etrailer delivered on time as promised and I had no problems with the order. The product was as described and works perfectly with my Husky Centerpoint hitch. The large adjustment range lets me level my trailer when towing with my 3/4 ton Silverado. I have now towed my trailer about 15,000 miles with it and had no problems.

Still working great, my camper pulls nice and level. And I still highly recommend etrailer.

by:

Was exactly what I was looking for.

Every time I place an order with etrailer I know it will be correct. The service is great, Thank you!

I recently bought a new truck (Ram 2500 3/4 ton). My old truck was a Ram 1500 1/2 ton. My Husky hitch was fine on the 1500 truck, but not on the 2500, it sits a LOT higher off the ground. I needed a drop hitch that fit my Husky, and you guys HAVE IT. It worked out great, first trip out today with it, everything level and no sag on truck or camper. As stated in your catalog, this Curt brand DOES fit my Husky brand, NO PROBLEM. Thank you, what a life saver on not having to buy a whole new hitch.

by:

Heavy and solid, extremely well built. 100% what I need.

by:

Wow, ordered a very heavy part on Monday afternoon, got it Wed morning. Its perfect! Thank you

by:

Great selection of products and excellent customer service!!!

by:

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, Now I have all Curt equipment on the truck, and super fast delivery. A+ job thank you

by:

My initial review of the hitch’s quality and finish is impressive. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to hook it up to the trailer yet due to our current snow conditions. That being said, my transfer of my previous receiver looks flawless to this one and should work very well. Going from a Tundra to a Ram 2500, there is a significant height difference. All my measurements in the garage look to be just what I needed. I’m very confident I’ve made the correct purchase!

by:

Very good quality, heavy duty construction and nice finish. Recently changed tow vehicle and needed to add more drop. This shank did the job.

by:

This is a good drop shank if you have a truck that is leveled with oversized tires.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room for the adjustment needed. Excellent quality product, well fabricated. Very good customer service and speedy delivery time. Ordered on a Monday morning and had the part before 1pm the next day.

Ordered on Tuesday and in my hand on Thursday. Love this company

by:

I needed a weight distribution system and quickly realized that Curt was the best around. You get what you pay for so why not get the best!? Very simple to install and with the correct routine maintenance this will last forever, Shipping was fast and box was In good shape when it arrived.

by:

I recently purchased a 2015 Tahoe and since the trailer hitch is positioned above the bumper as opposed to my 2000 Tahoe which has the hitch located below the bumper, I had to find and purchase a new receiver. I found this product at etrailer and it fits perfectly. It is compatible with the Drawtite weight distribution ball.

Great!

by:

Needed a new shank as I bought the Class 5 hitch for my dodge,, I bought the class 5 that fit under the stock hitch and wish I had not, but after thought etc,, should have just removed the class 3 and bought a different 5,., all in all worked out but a new shank because my hitch was now lower than what it was, I probably didnt need a new one because after all the measuring etc,, ( Have to go to a parking lot as I live in dirt) to make it level, worked out fine.

excellent quality, worked great and was major improvement towing my race car

by:

The shank was not in stock when I ordered it and I was concerned it wouldn't come in time for my camping trip. I sent an email asking about the delivery date and I received a response the same day letting me know when it would be received from the manufacturer and shipped to me. I did receive it exactly when they said and also got an email letting me know when it shipped. It was a pleasure dealing with etrailer!!

Its a shank, what can I say. It was exactly what I needed and its still towing my trailer perfectly.

by:

This product fit my needs for lowering my hitch point to make the trailer tow level. Absolutely no problems!

Still working fine.

by:

After getting a new truck that sets a little higher I thought I would have to buy a complete new weight distribution hitch. I was able to find just the shank part at etrailer.

by:

I have been ordering from etrailer for years. The items I receive are always of good quality and are Ata reasonable price.

by:

etrailer customer service is outstanding. I needed a long drop down receiver for my lifted truck and Meghan L talked with me on the phone for about 45 minutes. We did measurements and looked for a while to make my trailer ride level. Meghan was very helpful and the product has been top quality. Thank you for all your help.

by:

It is what it says, it's a good quality drop or rise shank. measure carefully to make sure of how much drop or rise you need.

