Helpful Expert Reply:
The only hitches made for your 2011 Chevrolet Impala are the 1-1/4-inch Class II variety like Draw-Tite # 36407 and the Curt # C12252. No higher-capacity 2-inch hitches are made for the car because its frame does not have the strength to handle that higher load. You should note that bike rack makers including Yakima, Saris and Swagman do not recommend using hitch adapters with their racks. Doing so can void the rack warranty.
Your best solution for the Impala is to select compatible Class II accessory carriers like the bike and cargo carriers I have linked for you.
You will want to select carriers that offer at least 8-inches of clearance from their hitch pin hole; this will avoid the carrier from contacting the bumper cover. A great bike rack choice is the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR which has over a foot of clearance.
