been changing out all of my trailer hitch couplers to the Demco Cast head design.
These are by far the best couplers on the market.
Super strong and they do not require a safety pin to keep them latched, it says so right on the side of the couplers. I have never had a Demco latch come off, not the case with other lesser quality couplers.
etrailer is by far the best place to get Demco couplers, they have the best price, crazy fast deliveries, and great customer service.

by:

Wonderful workmanship. Almost hate to use it. Release lever genius.

by:

Time will tell on the mechanism, but so far it's great! Overall a nicely made coupler.

by:

Ordering was easy and shipping was fast. Thanks!

by:

Received yesterday had to go to ups and pickup. UPS SUCKS welded on this morning. Never had or saw a hitch like this, I have been a die hard bulldog hitch guy. We shall see

by:

I am sold on Demco couplers I I have changed out most of the couplers on my trailers to Demco.
etrailer is the best place to get them

  • Recommended Lock for a Demco EZ Latch Coupler
For the Demco EZ Latch Coupler like item # DM37ZR that does not have a lip around it you would want the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock item # DT25013KA. This is by far the best and most compatible option of the ones you listed. If you have more than one coupler you are needing a lock for you can select keyed alike and order as many locks as you need and they will all be controlled by the same key. I have linked a review video below.

  • Do Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler DM14793-81 and Demco Cast Head Coupler DM37ZR Use Same Hole Pattern
The Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler part # DM14793-81 and Demco Cast Head Coupler part # DM37ZR both install using the same three hole pattern spaced 3" apart on center so you should be able to switch between them pretty easily.

  • Is There a Replacement for the Lippert 2 Inch Latch Coupler Repair Kit 678750
I do have an option for you but latch repair kits are coupler specific and there are very few out there. Furthermore, the Lippert 2" Latch Coupler Repair Kit 678750 is no longer available and I know this isn't what you want to hear but the only option we can offer is a new coupler. I recommend the Demco Cast Head Coupler part # DM37ZR since it just bolts on so all you'll have to do is cut the old one off but there is no welding required. Unfortunately, we cannot advise on retrofitting...

There is indeed a pin lock for the Demco Cast Head Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch - 2" Ball # DM37ZR. In fact, there is one made specifically for this coupler, from InfiniteRule: - InfiniteRule Lock for Demco eZ-Latch Trailer Couplers # IR66FR Not only is this lock made for this coupler, but it is also extremely strong, with a tested shear strength of 42,000 lbs.

  • Comparing Demco A-Frame Coupler DM37ZR and DM14793-81
You are correct. Other than how they are made, the Demco Cast Head Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch - 2" Ball - A-Frame - Bolt-On - 10K # DM37ZR and the # DM14793-81 have the same ratings and will work the same. There is no pro or con to either, so I recommend going with the one that is the most cost effective at the time. I included videos of the # DM14793-81 for you to take a look at.

  • Standard Angle for A-Frame Trailer Tongue for Coupler Replacement
The standard angle for an A-frame trailer tongue is 50 degrees. More than likely your trailer follows the standard. Since you are unsure, you could measure it using a tool like a protractor. The Demco Cast Head Coupler # DM37ZR you looked at fits the standard A-frame and would be a great replacement choice.

  • Is There a Replacement Coupler Repair Kit for a United Trailer
It sounds like you might be looking for a trailer coupler repair kit for your trailer and if that's the case I do have some options but you're going to need to replace the entire coupler as they don't offer repair kits for the vast majority of trailer couplers. We also can't look up what trailer coupler any one particular trailer uses. I recommend the Demco Cast Head Coupler part # DM37ZR since it's bolt-on so all you need to do is cut off the old one. • Difference Between 10K Demco eZ-Latch Couplers
The only differences between the Demco eZ-Latch Couplers # DM37ZR and # DM14793-81 is that the former has integrated loop holes for installing safety chains and a about a 2" drop while the latter doesn't come with provisions for attaching the safety chains and has the coupler in-line with the trailer frame. Aside from that everything else is the same.

  • Mounting Hardware Needed for 10K Demco Cast Head Coupler eZ Latch
The Demco Cast Head Coupler eZ Latch # DM37ZR coms as the coupler only so you would need to supply the mounting hardware. You will need 1/2" bolts that are at least Grade 5 rated. Anything higher than that will just be even stronger and work just fine. Attached is a review video for you to check out!

  • Replacement Trailer Coupler For A Shelby 5101 Trailer
Yes, you can replace your weld-on coupler with a bolt-on coupler you will just have to drill the holes The Demco Cast Head Coupler w/ Jack Hole # DM37ZR would be a good replacement. The coupler has a 10,000 pound weight capacity and will fit a 2 inch ball. I recommend this coupler over other couplers because of the eZ-Latch mechanism. It will ensure a simple, secure hookup and disconnect. We do not have an installation video on this product.

  • Can Older Marvel Trailer Coupler Be Repaired
Thank you for the photos! It looks like Marvel used to be associated with Atwood and they went out of business a while ago. We have some similar coupler styles but I'm not seeing that any of our repair kits having the same design as your coupler so what I recommend doing is replacing the coupler completely. • Replacement For Cracked Trailer Coupler
Yes, you need to replace that cracked coupler right away. I'm not sure from the photo what ball size it takes or if you have a straight tongue trailer or A-frame, but get something with a good powder coat or one that is zinc-plated if this is a boat trailer, like the Demco Cast Head Coupler - A-Frame # DM37ZR or Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95. The repair kits we currently carry are just replacement trigger latches which are brand specific so you would probably end up paying more trying to get all the parts you need instead of just replacing the coupler. It would honestly just be safer and easier to completely replace the current coupler any way. • Can Demco Trailer Coupler # DM37ZR be Welded On
Yes, if you wanted to weld on the Demco coupler part # DM37ZR instead of bolting it on you certainly could. This is powdercoated though so you will need to remove the powdercoating first. For a similar coupler that was designed to be welded on and instead is just primed we have the part # DM14791-97 which has a 10k capacity, the same latch design, and fits a 2 inch hitch ball.
