Great. Easy and secure

by:

Great product, same as the one I used hundreds of times, that got accidentally left in the trunk when I sold an old car. I've carried different canoes, on different car tops, for distances of 5 to 1,200 miles without any problems. A quick, rough count of 6,000 miles.
I like this style because:
A. there are no straps running through the cabin.
B. The pool noodles scratch the roof when they slide and blow away when they break.
C. I've even used them on a SUV that had a roof rack to keep my nice wooden gunnels from getting dented or scratched.
D. I can run shuttle again.

by:

Works exactly as advertised and fits nicely in the bag that they sent. The bag itself isn't of highest quality, but the actual stuff I ordered (pads, tie straps, and ropes/hooks) is excellent!

by:

Excellent canoe carrier. Exactly as advertised. Works like a charm for my 16 ft canoe on top of my Prius!

by:

Have not had a chance to use it, but product seems well made and I am satisfied with the purchase.

by:

Worked like a charm carrying our canoe to Maine

Arrived in time to be used. Thank you!

  • Can Yakima LoadStop Brackets Be Used to Carry a Canoe
No, the LoadStop Brackets for Yakima Round Crossbars # Y05000 can not be used to carry a canoe, unfortunately. These have had issues with the load stops actually folding over while transporting canoes, causing the canoes to slip out. I'd instead recommend using the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG156 instead which is designed to carry canoes and are actually much cheaper.

  • Recommended Kayak And Canoe Roof Top Carrier For Toyota RAV-4 With Factory Crossbars
The Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier and Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs - Rear Loading - Clamp On # MPG113MD can absolutely be removed easily from the factory crossbars on your Toyota RAV4 when you are wanting to carry a canoe instead. When you are ready to carry your canoe I recommend using the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style # MPG156 which will protect your canoe from running on your crossbars, and the included tie downs will keep it secure on the roof of your RAV4. I included...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation For 2010 Ford Van To Carry Canoes.
I do not have an 80-inch crossbar that will work with your Ford Van but I do have a solution that will work for you. I recommend the Inno Roof Rack for your 2010 Ford. You would need the Feet, part # INSD and also the Inno Crossbars, part # IN436L. These square crossbars are 79 inches long and measure 7/8 x 1-1/4 inches. These crossbars have a 220-lb weight capacity. For carrying the canoes I recommend using the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style - 6" Long # MPG156....

  • How to Carry a Canoe on the Naked Roof of a 2013 Toyota Prius V
The Yakima foam blocks Y04056 could be a good option for a naked roof 2013 Toyota Prius V. But I recommend the Malone foam blocks # MPG156 since they are less expensive and because Yakima has stopped making the foam blocks. To attach it to a vehicle with a naked roof you would first make sure the bottoms of the pads and the roof are clean. Then you would set the canoe down next to the vehicle so that it over hangs the front and rear of the roof evenly. Next you will place the blocks on...

  • Recommended Ladder Rack For A 2011 Toyota Tacoma With Deck Rail System
My ladder rack recommendation for your 2011 Toyota Tacoma with deck rails is the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack for Toyota Tacoma - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Black, part # TH27000XTB-TA. It comes with elliptical shaped crossbars to cut down on wind noise and aid in fuel efficiency. These bars also have a t-channel, so any channel mounted accessories will work with this ladder rack. It can also carry up to 800 lbs. If you are in need of a canoe rack, we have the premium option, Lockrack...

For your 2016 Volvo XC60 with flush rails, the Rhino-Rack Aero crossbars would be an excellent. You can go with crossbars # RRVA126B-2 and then you also need Feet # RRSX025. For a canoe carrier, I think the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier # LR54FR would work well. The carrier arms can be adjusted from 28" to 47-1/2" wide to accommodate various sizes of canoes or kayaks. A more budget friendly carrier would be the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style - 6" Long...

