Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Lionshead Aluminum Wheels with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Wheels and tires arrived in great shape, they seem like well constructed units, but I suppose time will tell, right now they are 5 star...

by:

Bought 3 of these tires for our boat trailer. Trailer is kept in the garage. Less than a year later while coming back from the lake the tire came apart on the road. We were lucky no one was seriously hurt or any major damage to our boat. Totally destroyed the fender on the trailer. When I contacted the company about the warranty at first I was told they would ship me a new one and they would cover shipping the bad one back. I got a phone call later that evening telling me I would have to pay for shipping it back and they might consider replacing it. Learned our lesson, won’t buy from this company again.

From the looks of the tire, the tread delaminated from the tire, which happens when the tire is low on air pressure combined with highway driving heating the temperature on the inside of the tire. You will want to make sure the tire has a PSI of 80 before heading out.

by:

Excellent wheels, they serve as a good replacements for 70’s model Airstreams wheels.

My only complaint is that I received 3/4 of my order, and I’m responding to the email that states my order was delivered. short a wheel. Please help

by:

Tire and Wheel look good on the new hub conversion. Went from a old 4 bolt Dayton hub to a new 6 bolt hub. Conversion was super easy! Takes a lot of stress off me going down the road!

by:

Not impressed. Always inflated and never overloaded but started separating while it was on the spare holder.

I would have you reach out to the manufacturer about this. The tire has a five year warranty so time wise, you are still within that timeline. I have already sent you an email with their contact information.

by:

Went for a trailer rim and purchased a mounted tire too. Great communication and service. Tire was only four months old, very pleased.

Thank you Etrailer.com

by:

Exactly the tire/wheel I needed for my trailer, delivered on time, without damage.

by:

Fast shipping and good price. Only reasons for 3 stars is that the wheel arrived with some scratches and chips in in the paint, could be from the manufacturer or the shipping company. The second reason for 3 stars is I bought it for a spare on my 5th wheel so I can’t just the durability and performance, hopefully I won’t have to.

Update : After the first review indicating the scratches on the wheel, e trailer reached out immediately apologizing and trying to resolve the situation. They offered a discount on another purchase. I never utilized it due to lack of needing to buy something off the site shame on me. I must say the customer service is fantastic. As for the westlake review, I did use it on my trip from MA to FL. I picked up a bolt and needed to put the spare on in VA. The westlake served its purpose from VA to FL without issue. I swapped the westlake off after I repaired the stock tire. Great product from an 800 mile spare in a jam experience.

by:

Tires and rims are great. Price is right on and delivery on target.

Yea..... It's just a dump trailer... but there is no greater relief than to have a great tire that will not be smoking on the highway when it goes flat from Roofing nails!

by:

This tire wheel combo was purchased for a spare on my new car hauler. My dealership quoted me a price $45 higher than ET . LOOK AT THE LOAD RATING on your unit! The Famous online auction site can save you money BUT CAN NOT match the " E " load rating. Thank You E Trailer.

by:

Super fast and free shipping! Perfect match for my trailer.

by:

I am very pleased with Etrailer. Item was delivered super fast. This is the second time we ordered something from them. And will continue to

by:

Great product, e trailers is my go to for hard to get items. Great service.

by:

I use it as a spare for my boat trailer and it has come in very handy

by:

It was bought for a spare. Haven't had to use it and it is still holding air, so 5 star rating. etrailer has always been a really good company to deal with. have bought several different trailer tires through them and have always been satisfied.

by:

I recently purchased a bucket lift and had to pick it up on the other side of the state. I was looking for a spare tire as a precautionary measure. Several merchants claimed to have the tire and rim and when I tried to purchase them, found that they didn't have 6 hole rims. If I would have placed the order from e-trailer when I knew that I was purchasing the lift, I would have had a great spare tire and rim instead of sweating a 200+ mile ride with no spare.

by:

A prime example of pathetic offshore junk. I always balance my trailer tires, which reduces suspension component wear, but the tire tech showed me how out-of-round both the tires and the wheel / rims were. I was short on time and had to make a trip so couldn't address the issue then. The trailer bounced annoyingly. During the trip, one of the wheels started leaking air through the STEEL and had to be replaced!!! It drives me crazy paying hard earned money for junk that doesn't last.

This comes with a 5 year warranty on the tire and a 1 year warranty on the wheel, so any manufacturing defects will be covered under that. Our customer service team can talk to you about this. Actually, the vast majority of trailer tires are made overseas.

by:

Incredibly fast service !

by:

Product was exactly what was shown. It matched what i have on my trailer and was what i wanted as i travel twice a year to bring my daughter to college. I wanted the same tire and rim so all tires wear and travel the same as it is 1000 miles each way. The tires get a lot of long distance use.

The trailer is coming out of storage from the winter. I have 4000 miles on them so far so good.Getting ready soon to travel again to get my daughter. Hopefully the trip will be uneventful and all will be good in the world when i travel. Great tires and rims will definitely buy more when i need them.

by:

Product was good customer service and awareness of availability was sub par , will not be using etrailer again

by:

Great product and amazing fast shipping thank you

by:

Used as a replacement on my dumpbox trailer. Matched the other tires on the trailer. Resilient against nails and easy to repair when one does make it through. Warranty through this company is also great, they replaced the blowout for free and paid for the mounting services, kept it as a spare.

by:

Good tires for the price, especially if your distance towing each year is limited

by:

Well let me say that I received exactly what I ordered. The shipping was free and very fast. The tire is the only question mark. Being it is a spare, I may never find out if it is good or bad.

by:

I installed Westlake tires on my 21ft toy hauler last spring and they have been great! I had Power King tires on it before and it seemed like I had a blow out every other trip. ~2,000 miles on them so far and look forward to another worry free season. Shipping was fast with no issues.

  • Choosing Correct Trailer Tire Load Range and Speed Rating
Given the same weight load on them, tires of Load Range E will tend to run cooler than tires of Load Range D. The same is true between a LR D tire and a LR C, etc. Since heat is a trailer tire's worst enemy and the root cause for most failures, using a tire with a higher-rated Load Range is a good idea when you have the option. Tires that are operated right at their maximum load capacity will run hotter than ones that are working at only 75% of their capacity. Your total trailer weight...

If that is the case then yes you can use the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range E # LHAW124 on your trailer hub. In regard to lug piloted wheels like the above, the opening for the pilot hole on the wheel needs to be larger than the opening for the pilot hole on the trailer hub. The pilot hole opening on this wheel is 4.29" which is larger than 3-5/8" so there shouldn't be any issues.

  • Recommended 15 Inch Trailer Tires and Wheels for Long Life
We like to keep our prices pretty competitive. We recommend that trailer tires be replaced every 6 or 7 years regardless of how worn they are. Since trailer tires are often not used everyday, like vehicle tires, a lot of times they get old before they wear out. Tires break down over time just from being exposed to the elements like sunlight and saltwater. A trailer wheel will last much longer than the tires, often for many years, depending on how the trailer is used and the construction...

I recommend that you replace the old 7.00-15 LT trailer tires with the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part # LHAW124 as long as you have the clearance. I recommend this because the Westlake trailer tire is a radial tire and all of the 7.00-15 LT we sell are bias trailer tires. Bias tires are an older design and have a stiffer sidewall than a radial. Now if you were stranded on the side of the road and that's all you had available...absolutely use it to get home but I wouldn't recommend it as an ideal solution.
