How To Use a 3 Foot Long Hitch Extender On a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 While Towing

Question:

Looking to extend my hitch about 3 ft so I can haul a travel trailer with my tailgate down. I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. The travel trailer is 8,000 pounds and a hitch weight of 970 pounds. Do you have a product that would work for this?

I do have an option for you but in order to carry that much weight on a hitch extender you will have to use a dual receiver tube setup. The most cost effective option we have for this is the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1102 as this will then allow you to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1536 which is the only extender available that will allow you to carry this much weight. The TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension part # TLW6036 will also be needed.

Please note you will also need a weight distribution system for the trailer in order to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension within capacity so please let me know if you do not already have a system.
