This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Goodyear Endurance ST 205 75 R 15 radial trailer tire in a load range D mounted on this 15 inch silver modular steel wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assembly's ideal for RVs, campers and trailers. We'll start with the wheel. It is a nice sturdy steel wheel. Has a modular design to it.
And when we say modular design, that's the one that has those large round holes all the way around the wheel. They do use a silver powder coat finish over an e-coat primer on the wheel to resist rust and corrosion. Also, where your lug nuts go, they use beveled stud holes which will help keep the wheels securely in place on your trailer hub. Eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of the lug nuts. The tire that's mounted on this wheel is a Goodyear Endurance radial tire.
It is constructed with double steel belts triple polyester supplies for nice long life. They do also use a nylon tread firming belt overlay, helps prevent tread separation. And on the inside of the tire they use an inner liner with a halo butyl rubber construction to reduce any air loss. And this is a radial tire, so it does great for highway use. Also, the Goodyear Endurance is a tire that is made in the USA.
Does use an automotive grade tread which will help channel water away from the tire to improve traction during wet, snowy or icy conditions. They do use a dura-wall technology which reinforces the side wall with a rubber compound that prevents cuts and punctures. Does use this raised scuff guard also to provide additional protection against curb damage. On the very shoulder, both shoulders, they do use a decoupling groove, which minimizes irregular tread wear and keeps the tire cool while you're towing. This tire is an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire.
Has the sturdy side wall so that it can handle heavy loads and it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. This assembly will meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. The tire itself meets federal motor vehicle safety standard specs and the wheel meets the SAEJ 1204 standards. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with the center cap. We do sell center cap separately if you need one. You do want to get a center cap that will have a diameter of 3.19 inches. And that's because this pilot hole right here is a diameter of 3.19 inches. And when you install your center cap, it's going to go through this hole to be installed on the wheel. The wheel itself, the diameter on it is 15 inches. The width on just the wheel is five inches wide. A bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five. What you do is pick any hole, and then you're going to measure across to either one of these holes, right across from it. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one it'll measure four and a half inches which means it's a five lug four and a half inch bolt pattern. The wheel lug size used on this is a half inch by 20 and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,200 pounds. The tire size, which will be stamped on the side wall, ST for special trailer 205 75 R 15. The R means it is a radial tire. Section width on this is eight inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.1. This tire is a load range D which means it's an eight ply rated tire so it has a maximum load capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi. And the last thing I do want to mention is the tire, the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings stamped on them now, and they designate it by a letter designation. And where you'll find that, it's usually by the tire size. This is the tire size we read off, but if you go down here right by the rim you'll see the tire size again, and then after it, it'll be two numbers for the load index and then it'll have the letter N stamped in there. Speed rating N is 87 miles per hour. But that should do it for the review on this Goodyear Endurance ST 205 75 R 15 radio trailer tire, a load range D on the 15 inch silver modular steel wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.

Complimentary roadside assistance included.Everything with the wheels looked good. However, I did have to take them and have them balanced. I would have liked it if balancing was offered as an option when purchasing the wheels.
I realize that many people do not balance their trailer tires. But I like my trailers to ride smooth at highway speeds. Single axle trailers are affected more than multiple axle trailers by out of balance wheels.

Nice looking tired, exactly what I ordered. I tried to ordering this first from a website starting with a capital W. The picture of the tire was the tire mounted on the wheel. These are the same tires I have on my TT. The stock spare was a china bomb. I feel much better knowing If I am a long distance from home, I can depend on my spare instead of getting to the next exit. Tire Blowouts can cause a lot of damage just not worth the risk to me.
