I’ve used them a lot for my kayak and they work pretty well. Unfortunately they were not made for oval Honda factory crossbars, so sometimes they flip upside down while I’m sliding the kayak on and the padded side ends up on the underside of the crossbar. If Malone had a design that fit the wide oval bars, they would be perfect!

by:

These are great. I use them to hold my sit-on-top. I pretty much leave them on the roof all summer/fall and no signs of wear after a year. I tie the elastic ends together as an added protection after installing on the bars but I’ve never had the elastic clips slip - even unloaded at freeway speeds!

Great price, fast delivery

by:

Works perfectly fast delivery great price great quality thank you

by:

Perfect fit for my kayak trailer with 2"x2" crossbars.

Installation was a breeze.

Looks a lot better than pool noodles secured with zip ties!!

by:

I received the pads in good condition. Delivery was a day earlier than promised. The pads were easy to install. I removed the knotted end elastics and clip to get them around the crossbars and re-knotted. Overall, very easy and am looking forward to using them. I am not a surfer or SUP person and will use the pads to put my ladders on. Previously, had a split pool noodle on crossbars with cable ties but that was not cool looking. These are black and much better. Feel the outer material will provide UV protection for padding

by:

Pads should do the trick. Am waiting to receive the rack to confirm this.

by:

Great service and on time delivery

by:

Fit perfect and easy to install.

  • Will Three Kayaks Fit on the Malone MPG550-U MegaSport Trailer
The Malone # MPG550-U MegaSport Kayak trailer has crossbars that are 86 inches long. If you place your two larger kayaks in the saddles, and the saddles are adjusted to the kayaks sit right up against each other, you'll still have 22 inches of crossbar space left. You can even increase this by moving the outer saddles to the ends of the crossbars, then move the inner saddles outward until the kayaks sit how you want them. This will cantilever a portion of the kayaks past each edge, but...

  • Over the Truck Bed Kayak Carrier Compatible with BAKFlip MX4 for 2018 Ford F-150
I have a solution for you, but because the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK48329 is a folding hard tonneau cover, you don't really have options as much as a single solution. The only ladder rack that we have confirmed for use with the MX4 is the Adarac Pro Series # A4000955 that you were looking at, since the uprights on the Adarac are not tilted inwards like they are on many other ladder racks. The Adarac Pro Series has a 500-lbs capacity and will allow you to carry your kayaks on the crossbars of the...

  • Hauling Kayaks On A Polaris Ranger
If you don't have a roof on your Polaris Ranger I suggest using the Malone Rack Pads # MPG314 to wrap around your roll cage. Then get the load extender # Y01149 to hold up the rear of the kayak. IF you do have a roof I suggest getting something like these saddle style carrier # RR581 and drill a hole in your roof and put the T-Slot through the hole and tighten it down.

  • Dual Kayak Carrier For 2017 Ram 1500 With Tonneau Cover
I would recommend getting the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars # RB1500, the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs for Heavy-Duty Crossbars # RRRLKHD and the Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs # DK043. I've included a video to help you install if you wanted to go that route. Then the most cost effective carrier would be four of the Malone Rack Pads # MPG314, two per crossbar. The foam pads will be less rough on your kayaks whenever you're going down gravel roads....

  • Malone Megawing Mounting Outside The Roof Rack Feet
The MegaWing # MPG107MD is designed to be mounted on the inside of the feet. If you're wanting to utilize the outside rails from the feet you should use a kayak pad like these pads # MPG314. They wrap around the bars so you can have it going over the foot so it's on both sides of the foot. This will make it easier to load your kayaks since it's closer to the edge.

  • Will Load Extender Match the Truckbed Height of 2016 Toyota Tacoma With Factory Hitch?
The lowest setting of the Erikson Big Bed Load Extender # EM07600 is 18" in height while the lowest setting of the Yakima LongArm Truck Bed Load Extender # Y01149 is measured at 17" high. That will still bring you at an inch higher than your truck bed. If you're carrying a kayak, you can put down some foam blocks like Malone RackPads # MPG314 to lift the kayak up on your truck bed and you can reuse the blocks when you store your kayak in your garage or on the ground. The blocks are 3-1/2"...

  • How to Transport 18 Foot Hobie Tandem Island Pedal Kayak
When fully rigged, an 18 foot Hobie Tandem Island will weigh up to 240 lbs depending on the specific model, according to my research. Since you'll be towing a travel trailer already, and the vehicle roof wouldn't have the strength to carry that type of weight, a trailer or a roof mounted rack wouldn't be a good solution. Your best bet would be to use a ladder rack like # 3371501680 from Buyer's Products. The rack has an 800 lb capacity, so it'll handle the boat with no problem. The rack...

  • Best Way to Haul my Kayak with my 2014 Honda Odyssey with a Naked Roof
I have a solution but with your van as the doors slide they would interfere with the straps running through the track area the doors slide in. Instead it will require a roof rack system to attach the Malone Rack Pads for Crossbars part # MPG314 to allow the kayak to rest on. This rack consist of the parts: # RRVA126B-2, # RRQMVA10, # RRRTV168, and # RRRLT600 Not only will this allow you to attach pads but a ton of different roof top accessories for different hobbies. I also recommend thinking...

  • Option For Carrying A Hobie Outback Kayak On A 2" Square Tube Lumber Rack
It is possible to secure your Hobie outback kayak to your 2" square tube lumber rack. The Yakima HandRoll # Y04082 will not work for this with this kind of rack though. This will be the case for pretty much any other Yakima or other brand rack since they are pretty much all made to fit the more standard roof rack crossbar shapes, none of which are a 2" square. What I suggest doing is using a simple crossbar pad like the Malone Rack Pad # MPG314. This will fit a 2" square tube and they...

