I installed this hitch for my grandfather, so he could hall around his scooter on a hitch mounted cargo carrier. I was a bit skeptical when I read the instructions and they stated an install time of about 40 minutes, so I timed it. They were just about spot on. From the time I brought the car into the garage and jacked it up, to torqueing down the hardware; I was done in 59 minutes. (I timed it) Very easy install. It would have been nice to have a second set of hand to help me hoist up the hitch, but it is doable with one. I'm excited to see my grandpa use it in action!

What a great experience! Ordered on Friday, shipped on Sunday via UPS ground, received it on Wednesday, and installed it today in about an hour. Service was great, with emails before shipping, during shipping (w/tracking link), and after arrival with helpful information. I'm not a mechanic and installed it by myself in my garage after sunset so I had to use a flashlight to help on the visibility. Installation was still as easy as the videos on the etrailer website demonstrated. It was a little heavy and you do need to be careful because I did knock one of the bolts up into the frame and had to fish it out. It wasn't too hard to get out but I did get that sinking feeling! Make sure you have a deep socket and a 4" extension to help ensure you have good clearance when tightening the nuts. The receiver is as invisible as the pictures on the website show. I'll use etrailer for all of my future towing equipment needs!!! Thanks to George, Josh, and Patrick!

Im as happy today as I was a year ago. Ive used the hitch more times than I can count and havent had any troubles at all. Now Ive gotten a follow-up email asking how things have worked out...and I couldnt feel any better. Thanks again for putting out a product that works as advertised and for the prompt and thorough customer service!!

I have put several hitches on different vehicles I have owned...This one from CURT and Etrailer was actually A PLEASURE!!...the Curt hitch was nicely welded, and fit into place perfectly...the "threader" worked beautifully also, what a simple but great invention...every hole was spot on from hitch to frame of auto...the video on E Trailer site showing MY CAR was awesome (the car was even the same COLOR as mine)...the demo and instructions could not possibly be any better!!...this is my second or third purchase from ETrailer...always happy...would HIGHLY recommend to anyone...

I have a 2012 Impala and the video installation was absolutely perfect. I jacked the car up and supported it with jack stands and then followed the video. All done in one hour by myself. If you carefully put on the two front 1 1/2" bolts with your fingers you can easily put on the remaining bolts without any problems. The shipping is very fast. Great product!!! I am going to mount a carrier for my brother's power wheel chair so he can finally get out with me. Thank You for the video installation a great selling point.

After one year, the hitch and wiring is perfect. Great Product!!

by:

Easy to install! Directions were easy to follow, haven’t tried It out yet, but happy installation went well.

by:

Excellent product, very easy to install. Cool how the fishwife works. It took me longer to jack the vehicle than to install the hitch. 2 people would make the job easier but I was able to do it myself by using a jack stand to support one side of the hitch while I started the nuts on the other. Took 30 min once vehicle was off the ground. If I have a criticism it would be the price was great on the hitch but accessories were a bit pricey, they can be found elsewhere for significantly less.

A year later and my hitch is perfect. I have gotten a lot of use out of it and it shows no signs of corrosion at all. Im very satisfied with the product.

by:

Well made at an affordable price. I got it on without a full car lift but only a jack; a bit harder, but just needed either a second set of hands or a block of wood to help position and lift the hitch. All-in-all, I'm happy with it!

this trailer had the right hardware and came with an easy to use bolt fishing tool to make installation incredibly easy. For my model of impala I found out would have been impossible to install without their thoroughness in making the installation instructions and hardware as complete as they did.

Being that it was custom made for my model (not a universal model) every bolt hole was where it needed to be. It was the easiest hitch install ever.
A year later and the salty winter roads of New York haven’t touched the paint finish on the hitch (I do inspections after winter and in the fall of all my cars because of the salt and do cleanings, and paint touch ups)

I have to say the product is great but also had great experience with ordering it as well :)

I got a new Impala and needed a trailer hitch to take my boat to the lake, and for my last car I had taken it to a local shop to install one. But when I inquired into the cost of a new hitch and installation I got sticker shock. So I went online to eTrailer to do some shopping. The price for the hitch was very affordable and I endeavored to get one and install it myself, and save some money. The installati0on videos for the hitch and the wiring harness were really good, and gave me the confidence that I could install it myself. The hitch came, and I got my tools and had it installed wit the harness in about 30 minutes... it was incredibly easy and I was able to take my boat to the lake immediately after for my first sail of the year. The eTrailer staff was very helpful and I highly recommend them, I really felt that I was dealing with a company that took customer service seriously. My experience getting this hitch and installing it was flawless... if you're looking for a hitch and you are a little scared of the installation... take heart... this company gives you everything you need including video instruction. And the price was very affordable.

