Video Transcript for Review of Flint Hill Goods - Serrated Hex Flange Nut - 185917

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the M8-1.25 steel zinc-plated serrated hex flange nut. This is for a quantity of one. Now, this can be used on the Chevrolet and GMC trucks to connect the factory run 12-volt lead and the trailer brake power lead to the post in the fuse box under the hood. This nut is a steel construction, has a nice sink-plated finish to it. It is a class eight grade serrated flange nut.

The size again we mentioned is M8-1.25 coarse thread, and the hex head size is 13 millimeters. But that should do it for the review on this M8-1.25 steel zinc-plated serrated hex flange nut.

Fits as needed for installing a trailer brake on a 2013 Yukon

by:

Well, it's a nut. Not much that can go wrong. Used this on my GMT400 Yukon. (1996 Yukon) for the AUX post in the fuse box for installing my trailer brake controller and to get AUX power for the trailer plug.

by:

The item that arrived did NOT fit the stud in my engine compartment for the factory wiring for brake controller on my 2013 GMC Yukon- the nut that arrived was about three times larger than needed- I called to report this, spoke with Ashley and there was no answer how to get the correct nut needed

  • How to get Power to the 7-Way on a 2004 Chevrolet Pickup for Installation of the Prodigy RF
Under the hood of the 2004 Chevrolet pickup there are two power posts located at the power distribution box, see photo at right. The most forward power post is the one that is used for supplying power to the 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle. There should be a large 40 amp fuse at the location nearest the power stud and a M8 nut, item # 185917, is used to attach the power wire to the stud. If there is a fuse that is not working or a dummy at this location you will need to replace...

  • Which Size Circuit Breaker Is Needed For Tekonsha Primus IQ In 1996 Chevrolet Suburban
Thanks for the kind words! Starting with the # ETBC7, you are right on that you will connect the factory run blue and orange wires to the 7-way connector, and will connect them to the studs on the fuse box of your 1996 Chevrolet Suburban using the # DW05705-1 and # 185917. The 30 amp fused post will be fine to connect the orange 12v power wire to. You will need to add a grommet to the firewall to get the factory blue brake output wire to the trailer brake controller. We used the # SWC8057...

Sure thing! I have attached the article below that goes into detail about how you can install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 on your 2013 GMC Yukon. Additionally, since GM does not supply the attaching nut required to secure the wires to the studs. You'll need 1 Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut # 185916 & 1 Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut # 185917.

  • Lights Inside the Trailer Won’t Come on all the Lights on the Outside Work Where is the Problem
It could be. There a several things that could be going on but we should test first to make sure you have 12 volts of power on the 1 o'clock pin on the truck. It is likely that it does not have power. The light are all separate from the power going to the interior of your trailer. You will want to locate the power distribution box on the drivers side of the engine bay. Remove the cover on the distribution box. There will be two post terminals at the front of the box. The right post terminal...

  • Recommended Brake Controller For a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Z71
There are many great brake controllers available but my favorites are the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR and Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. You can choose the one that best fits your preference. I find the P3 # 90195 is the easiest to use out of the box and for troubleshooting issues. It has a customizable LCD screen that give you all the information you could want and is easy to read. It's a proportional controller so once its set for that...

  • What Is The Proper Direct Wire Harness For The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 On My 2013 Chevrolet Suburban?
For your 2013 Chevrolet Suburban, there is not a direct wire harness for a brake controller. Your Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195 will have to be hard wired. No plug is present under the dash, but the needed wires are already run. You will se a bundle of wires wrapped with a white tag to the left of the brake pedal. You will need to connect the brake controller to that vehicle wiring already present under the dash. You will also want the 6mm nut # 185916 and the 8mm nut # 185917. I've...

One wire is located between the fuse box and the driver side fender, the other wire is located under the brake master cylinder.
