Ordered a hitch harness along w/discrete wires. All came in as ordered. Harness is a well made custom overmolded product that includes various/appropriate AWG wires for each pin/connector. Looks like it w/last a long time.

  • What Gauge Wire To Use For Lighting On A Box Truck
For that I recommend using either a 14 or 16 gauge wire. Either will able to safely handle the amp load for the lights on your box truck. We offer the # DW02412-1 for a 14 gauge or the # 16-1-1 for a 16 gauge wire. Both are sold by the foot.

  • How to Connect Backup Lights When Trailer Isn't Wired For Backup
In order to use the backup lights on the # STL68RB you will need to run additional wire on your trailer. Depending on your trailer connector you may also need to swap out the connection. Starting off lets knock out the trim ring since you mentioned it, which is the # A68SSB. Moving on to the wiring, if you already have a 7-way you can run the yellow # DW02412-1 from the connector on your 7-way back to the lights. Yellow is a common reverse color and this will connect to the brown wire...

  • Wall Adapter Compatibility with 12 Volt Clearance Light
SInce it has a single wire, it is a clearance light. You will use the mounting bracket as your ground as you stated and run 12v power to the wire. You can use a 12v marine battery connecting the negative to the bracket and the positive to the wire. If you want to install a switch like # PK34513 in line that will work well. You can use wire like the 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Yellow - per Foot # DW02412-1. If you want a converter, you can use the # 329-GENIUS2D to connect to a standard...

  • Troubleshooting Blown Brake Light Fuse When Towing Roadmaster Tow Dolly Behind RV
It sounds like you have a short somewhere on your brake light circuit. Since your Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 is newer I believe the problem is on your RV. Start off by checking both the connector on your tow dolly and your RV and make sure that the pins which carry the brake signals (on either side of the connector) are in good condition and don't have any corrosion. If these look good then you will want to check the wiring itself. Look for any places that have exposed or bent wiring...

  • Troubleshooting Left Turn and Running Light Trailer Functions on a 1997 Ford F-350 4x4
It sounds like you spliced in a second 7-Way connector like part # 20023 to the current 7-Way wiring on your 1997 Ford F-350 for an in-bed camper and the lights on the camper aren't working. Is the original 7-Way testing correctly? If it is but the in-bed 7-Way isn't testing correctly then you have isolated the issue to the wiring harness that you installed. If neither are working correctly then I would try testing the wiring before the splice with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to...

  • Troubleshooting No Power to Left Turn/Stop Trailer Fuse on 2005 Chevy Silverado
Since you aren't getting power to either side of the fuse the only way that you could get your left turn/stop circuit to work on the 7-Way of your 2005 Chevy Silverado without taking it in to a shop is to splice in behind your left tail light and route 14 Gauge Wire # DW02412-1 from the left turn/stop circuit to the pin in the 9 o'clock position on your 7-Way. I recommend using heat shrink butt connectors like part # DW05745-5 to do so. If you'd rather not do that then you need to take...

  • Recommended 7-Way Connector for Trailer and Wire for 12V Trickle Charge
Since I am not entirely sure what you have on your trailer, I will give you a few different options for a 7-way trailer end connector. If you only need the plug, I recommend the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Trailer End # PK12706. For a plug that is pre-wired with extra cable, check out the 7-Way Molded Connector w/ 15' Cable - Trailer End # 50-67-103. • Converting 5-Way Round Connector on Trailer to 4-Way Flat Connector for use with a Motorcycle
Since you will be gutting the wiring on your motorcycle trailer what I recommend doing is installing the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Y-Harness # HM48244 along with the Curt Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196. What this does is give you an Easy-Pull harness to make disconnecting your trailer wiring from your motorcycle easier, 2 wires for the running lights, and 2 wires for your stop/turn signals. Since you have separate turn signals simply use the converter to isolate your...

  • Troubleshooting Charge Line Kit Not Working When Flat Towing a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek
What you are describing sounds like the 15A circuit breaker that comes with the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 is shot. This can easily be replaced with another circuit breaker like the 20A # 9506P but since your kit is only a year old it would be good to check your wiring as well as these shouldn't go out that quick. • Troubleshooting Furrion Observation Camera Not Activating on Trailer Due to Low Voltage
The best solution for your problem is to address why your trailer's running light circuit has too low of voltage for the Furrion camera to function. Most likely the wiring of your running light circuit needs to be replaced with a heavier gauge wire. It sounds like the resistance of longer wiring has lowered the voltage which is causing the problem you mentioned. You most likely have 16 or 18 gauge wire ran for this circuit. I'd replace it all with 14 gauge wire like the part # DW02412-1...

  • Can Loading Light Connect to Reverse Light Circuit on Cargo Trailer
You could definitely connect your light to the reverse light circuit on the 7-way. All you need to do is run some wire like # DW02412-1 back to the light and splice it in on the light side of the switch. I don't know of any specific lighting regulations that wouldn't allow this but it is hard to keep track of everything. It is always a good idea to check with MO Highway Patrol. • Troubleshooting Turn Light Fuse Blowing With Cargo Trailer
If you add additional wire you're still going to be getting under the trailer to run it. I would go ahead and look under the trailer to check for a short in the wiring. Many times this can be found near the lights where the wire connects. It would also be a good idea to check out your connector. Make sure it is free from any debris and corrosion. If you don't find anything, instead of running a separate 4-way I would run new wire from the lights to your 7-way connector. It would also be...

  • How to Wire Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator Electric Lockout on Trailer With 7-Way
The Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-20 should be wired to the reverse light circuit on your 7-way. Although I do not have a specific wiring diagram, this is a simple process. There are two wires on your brake actuator. One will be the ground and the other connects to the reverse lights. These are interchangeable so you don't have to worry which you use. The reverse lights should run to the middle pin on your 7-way connector. The wire color is typically going to be yellow...
