If you are looking to set the canoe directly on top of your roof, then you will want a carrier with foam pads like the Malone Canoe Carrier, # MPG156. This carrier was specifically designed for vehicles with or without a roof rack. The foam pads will protect the canoe and your roof from scratches. The tie-downs are included.

Based on the weight of your canoe and depending on how far you plan to travel, I strongly recommend looking into a roof rack if you don't already have one and a roof mounted carrier.

If you don't have a roof rack, then you can easily add one. If your 2008 Chevroelt Trailblazer has the factory raised roof side rails, then I recommend using the Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack which consists of the following parts:

Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA118B-2
Quick Mount Legs # RRRLT600
Spacer Blocks # RRQMVA05

If you have the flush mounted roof tracks, then I recommend the Inno Square Bar roof rack which consists of the following parts:

Square Crossbars # INB117
Roof Rack Feet # INTR
Custom Fit Kit # INTR107

For a carrier, you can use the Swagman Prospector that I mentioned above, or a better option is the Malone Big Foot Pro Canoe Carrier, # MPG112MD. This carrier is much sturdier than the foam block carrier which is more ideal for longer drives. It also includes straps and bow and stern tie-downs.
