E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Some very slight deformation to one of the bearing race rings, but will not interfere with the function. Suggest adding some padding to protect the package of parts in with the hubs.

by:

Working good so far, I have only put about 250 miles on them.

by:

Cost effective solution for hubs that were extremely corroded due to salt and winter driving conditions.

by:

great upgrade for my old 4 lug hubs. Perfect fit!

I ordered two hub assembly kits for my boat trailer. Helen was super knowledgeable and was able to get me the perfect match for what I needed. She even made sure I had grease and new codder pins. I will definitely be using etrailer from now on. Thanks again.

  • Correct Idler Hubs for 2013 Triton LT Single Jet Ski Trailer
The 2013 Triton LT Single Jet Ski Trailer could use either L44643 (1") or L44649 (1.063") bearings so you'll need to pull the hubs apart to see which you need. If it's L44643 then go with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K or if it's L44649 then go with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K.

  • Recommended Galvanized 2K Idler Hub with 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern
It sounds like you're looking for the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K which uses 1" (L44643) bearings or part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K which uses 1.063" (L44649) bearings. These are both galvanized idler hubs with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and utilize removable dust cap covers for use with easy grease spindles.

  • Replacement Hub and Bearing Buddy for 1 inch Spindles with 5 on 4-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
Since you have a 1 inch spindle, you will want the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 8" to 12" Wheels - 5 on 4-1/2 # AKIHUB-545-2-1K and then you will want the Bearing Buddy Grease caps that have the grease zerk. For those caps I recommend the Chrome # BB1980A or Stainless Steel # BB1980A-SS. These grease caps are spring loaded to help you get the right amount of grease and make sure the spindle and bearings are well maintained. Unfortunately that fitting correctly means...

  • Replacement 5 On 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern Boat Trailer Hub for 1 Inch Spindle
Before proceeding, I'd take a moment to confirm the spindle diameter, because there are two different bearing sets that are very close in dimension, so you'll want to be absolutely sure of the measurement you get. We recommend using a digital caliper like part # PTW80157. When dealing with specifying spindle/bearing ID dimensions a ruler or measuring tape typically won't provide enough accuracy which is why using a caliper is preferred. If your spindle measures 1 inch, your hub uses...

  • Availability Of 5 On 4-1/2 Hubs That Go On A Straight Spindle
Your picture did not come thru, but we do offer a few hubs for a straight spindle. For example the hub # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K uses a # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) for both the inner and outer bearing. It also has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This hub would use a 1.99" bearing buddy like the # BB1980A. We also have hubs like the # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K which use a # L44643 (1" inner diameter) inner and outer bearing. These are the only hubs we carry for a straight spindle.

  • All Other Inquiries
It very well may be possible for you to swap out the 4 lug hubs on your pop-up for a 5 lug hub. It comes down to what size spindle/bearings are currently on the trailer. A lot of pop up campers will use a light duty axle rated for 3,500 lbs or less. For example a very common one is a 2,000 lb rated axle, which has a straight spindle and uses either the # L44643 (1" inner diameter) or the # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearings. If you are able to remove one of the hubs you can measure...

  • How To Find Correct Replacement Hubs/Bearings for EZ Loader EZLBW90B Trailer
I don't have a way to look up exact parts for a specific trailer but based on some research online it looks like the trailer might have a weight carrying capacity of 2,350 lbs and in which case you likely have either a 2,000 lb or 2,200 lb axle. That said, I don't know if it uses L44643 (1") or L44649 (1.063") bearing nor do I know the lug pattern so you'll need to count the lug pattern and pull the hubs on the existing trailer to determine these last bits of info. I have attached some...