  • Replacement Shank for Use with Pro Series Weight Distribution Hitch
You can use a replacement weight distribution (WD) shank with your Pro Series setup. This will allow you to have the correct height without affecting the head angle. All shanks for WD systems are standardized for both hole size and hole spacing so any brand of shank can be substituted for the original one. I linked a page showing all 2-inch shanks, any of which will fit your system. For instance, Curt shank # C17123 has 10 adjustment holes that run along the entire vertical portion. Reese...

  • Shank for Bigger Drop With Weight Distribution Hitch for 2 Inch Receiver
Yes, you will need to set it up all over again for the different height of your new truck, just like you did initially. You can find out how to do this in the instruction manual of whichever hitch you currently have, like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET.

  • Could Curt Shank # C17123 be Used with Ram 1500 and Fastway E2 System
The overall height of the Curt shank part # C17123 being 13-1/2 inches would not be too tall for a full sized truck like your Ram 1500. This shank is also perfectly compatible with a Fastway e2 system like you have as well so it would work great in that regard as well.

  • Alternate Shank For a Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution System That Provides 8" of Drop
I am not completely sure what you mean by 8". Are you referencing the drop? The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE44FR comes with the Reese Weight Distribution Shank # RP69FR which is 9-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the adjustment holes. It provides up to 9" of rise and 4" of drop. If you are talking about needing 8" of drop, you can use the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank # C17123 which does provide up to 8.5" of drop.

  • Drop Shank Recommendation for Curt Weight Distribution
I would strongly recommend you go with a shank that offers more drop than the one that comes with the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 that you referenced if your trailer is sitting nose high by about 2-1/2 inches with the included shank. The part # C17123 should be perfect as it offers up to 8-1/4 inches of drop, which is more than enough for your setup. Since your loaded tongue weight is right around 800 lbs this system should work very well for you once you get the...

  • Drop Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation
Most weight distribution systems use the same hole pattern on their shanks so we have found that nearly all of the shanks out there for WD systems will work. If you need up to a drop of 5-3/4 inches you would want the part # 17120, or if you need more drop part # C17123 which can do up to 8-1/4 inches. As long as the holes on your current shank are 1-1/4 inches apart on center this would work well for you.

  • Using A Weight Distribution Hitch On Truck With 2" Level Kit
You will need an adjustable shank for your weight distribution hitch in order to keep the trailer level with your ball mount. You can use something like Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment, part # C17123, to adjust the height of your ball mount. I have included a product description link, a video installation link, and a weblink to our adjustable ball mounts below.

  • Adjustments a Weight Distribution System Might Need When Going to New Truck
If your new truck sits higher and you haven't lowered the head of the system on the shank to compensate for the change that would be your issue. You need to use the correct amount of drop on the shank to allow the trailer to sit as level as possible. It's also possible you need a new shank to allow more drop as well. If you need up to a drop of 5-3/4 inches you would want the part # 17120, or if you need more drop part # C17123 which can do up to 11-1/2 inches. Once that is sit it's probably...

  • Truck Sags from Trailer Tongue Weight with Round Bar Weight Distribution Hitch
It sounds to me that you may simply have a weight distribution system that is not rated high enough for the tongue weight (TW) of the loaded trailer. Since your truck is a recent model year, I would not expect there to be an issue with its suspension. It is simple enough to measure the fully loaded trailer tongue weight using scale # e99044. Also keep in mind that if there is any cargo in the bed that sits behind the rear axle, such as a generator or big loaded cooler, this cargo weight...

  • Drop Shank Options for Husky Centerline Weight Distribution System
All of the weight distribution systems use the same shank mounting dimensions so other brands of weight distribution shanks can be used with your Husky Centerline TS. Though it will depend on how much drop is needed, and you do have 1-1/2" up and down to still technically be level, we do have a couple other shanks that will offer more drop. The Curt # 17120 will offer 5-3/4" drop and the # C17123 will offer 8-1/4" of drop. These will cover most vehicles and are both rated to 1,500 pounds of tongue weight and 15,000 pounds towing,...
