Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - White Powder Coat - AM20532

I purchased 5 of these for my RV. They came in over the course of 3 days and I took them in batches to have tires mounted on them. Turns out 2 of 5 wheels were misshapen and the technician refused to put tires on them.

etrailer was responsive and professional in replacing the product and getting it back to me quickly. However, that does nothing to make up for the extra trips to the tire guy and the 160-mile round trip to where my RV resides. A 40% failure rate is pretty high. It might be better to get this type of product off the shelf locally.

by:

I have had these wheels on for a year now along with new 15" 14 ply G rated tires attempting to upgrade my weight capacity on my travel trailer to avoid any more blow outs.

So far so good... no issues and everything appears to be a significant upgrade. I would balance the tires though, they needed a few more weights than typical, not surprising really as the tires are extremely heavy duty.

I have not yet installed the rim yet so I cannot speak to the quality. It looks good . My only complaint is the packaging. This has been a consistent thing with the products purchased from here. The products are great but they are not packaged properly for shipping. The rim was moving around in the box and there was only one piece of packing material in the box. I used to working in packaging and we had to ensure the product would not move in shipping. That is my only complaint. The products I have purchased were great.

It is working out great!

by:

Only giving this a poor rating because of how it was packaged. Zero packing material and two rims per box. All 4 rims were chipped up or chaffed through to bare metal. Had the rims been packed properly, I would have given these 5 stars. Waiting on a return authorization now as pictures were sent in.

by:

Pin stripe on one wheel is particularly missing. All four wheels are missing paint on the back of the wheels

Typically the back side of the rim has more of an e-coat; this helps the lugs attach the the hub better. The missing pin strip though is not normal and I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Received the trailer tires in record time. Excellent service. Worked with a gal TomyLyn and she was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable!! Looked other places in my hometown but once I saw etrailers I decided to give them a look. Best customer service experience ever. Can't get over how beautiful the whole transaction went!! Will recommend them to everyone. Would give them ten stars!!

by:

Product showed up on time , I had a spare valve stem , slapped the tire on the wheel in the driveway and haven't turned back , mounting a new tire on a new wheel is a five minute job , put a couple thousand miles on it with zero problems

by:

Very good product wheels were as described much heavier than my original trailer wheels.

VERY GOOD ! GREAT WHEEL!!

by:

This is exactly what we needed . Easy to order, great price, was received in a matter of days. So appreciate the quick service and fast shipping keeping us informed through out the entire process. This was ordered as a back up to the spare after a recent blow out for a defective tire Now we feel more comfortable traveling with 2 spares. Thank you we will continue to shop at Etrailer for all of our future needs.

A year later and still happy with our purchase . Have had to use this back up tire when traveling and have recommended to others when they were in the market.

Does the job

by:

First set of rims had chips on the outside edge. Down to bare metal. Returned those and received a second set o 4 rims. Not as many nicks this time. I touched them up, so they weren’t bare metal. I took them to the tire dealer to have new tires mounted on them. I got a call from the tire dealer, and was told that they were bent and couldn’t balance the wheel. All four of them! I called the rep that I ordered them through, two days in a row. No return call. I called customer service and they handled it with apologies. Now I have to find new rims, have them mounted with the new tires. $[XX] more that I have to pay! I never post reviews, but had to with this purchase. WTH!

by:

Quick delivery. I called and requested help before buying four of the these. Your representatives were very helpful and knowledgeable. These rims are perfect for our fifth wheel.

by:

Finding a reputable source for trailer needs was difficult until I started using etrailer. Great resource for knowledgeable advice as well as for parts and equipment from well respected trailer component manufacturers such as Dexstar. I've used etrailer for several years for multiple purchases and they have consistently delivered quality products shipped very quickly. No need to hunt for various suppliers based on my multiple trailer component needs (utility, boat and travel trailers), this is one stop shopping with excellent customer support.

product continues fine

by:

Easy ordering, super fast free delivery. Perfect for what we needed! Will order from this website again!

by:

The wheels were delivered promptly. Great service! The only gripe I have is that the wheels were skinned up a bit, which will lead to rusting. I touched up the skinned places before I had the tires mounted, so maybe they will last a bit longer before rust sets in. Maybe that is the new normal for wheel buying, but I wish they could have handled them a little more carefully.

