Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I’ve ordered from Etrailer several times and as alway I’m extremely happy with their service and prompt shipping. The tires I ordered are excellent looking and were individually boxed. Thanks for great products and the top of the chain customer service!

by:

I love these tires. Provider rides have a quality tire with a higher weight and speed raring than most all other brand tires. My old canper tires squatted far to much at max pressure and they looked like they would roll off the rim when turning. These Provider tires barely squat with 5 psi under max. The camper feels more stable and it rolls with less resistance.

by:

The tires are still holding air!!! No with the joking set aside, the tires have been great. Have not used the trailer in the winter yet. I would recommend theses tires. When the tractor is on the trailer. It pulls great. Rides very nice. Sometimes I don't feel the trailer back there. The trailer tires at the local store don't even compare to these. Even for the load range. Hands down I would buy them again if available and when tires are needed.

by:

Nice tires. I have 4 on my food truck and the stability is awes9me.

by:

still going strong and the tires are wearing nicely ! thanks

by:

I have these on a 5th wheel camper and on a 10 ton trailer. I love them. I put about 8,000 miles on the 5th wheel and see no sign of wear. The 10 ton trailer has been at max weight alot and have had no issues. I will be taking off my Goodyear's on my boat soon and replacing them with the providers too.

by:

Shipping was fast to my front door. I had them mounted and I put them on my 5th wheel today and all looks fine. I have not towed it yet but don't expect any problems. If I encounter any problems, I will update this review.

by:

Lightning fast delivery AAAAA+++++

by:

Selected this product for its tread design and speed rating. Seems to be slightly better than the Westlake product which lasted only 3 years and less than 5000 miles when I encountered blow outs!

by:

Liked the first set that came with trailer. Not sure on these replacments since I have not installed yet.

by:

I have had these on my 31' TT for a year and they are excellent. Originally the trailer had load range D tires on it but the same size. So I ordered the Load Range E tires and they DO make a difference in towing. The Trailer has been on some trips and I can tell a difference in how she pulls behind my Truck. I have about 2000 miles on them in a year and I could not be happier with these tires. One last major point, when they arrived, the first thing I looked at was the date on the tires. All (4) were from the same batch (week/year), and all were within 6 months of being made when I bought them. So NO ISSUES with getting old tires. Would buy them again if I need to.

by:

Alex did a great job with assisting me with placing my order

by:

Quick and easy

by:

Great tires. I previously had load D tires on my trailer and was blowing tires every 1k miles or so. I have now replaced 3 or 4 tires with these as the others have blown and have put about 12k miles on them going coast to coast a few times with my over weight 30ft toy hauler trailer and have not has issue one with them. I am very pleased.

I would say to go ahead and purchase the rim and tire together on this site since it comes already to-go. I have purchased two of these without the rim and had them mounted/balanced and a new high pressure valve stem installed and it cost me about the same as you can get the complete package on this site. Plus I had to invest a whole lot more of my time.

by:

Excellent as usual!

by: 12/08/2022

Already knew the tires were great this will be my third set, but this is the first time buying from this website and customer service and pricking was great! Online or on the phone both were awesome and will by from this site again! Not sure if this is the places for reviews outside of the product, but I’m sure someone will like it

by:

18 tires on four 5th wheel trailers through 11 states over 30 days and 6000 miles in July temperatures without a single tire related problem. You might say we are sold on the quality of these tires.

by:

Etrailer had a nice selection of trailer tires to choose from. They even have wheels if you need those too or want to upgrade. I chose these provider tires mainly for two reasons: the speed rating of 81 vs 65 on my 9 year old tires I replaced and for the tread design being more like a nice radial car or truck tire. Just pulled the travel trailer about 90 miles one way with these new tires and it was a huge relief knowing I have great new tires and we had 0 issues! The local tire chain store did the mounting and balancing for me. At the end of day it did cost me about $115 more than if I would have just let them do the complete job and buying their tires but I didn’t care for the tread on those so I went this route to get what I wanted and liked. Shipping was a day early so no issues there however etrailer is local for me!
I actually know a couple friends that have used etrailer and have not had any issues and now I can say the same, good job etrailer! Look closely at old tire photo, if your tires have cracks and splits even with good tread they need to go! Be safe!

by:

Not my first purchase from etrailer.

I
ordered tires, rims and some additional trailer parts for our travel trailer. Helen was very congenial, efficient and knowledgeable, and I placed the order.

Based on the stated delivery dates, we made plans to take our trailer and do some camping, allowing an extra day for delivery just in case there was a problem. Unfortunately our order was somehow split into two deliveries, with tires not arriving until after the day we planned to leave, causing me to purchase an additional tire locally the day of departure so we could leave as planned and not forfeit a day's camping fees. Otherwise, everything that was ordered came as expected. Great customer service during the ordering process, just not sure why everything ordered did not ship on the same schedule as it assumedly came from the same warehouse.