This was easy to install with just some jacks to lift the car and something to tighten the bolts with and the muffler dropped down by just using silicon spray on the rubber mounts and pushing them off the hangers then pushing them back on after the hitch was installed. Fast shipping, all the parts where included, easy to order, I would buy from etrailer again!

Easy, simple and straight forward install. Follow all recommendations to install safely. Please have someone help you, it made all the difference in completing the job within an hour or so. We removed the exhaust hangers as described in the video and the install went smoothly from that point forward. Just ordered part 118417 (T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector). We'll have a fully functioning tow package within a week. This is one of those 'Easy Button' tasks!

I can not begin to let you know how happy I was of my puchasing experience with your company. Your web site made it easy to select exactly what I needed for my vehicle (both hitch and wiring harness). Your communication from the time I received my confirmed order to the time it was delivered to my home was outstanding. I was in no hurry to receive this purchase so I ordered with ground shipping. SHIPPING WAS FREE!!! Then through you great communications, you indicated it was shipping "priority" at no additional cost to me...unheard of. I recieved this yesterday and never opened the box. Today as I was driving home from work, I was mad at myself for not opening the box to see what hardware I would need to purchase. When I opened the box today, taped to the hitch was a bag clearly indicating "hardware". The products I ordered arrived on time (early actually), free from damage, AND, exactly as I ordered them, The order was complete. It took me as long to locate my jack, jack stands, torque wrench and tools, as it did to complete the installation.

You can be proud of your company and your vendors for providing top notch products and service.

Easy to install after viewing instruction video. Don't be intimidated by the fact that you have to lower the exhaust. If you do this with the car on the ground you can use a car jack to lower the exhaust and easily slip the hitch in place. I love how inconspicuous the hitch is on the car, you would never know it was there if you didn't look for it.

by:

The quality of the hitch is amazing. Installation was straight world and simple. I use this hitch to haul my mountain bike around to towing a utility trailer. Glad I purchased one finally.

by:

Quick shipping (with a major cost), great service, and great product that suits our needs perfectly.

by:

Well built, everything fit as it should. No missing parts. Instructions said 60 minutes installation time for a novice, took me about an hour and a half due to operator error (put the wrong length bolts in a couple of holes) and had to let the dogs out three or four times. Instructions (plus the video) were very clear and helpful. Helpful tip, definitely put the car up on ramps, the extra ground clearance is nice to have. A bit awkward to lift the unit by yourself, but do-able, just take it easy. Everything fit well. The bolt fishing wire process is a bit tedious, but not having to do any drilling is well worth a menial task. Exhaust hangers come off pretty easy, go back on a lot easier. All in all, good solid product, no issues, very satisfied.

Hitch is great, Curt makes a good product. Easy to install by myself. Takes a little longer with dual exhaust on 2014 Impala than it did on 2007 Impala single exhaust. Etrailer has great pricing so it is worth it.

by:

Everything excellent until hit by distracted driver and totaled car. I’m ordering new hitch for different car next.

by:

Hitch come was packed incredibly well. Was a snap to put on. Had it on and torqued down in less than a half hour. The wiring was plug in and everything worked. Was really satisfyed with the price, service, and time it took to get it.

by:

It was just like they said about 45 minutes to install the trailer hitch .
Who ever design this hitch did their home work .
I would recommend it to anyone !!!!

  • Is The Class 2 Hitch For The 2003 Chevy Impala The Same For 2000-2016 Impalas?
Good morning Jon. The class 2 hitch for the 2003 Chevy Impala, the Curt # C12252, will fit the following model years: 2000 - 2013 Chevrolet Impala 2014 - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited So, this hitch can definitely be transferred to many other model years. For the 2014 and newer Impala (excluding limited) you would need to get a new hitch. For these newer years, fitment is not quite as cut and dry since there are more sub-models to choose from like LS, LT, LTZ, Premier etc. For example,...
