  • Is There a 4-Way Flat to &-Way Round Adapter for Boat Trailer with Only 5 Pins
If the trailer has a 7-way round connector with only five pins inside then you would need to use something like the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole Item # 37185 which will plug into the 4-way on the vehicle. Then, you'd extend the purple wire using extra wire part # DW02414-1 to the reverse light circuit. You can find this by testing the wires going into the tail light looking for the one that is only active while the vehicle is in reverse.

  • Wire Gauge Recommendation for Wiring Up Trailer Brakes
For wiring trailer brake assemblies we always recommend going with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot. Even if the leads on the magnets are a smaller gauge it's best to go heavier for the wiring that goes from the trailer connector to the assemblies since that will be a longer distance.

  • Reverse Circuit Wire for 5-Way Boat Trailer Connection
I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57187 as this will allow you use the electric reverse lockout that is on the trailer rather than having to insert and remove the manual lockout when you do back up. And in the future if you tow a trailer that may not have a manual lockout the electric lockout may be the only option. The Blue Wire # DW02414-1 connects to the Adapter # C57187 with the Snap Plug Connectors # DW05729-1, and # DW05712-1.

  • What Gauge Wire Is Safe To Use With Tail Light Converters On My Chevy Silverado.
You can use 14 or 16 gauge wire, either will be able to safely handle the amp load on your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. Here are a few choices we have 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Yellow - # DW02412-1 and 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Red - # DW02422-1 as well as 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue - # DW02414-1.

  • How to Locate Reverse Lamp Circuit to Install 7-way Trailer Connector on 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The easiest place to access it is the harness feeding the taillight assembly. If possible, locate the wire feeding the reverse light bulb, and you can tap into it there, using a length of wire like # DW02414-1 (sold by the foot) long enough to reach the 7-way. No relay would be necessary. If you can't easily narrow down which wire feeds the reverse lamps by sight you can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Have a helper hold down the brake pedal, then probe the harness feeding the taillight...

  • Troubleshooting a Fogatti Water Heater That Has 12V Power But Unit Is Not Operating
Then what is likely happening since you're getting 12V, and the fuse is good on your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot # LSB64FR is a power drop. This is can be easily fixed by beefing up the size of the wire running between the unit and your power size. I'd recommend going with the 14 Gauge Primary Wire # DW02414-1. It also wouldn't hurt to check your ground connections and make sure that the ground wire is running to a bare metal surface and is secured tightly,...

  • How To Convert Backup Camera On 2013 Winnebago View To Observation Camera
You can absolutely change the backup camera on your 2013 Winnebago View built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for constant viewing and you won't need an adapter. Since back up cameras are hooked to the reverse light wire which is what makes them only activate when you are backing up, you will need to find the power wire and hook it up to the running light circuit of your vehicle instead. This will allow the camera to be on any time the running lights of your View are on. The easiest way to...

  • Recommendation for Adding LED Light Strip Under Awning
I recommend installing the Opti-Brite LED Strip Light for RV Awnings # OPT32ER under your awning so you can use it whether your awning is out or in. Since this is a small LED light you should be okay tying into the wiring for the roller lights but I'm not sure I would be comfortable having those roller lights on if the awning is rolled up. Even LED lights can get warm and it probably wouldn't be good to have that directly pressed against the awning fabric. Because of this I recommend routing...

  • What is Needed to Install a 5-Way Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon
I have a solution but there is not a 5-way connector made for your 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon. You will need to first install a 4-Way Connector and then add a 5-way adapter. I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118461 which is a plug and play installation and has its own power wire that gets run to your vehicles battery to keep the harness from pulling power from your vehicles wiring harness. I included an installation video on a Subaru...

  • Reverse Light & Wiring For Boat Trailer
So in order to add a reverse light to your boat trailer, all you need to do is connect the wiring from your junction box or 7-way directly to the reverse light's wires. For reverse lights, if you don't already have wiring at the junction box or your 7-way, what you can do is add 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue - per Foot # DW02414-1. Then you will simply run that wire to the reverse lights, which you can connect with butt connectors. The exact parts you will need to do this are the following: -...

  • Can Curt T-Connector C56329 and Curt 7-way Connector C57672 Use Same Power Wire To Battery?
You will need to run two wires to the battery of your 2009 Ford Escape to install both the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56329 and Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way to 7-Way # C57672. The reason for this is the power wire for the # C56329 uses a 15 amp fuse as it is just for powering the converter for the lights, where the black wire of the # C57672 is for the 12v trailer battery circuit which uses a 30/40 amp circuit breaker. Now...

  • How to Connect Backup Lights When Trailer Isn't Wired For Backup
In order to use the backup lights on the # STL68RB you will need to run additional wire on your trailer. Depending on your trailer connector you may also need to swap out the connection. Starting off lets knock out the trim ring since you mentioned it, which is the # A68SSB. Moving on to the wiring, if you already have a 7-way you can run the yellow # DW02412-1 from the connector on your 7-way back to the lights. Yellow is a common reverse color and this will connect to the brown wire...
