Recommendations for Carrying Rascal Mobility Scooter With Hitch Mounted Carrier on 2000 Chevy Impala
Question:
I need a solution for carrying a Rascal Mobility scooter behind a 2000 Chevy Impala. Id like to know what products you supply that can help me accomplish this. It appears to me that the usual method of using a hitch mounted carrier will exceed the weight limitations of any hitch I could install. Am I correct? Do I need a small trailer or can I make a carrier work with the right hitch? FYI the scooter itself weighs more than 200 lbs.

Although we don't offer a hitch mounted carrier that would be compatible with the hitches available for your vehicle, we do offer a small utility trailer that would be ideal. I recommend using # K2MMT5X7.
For a hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Classs II hitch, part # 36407. To complete your towing system, you also need the following:
Ball mount, part # 36061
2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258
Trailer wiring harness, part # C56116
