Can Reese Hitch Extension RP45292 Provide Better Towing Clearance for Ram 3500 with In-Bed Camper

Hello. I have an in bed truck camper that overhangs. I am looking to pull a 380 pound motorcycle trailer. I see you sell the reese 48inch extender. Can I use that with my factory hitch on my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. I dont want to put a new hitch on. Thank you.

Yes, you can use Reese Hitch Box Extension and Reducer # RP45292 in your 2012 Ram's 2-1/2-inch hitch to provide you with the additional clearance you need to tow your motorcycle trailer. This item is intended for just such an application in a truck with a slide-in camper.
Note that the extension fits into a 2-1/2-inch hitch receiver and converts that down to a 2-inch that accepts a ball mount. The extension is designed to be cut down to the length you need; it's towing capacity varies depending on the chosen length. The linked chart shows you the capacities at specific lengths (with and without weight distribution) and the photo provides dimensions.
The Reese includes a mounting bracket for a 7-way socket extension like # TLW6036.