Wheels are holding up well. No problems at all. Keep the scratches and chips touched up and they should last for many years.

by:

Ive used etrailer several times now and customer service is great and website is easy to navigate and orders come quickly

by:

I purchased these for a 72 FJ 40 as they are the same size and offset. They work great.

by:

Great product. Tires already mounted and ready to roll!

by:

bought this 6 lug rim as a spare for my travel trailer on our rode trip to alaska. it was a blessing to have the extra wheel 14,386 miles round trip

by:

I ordered this rim for a 2nd spare tire for my 5th wheel. After having 2 tires separate on the same trip, I decided it was time to have 2 spares available. This rim is rated for 2830# which is perfect for my needs. Etrailer delivered on time and wheel is in perfect condition.

by:

By buying these rims I believe I saved a little money overall and also have new rims. I ordered new tires and had them mounted on the new rims. I then changed the wheels myself and sold the old tires and rims for $80. I now have new rims and tires.

by:

It's hard to say much about a steel wheel to be used with a spare tire on a boat trailer, but I will share that I'm pleased to have somehow found etrailer.com. The site is easy to shop. I'm pleased with the prompt shipping and follow-up by e-mail. I will recommend etrailer to others.

This weekend I had a tire mounted on the new wheel and bolted to a bracket on the boat trailer. Let's hope I never need to use it.

by:

My rims on my 30ft 5th wheel were all rusted and paint peeling. Bought 4 rims and replaced them while I was replacing the brakes and hubs I bought from etrailer.com as well. I went with powder coated hoping they will hold up to all the traveling we going to do. they really look great on the trailer.

by:

happy with the products and they arrived early. installed both rim and firestone ride-right air helper springs. they were easy to install .
now i need to road test them.

thanks

jim

  • Will Dexstar 15 x 6 Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20532 Fit Tire Size ST225/75R15
The trailer tire size you have, ST225/75R15, will fit 15-inch rims with widths of 6-inches, 6-1/2-inches and 7-inches. The Dexstar 15 x 6 Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20532 that you referenced will fit this tire size. This white steel wheel has a 6 on 5-1/2-inch bolt pattern and a maximum load capacity of 2830-lbs at an inflation of 80-psi. For reference I have linked an article on tire sizing.

  • Will ST205/75R15 Size Tire Fit on Taskmaster 15 x 6 Steel Modular Wheel
The 6" width of the Dexstar Steel Modular Trailer Wheel #AM20532 is actually very standard for a 15" wheel so it will work with your ST205/75R15 size tire. You can actually confirm this by measuring your current 15" wheels from bead seat to bead seat as they are likely 6" as well. I have attached a photo showing where the bead seats are so you will just need to modify how to take this measurement since your tires are mounted on your wheels. A 225/75-15 tire can be safely mounted on a 5, 6, 6-1/2 or a 7 inch wide wheel, so the Dexstar # AM20532 15 x 6 inch wheel would work perfectly for you, as long as your existing wheels have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. If you're not sure of your bolt pattern, I'll link to a help article that explains how to find the bolt pattern of your existing wheels. I'll also link to a product description video for the Dexstar # AM20532 wheel you'd looked at.

In order to find a compatible hub/drum for the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel part # AM20532 we will need to obtain some information on your spindle. • What Does ST Stand for on an ST225/75-15 Trailer Tire on a 5th Wheel Trailer
The ST stands for special trailer. ST tires need to be used on trailers because they are built with a thicker sidewall when compared to passenger vehicle tires. This is because trailer tires are designed to handle more vertical load and not meant for the lateral stress associated with a vehicle. Any given tire will actually fit a range of wheel widths. An ST225/75-15 will fit 15" x 6", 15" x 6-1/2", and 15" x 7" rims. It is recommended to use the tires specified by the trailer manufacturer....

I can't recommend that you tow your trailer with truck tires on it. The best recommendation I can give would be to replace your tires with the same size you currently have. Tire failure is usually caused by a few things. It can be from overloading the trailer, improper tire inflation, and/or exceeding the speed rating for the tire. You should verify that the tire capacity you have for you trailer is adequate for how much your trailer weighs. The pressure ran in the tires makes a big...

This wheel has a Pilot diameter of 4.27 inches, so as long as that is not too small for your hub center it will work fine. In most cases wheels are lug-centric. • Can Radial Tires be Used on a Travel Trailer
Yes, you can use radial tires on a trailer as long as they are trailer tires. Trailer tires will have ST in front of the size. Radial indicates which way the belts run in the tire. It is just a different kind of tire construction. Trailer tires, whether they are radial or bias ply, are built with a thicker sidewall than vehicle tires. This is because they handle more vertical load so you would not use vehicle tires on a trailer or vice versa. Trailer tires should also be inflated to the...
