  • How to Accurately Measure Spindle Dimensions
The range of trailer spindles we offer is shown on the linked page. These include both round and square stub types rated for axles ranging from 2,000 lbs to 7,000 lbs. On the chart you can see the key dimensions for five points on the spindle, including where the grease seal rides (B) and where the bearings ride (C and D). Spindle dimensions must be taken with precision, to the nearest few thousandths of an inch; fractional dimensions are not accurate enough so you will want to use a precision...

  • Determining Which Replacement Axle Is Correct For 1991 Escort Trailer
I would be happy to help you find the correct replacement axle for your 1991 Escort trailer, but unfortunately we do not have a break down of the specific components your trailer uses so you will need to verify a few bits of information. First you will need to find the axle rating of your current axle. The easiest way to do this is to look for the axle tag on the center of the axle and on there the axle rating (GAWR) will be listed. If this tag is missing from the axle then you can take...

  • Determining Replacement Hubs for EZ Lube Spindles
EZ Lube spindles are compatible with all idler hub and brake hub and drum assemblies, and the only difference is the seal and grease cap. To determine the correct replacement hub for your trailer, you will need to pull off your existing hubs to determine the bearing numbers. The difference between the EZ lube hub and drums and the non EZ lube hub and drums is the grease cap and seal. The EZ lube ones like the # 84546UC3-EZ have a removable rubber seal on the cap that allows you to access...

  • What Spindle Fits Trailer Bearings L68149 and L44649
The outer bearing you have of LM12749 indicates you have a spindle that current trailer hubs do not fit since the diameter of the spindle for that bearing is .86 inch. Current spindles have at least a .99 inch diameter. For a spindle that fits the bearing numbers you bought of # L68149 and # L44649 you'd need a spindle like # TRU47FR.

  • Replacement Square Spindle for 1994 Trail Rite Trailer
For your axle the spindle you need the Square #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-1/2" Wide # TRU47FR. This does not have the attached brake flange so you will need to either modify a flange like # 4-35 or salvage the one you have.

The spindle that you referenced, part # TRU47FR, will work great for you. This spindle features a 4 inch long stub, and is rated for a 3,500-lb axle. I have attached a link to a product review video for this spindle you can check out. • Replacement Hub Drum Availability for a 2009 Leonard Dove Tail Car Hauler
Most likely the correct replacement hub and drum you would need is the part # AKHD-545-35-K which has the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you need plus a 3,500 lb capacity. To verify this you will need to pull the bearing numbers off of the hub you have now installed on the trailer. If the numbers are L68149 and L44649 this would match right up to your spindle. Thanks for the information. For a 8 on 5-1/2" lug hub with a item # 28580 inner bearing you'll want the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # 42866UC3. This is a 12" diameter hub that fits 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs axles. It fits a item # 14125A outer bearing.

  • What Spindle Should be Used to Fit in Axle Tubing of 1-7/16 inch And 2,000 lb Capacity
The best spindle option we have is the 2,000 lb axle spindle part # TRU94FR which has an outer diameter of where it would install in an axle of 1.25 inches. As far as the diameter of tubing to use for the axle we really can't recommend that and be able to ensure you'd have the capacity you'd need.

  • Is It Ok To Use A Scratched Spindle On A Trailer Axle
It will depend on how deep and long the scratch is. You want to make sure the bearing will still get a good purchase on the spindle, but you will also need to make sure the seal will not have a gap that will allow grease or oil to leak out. If the bearing is sitting weird or if there is a gap with the seal, you will need to replace the spindle. We do have a bunch of different options for this and I included a link to our spindle page, just in case.

  • Troubleshooting Single Tire Overheating on Tandem Axle Trailer I have a 2 axle trailor with 4 bran
I'm assuming since you mentioned the psi for the tires that you have them inflated correctly. Trailer tires should be at the max psi unless the manufacturer says otherwise. Since you don't have any uneven wear, and nothing else is overheating aside from that tire, it sounds like there is an internal issue with the tire itself. It might be a loose belt or something similar. Since these are new tires, I would contact the manufacturer and see about getting a replacement under warranty. If...

You are correct a 1-5/8 inch diameter is not a standard spindle size, however I think I can get you something that might work. Since you supplied the tire size, I was able to track down a tire capacity of approximately 950 pounds. For a single axle trailer with this size tires you would be looking at a capacity under 1900 pounds. So you would use two spindles rated at 1,000 pounds each like the the # TRU94FR, which would work for an axle rating up to 2,000 pounds. This spindle has an...