  • Carrying a 9.9 Foot Kayak on a 2007 Nissan Frontier King Cab
The Rhino Rack 2500 Roof Rack, parts # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK374, will fit a 2007 Nissan Frontier King Cab. As far as carrying the kayak though, that's only part of the solution. You will need to support and protect the kayak as you move it. I recommend the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier, part # S510 which will mount to the new crossbars to provide a safe, balanced ride to your kayak. This will help it stay in position and not shift as you drive to and from the water. A...

  • Carrying Kayaks With Thule Stacker on 2014 Toyota 4Runner
Yes, the Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier # TH830 you referenced will fit your 2014 Toyota 4Runner SR5; you just need to make sure that there is at least 24" between the crossbars, because that's the minimum spread for the Stacker. It's compatible with several Thule cross bars and most factory roof racks. For padding for the kayaks I recommend the Malone Rack Pads for Crossbars # MPG314. They wrap around the cross bars and protect your kayaks, or whatever else you have...

  • How To Obtain Additional Foam Blocks for the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier
The Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier part # DTA944-968-924 comes with one foam block. However, if you need more you can use the Malone Foam Kayak Block part # MPG172. If you need a pad for the crossbar then you can use the Malone Rack Padss part # MPG314.

  • Roof Rack For 2003 Ford F-250/F-350 Carrying Kayaks While Hauling 5th Wheel.
If you're wanting a roof rack on your 2003 Ford F-250/350 there will be some drilling required on any roof rack system. The Rhino Rack # Y01-120B comes with tracks which will install on your roof. Again, drilling required. Then you can use a kayak carrier like # S510. This comes with tie downs and can carry one kayak. Get two if you need to carry more than one kayak. If you don't want to drill into your roof, you can just get the SeaSucker roof rack system # 298-SX6000B. This is SUPER...

  • Can I Place Bunks MPG561 On The Malone 2nd Tier Load Bar System MPG474?
Hello again and thank you for your questions. To answer your first question, yes, it is possible to place the bunk kit # MPG561 on the 2nd Tier Load Bar System # MPG474. That said, the bunk kit weighs about 23 lbs, so that combined with the 90 lb kayak will put you over the 100 lb weight capacity for the 2nd tier system. My recommendation would be to use a simple crossbar pad like the Malone Rack Pads # MPG314, along with the tie downs of your choice (such as the etrailer Tie Down Kit...

  • What Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack Do You Recommend for Transporting 2 Kayaks and a Paddle Board?
I have a great solution for you. As far as the length of the Malone AirFlow2 roof rack, both the 50-inch version # MPG215 and the 58-inch version # MPG216 are recommended fits for you vehicle. With that being said, I recommend the 58-inch # MPG216 because you will ultimately have more room to mount accessories on your 2014 GMC Acadia. Unfortunately, if you plan on transporting 2 kayaks and a paddle board at the same time, we do not currently have any accessories that will allow you to...

  • Which Style Kayak Carrier Is Best For My 21 Foot Tandem Kayak On My 2021 Toyota Rav 4?
First, you'll need a roof rack for your 2021 Toyota Rav 4. If you already have factory crossbars then you should just get the Malone Pads # MPG314 and our strap kit # e36ZR. I like the pads for larger kayaks since you won't have to worry about angling it up. This will just allow you to put your kayak upside down on the rack which is easier and it won't fill up with water if you run into rain on the way to or from kayaking. If you don't have a roof rack and have raised side rails, get...

  • Is There an Adapter for the Rhino Rack Nautic to Be Used on a Back Rack or What Option is There
I do have an alternate option for you, but there is not an approved adapter/screws that allow you to use Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof SUP or Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # RR570 with crossbars larger than 3-7/8" wide x 1-3/8" tall. You can use the Malone Rack Pads for Crossbars # MPG314, which will wrap around your square bars. You would then need a tie-down kit like the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR to secure your kayak to the rack and carrier.

  • Ladder Rack Options For Hauling Kayaks On A 2020 GMC Sierra
If you're wanting to get the Adarac Aluminum M-Series ladder rack, this one # AD56FR is the custom fit item for your 2020 GMC Sierra. One thing to keep in mind is that since it does not extend over the cab of your truck, you will most likely have to use an extender like this # TH997 because there isn't much room between the front bar and the cab of your truck. To avoid that, you can get a ladder rack that sits up higher like this Adarac # A4003493 which is taller, allowing you to hang...

  • Can I Use A Roof Rack Without Accessories Like A Roof Basket?
I would recommend getting these crossbars # JA7977 as they are super low profile and have a really good oem look. This can be used with a cargo basket # RMCB02 and any other type of accessory like this pad # MPG314. You don't have to have a basket on top of your roof with roof rack systems if you don't want to.

  • Can I Stack Two Roof Racks On Top Of Each Other To Carry Solar Panels And A Kayak?
If you were to get any ladder rack like the Thule TracRac # TH29056XT you will not be able to stack roof racks on top of each other, but this rack will fit your 2001 GMC Savana. I see what you're wanting to accomplish but this is not something that manufactures allow. One thing you could do is get something like the Goal Zero Yeti # GZ67FR portable solar system. The power station should fit in your kayak so you can have a charge when you're on the water. It's 7-15/16" long x 5-1/8" wide...