Not the first time I have had delivery problems with etrailer. They shipped mismatched tires in one prior order. On another, they shipped a product with a known defective part. They correct the errors very quickly, so I made this additional purchase. The weak link, based my experiences, seems to be in order fulfillment.

by:

I bought 4 Good Year Endurance tires and using your tire for my spare.
I will say your tire balanced with 1/4 oz of weight and looked like a very good tire.
Compared the weight of your tire with the GY tires your tire was a little lighter for what ever that might mean.
The GY tire is a new design and made in the USA.

by:

I bought a spare tire and rim for my trailer. Only place I found that had matching wheel. Never had to use it yet.

by:

Work very well for my 10k utility trail er.

by:

Great experience thank you

by:

received the tires in a timely manner well packaged in a cardboard box. Have them mounted on the passenger side of my 10000 lbs 24' enclosed haulmark trailer.
Not happy that the date code is 1616 and delivery date is 0817. Hopefully these will last. These replaced tires with a 2012 date.

by:

I have bought three sets of tires from e-trailer. Always good service. Think I bought
some tie down track also a while back. No complaints. Always good service. Did I mention that I have always had good service?

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for Size 225/75-15
For your tire size of 225/75-15 I would recommend the part # TR225LRE. This tire has a capacity of 2,830-lb max load at 80 psi and a higher speed rating of 81 mph compared to most trailer tires that are only rated for 65 mph. Our customers who have tried the Taskmaster tires here really like them so we recommend them highly.

Taskmaster trailer wheel # 560545WM1 is rated for 2,830 pounds. This matches the capacity of a 225/75-15 trailer tire, load range E, such as # TR225LRE, which is rated for 2,830 pounds at 80 psi. I have included links to videos on both of these parts for you.

  • Recommended Trailer Tires for 15 Inch Wheels on Two Horse Trailer
When replacing tires you will want to use a similar size tire to what you had on the trailer previously. You also want to account for the weight of the load the trailer will need to handle at its max capacity. The weight of the two horses will absolutely matter as well as the weight of the trailer itself. I recommend going with a load range e tire for your two horse trailer. • Can Taskmaster Provider Tires Be Ran at Pressures Lower Than What's Listed on Tire Sidewall?
Taskmaster load tests their tires at the full inflation pressure listed on the tire's sidewall, not at various lower pressures. Reducing the pressure in the tires would give you an unknown load capacity. Running tires in a situation where you have zero idea of their actual load capacity is a dangerous proposition that we don't recommend. Obviously, you're welcome to do as you wish, but it isn't something we would do.

This is the only combination wheel and tire we currently have available and it has a 27.3125 inch outer diameter and is 8 inches wide. I don't recommend mixing tire, types and sizes, so you would need to replace all and spare if you choose to go this route. If you want to make your own combination,...

I've linked the three options we have for 10 ply 225/75-15 size tires for you. Of the selection I recommend the Taskmaster Provider, part # TR225LRE. I'm assuming you have a tandem axle trailer and therefore 4 wheels. The highest rated tires we carry for 15 inch rims is load range E with a capacity of 2,830 pounds. Multiplied by 4 that's 11,320 pounds which is a good amount for your 12,000 pound trailer. Keep in mind not all of the trailer's weight is on the axles and wheels. • Can Trailer Tire Sizes be Mixed To Avoid Purchasing 4 New Tires Together
I completely get where you're coming from but the only time we ever say mix-matching tire sizes or even ply ratings is acceptable is in an emergency situation where you need to hobble to the nearest trailer shop for a repair. Aside from that it's a hard "no" as using different tires can cause uneven wear patterns which could eventually be dangerous so I recommend installing the same size tire at the same time on all axles involved. Though I do have a 10 ply tire option for you to check out, it will be an ST tire, not LT. We currently do not carry any LT tires as they are designed predominantly for automotive use. They can be used on a trailer/5th wheel as they will have a heavier sidewall than a standard car tire, but ST, or Special Trailer, tires are designed specifically for use on a trailer. They will have a more robust sidewall than an LT tire, even when they have the same ply rating. This is so they can handle...

  • Can 225/75-15 Trailer Tire Replace a 205/75R15
Going to the next larger tire size of ST225/75R15 would certainly be possible unless your fender and frame clearances are super tight on your trailer currently. You would end up with roughly 3/4 of an inch less of fender clearance and the tire will be 20 mm wider. My favorite tire in that size is the part # TR225LRE which has a 2,830-lb max load at 80 psi and has an 81 mph speed rating which is much higher than most trailer tires.
