A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

This light is an exact replacement for the carry on 817-2T. Just what I needed to replace a broken light on my carry on trailer. Since both lights are made in Taiwan I suspect they are made at the same factory.

Would have given 5 stars had you included the 2 screws needed to install them— could only install 2 because I lost the other 4 screws I needed or they were too rusted to use— now I will have to take the extra time and trip to hardware store to try to find 4 screws needed to install— otherwise the lights fit and worked just fine.
etrailer had the exact side/reflector lights I needed to replace those that I recently smashed. The cost of the lights was reasonable, as was shipping. And I didn't have to drive anywhere to seek them out.
The lights were shipped and received as promised. I'm sure I'll be back. I smash trailer lights on a regular basis.
The follow up from etrailer.com was timely and helpful, also.
And I never do reviews, but this transaction was a pleasure.

One year later, I still have the trailer lights that I reviewed above, they work and look like I want them to. So far, no one has damaged them. But, hay-hauling season is coming. Ill be back here to buy more soon Im sure.

This light does not come with the mounting hardware. Most of the lights like this will not come with with mounting hardware however if they do it would be listed in the product page.
