We purchased these foam blocks (2) to carry our large Perception Tribe double kayak on our Honda CRV. They are perfect! Because our kayak is so wide and has a rather flat bottom, we needed long blocks Without a large U-shape curve to them. The 24” length and the slight V-shape indent are perfect to provide the support and stability we need on our roof rack crossbars. The shorter blocks we had tried previously allowed the kayak to rock too much. The blocks have a nice large opening for the crossbar. The foam material is quite stiff, so it does take some effort to get the block onto the crossbar, but once there, it is very stable. We just received them and have only used them once. We are anxious to see how well they hold up over time, being put on and taken off frequently.

by:

As a single older woman, I found the foam pads difficult to put on my roof rack, but managed with the aid of a broom handle. Once on, and maneuvering my new kayak up on to them, I am very pleased with the end result! The pads provide the cushion and protection I had wanted for both the boat and my Subaru roof rack. Thank you.

by:

As usual, fast shipping, great tracking and superb product.

by:

This is not universal I struggled to get the blocks to fit my Thule Track rack. I would not recommend for a Thule rack.

Thank you for your review. The opening for the bar measures 1 inch in height by a little over 3 inches in length. I recommend to measure the roof rack bars before trying these.

Made these work on my Thule and then Velcro strapped them down and they work great.

by:

Just what I needed at a fair price. Shipping was fast.

by:

Very happy with these blocks. THey fit snug on my trailer bar. One of my fishing kayaks does not have the typical V shaped bow and this block is the only one that I have found that supported it. Great purchase!

by:

This product worked very well for me. The material is more dense than I expected which is good. It gives enough to support my kayak but not enough to allow the hull to be damaged in any way by the underlying support.

I still use it and it works fine.

by:

High quality foam kayak blocks. Will be storing our Hobie kayaks on them for the winter. Love that they are 24 inches and very reasonably priced.

by:

Great blocks for my Savage River Falcon. 24" width helps as the normal 16" are nearly too narrow. Shipping from etrailer was very fast.

by:

Product was delivered in a timely manner.
It was a pleasure doing business with etrailer.com ... :-)

by:

They took FOREVER to get to me in the summer of 2021 because of COVID supply chain problems in China (2+ months), but since I've got them, they've done exactly what I've needed them to do. They're awesome!

by:

Product looks great & arrived in very secure packaging.
The folks at etrailer were super responsive to my inquiry & product delivered sooner than expected.

by:

Excellent product! Built to last!

by:

Worked great for supporting my kayak.

by:

Great product, fast shipping!

by:

A little tight to put on my rack but snug and perfect to lay the cockpit of my upside down kayak on.

by:

Exactly what I needed

  • Recommendation on How to Carry Kayaks With Hard Tonneau Cover on Truck
Having a ladder rack and a tonneau cover can be challenging because of the clearance each one needs. Looking at the hard cover, and the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # EM07707 you referenced I don't think that they would be compatible without major modification. Usually the tonneau cover or ladder rack will mount inside or on top of the bed rails, but they can't occupy the same space. I do have another option that would not involve any modifications to your tonneau cover....

  • Will Two Kayaks of 58-Inch Total Width Fit on Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier DTA944-968-924
The load support items we offer, such as the Darby # DTA944-968-924, are not quite as wide as the 58-inch total width of your two side-by-side kayaks. But since most boats taper at the front and rear you may still be able to load your kayaks on this carrier. To make sure just place the kayaks side by side and measure the width between the two bow tips and the outside edges of the two stern sections. As long as these dimensions are within the width dimension for the load support bar you...