  • Roof Rack and Carrier to Transport 110-lb Canoe on 2014 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab
If you have a slide-in truck bed camper on your 2013 Ford F-150 you'll need to use a combination of rooftop canoe carrier and front-mounted hitch and load support to hold your 110-lb 15-foot canoe. The good news is that you do not have to install a roof rack on the truck cab, just a handy, low-cost and lightweight foam block canoe carrier like # MPG156 from Malone. The foam carrier will support one end of the canoe while the front-mounted hitch and load support will support the other...

  • Solution for carrying canoe on the roof of a 2010 Ford Ranger single cab with 6 foot bed
You can always expect a reply from us here at Etrailer! I have a solution for you, however, there unfortunately is not a roof rack custom-made for the 2010 Ford Ranger standard cab. Instead, there are two routes that come to mind for you to haul your kayak on the roof. Option 1: Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Silver # TH27000XT-EX. This is a ladder rack with a cantilever that hangs over the roof, acting as a roof rack. With the three crossbars,...

  • Temporary Solution for Transporting Canoe on Toyota Prius with Naked Roof
As a temporary solution a foam block style carrier is a really good option to transport a single canoe on top of your friend's 2014 Toyota Prius that isn't already equipped with a roof rack. For this I specifically recommend the Malone Canoe Carrier # MPG156, which includes the foam blocks themselves that will attach to the gunwale on the canoe and sit right on the Prius' naked roof, along with all the necessary tie-down straps. Just be sure to clean your buddy's roof before mounting the...

  • Roof Rack and Canoe Carrier Recommendations for a 2008 Chevy TrailBlazer
If you are looking to set the canoe directly on top of your roof, then you will want a carrier with foam pads like the Malone Canoe Carrier, # MPG156. This carrier was specifically designed for vehicles with or without a roof rack. The foam pads will protect the canoe and your roof from scratches. The tie-downs are included. Based on the weight of your canoe and depending on how far you plan to travel, I strongly recommend looking into a roof rack if you don't already have one and a roof...

  • Can a Canoe be Carried on a Rhino-Rack Roof Basket on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner
You could carry a canoe on the Rhino-Rack basket # RMCB02 but I recommend adapting some foam blocks # MPG156 to protect the canoe and the basket. Also you will need to make sure that the combined weight of the canoe and the basket does not exceed the roof rack capacity or the vehicle roof weight carrying capacity, which ever is lower. Consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Toyota for the roof capacity on your 2012 Toyota 4Runner. Ideally, though, you would remove the basket and put the...

  • Using Erickson # EM07605 Load Extender to Carry Canoe on 2013 Chevy Silverado
TheErickson # EM07605 Big Bed Junior Load Extender for Truck Bed or Roof and the # DTA968 Turbo-Rack would be a good choice for you for transporting your canoe. Canoes typically weigh less than 100 lbs, and the roof portion of the truck would only be bearing 1/2 the weight of the canoe. Your roof should handle it with no problem whatsoever. I'd also recommend a canoe carrier kit, like part # MPG156. The kit contains foam blocks that will fit around the crossbars to protect the canoe from...

Don't let your bejeeburs be scared off, we have a solution for you. Rhino Rack offers their Vortex Aero roof rack system that's aerodynamic, yet reasonably priced. You can assemble a rack using the following parts: 54 inch Aero Vortex Crossbars # RRMA137B-2 Leg kit, part # RRRLKVA Clamp kit, part # DK174 For a canoe carrier, I really like the Malone foam block carrier, part # MPG156. The blocks will sit right on top of the crossbars, and the top of the blocks have grooves in them for...

  • Recommendation for TracRac Ladder Rack With Extension Carrying a Canoe Having Cab Contact
The T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension # TH37002XT-EX has a height above the bed rails of 27-1/4 inches. There is not a height adjustment available for the TracRac systems. Since you are having issues with your canoe hitting the cab, it sounds like you have too much weight to the front of the system or there is too much of a curve in the canoe, so you may want to start by adjusting the canoe's ride position so the weight is better supported. If you still have...

  • Canoe Carrier Recommendation for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Roof Rack

If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch on the vehicle, I recommend adding a T-Load, # RTL002, which will help with stability and weight carrying of the canoe. Some additional foam blocks, like # SR5528 may be needed.
