Speaker 1: Today, we'll be having a look at the CE Smith line of U-bolt mounting kits for mounting round trailer axles. Here's what our kit comes with. It's everything you need for replacing the U-bolts on a single axle on your trailer. We have 4 new U-bolts, you'll have 2 per side; 2 new plates, 1 per side; 8 new lock washers, you'll be using 4 for each side of the trailer; and 8 new nuts, again 4 for each side of the trailer.You can see how well our U-bolts grip around the contours of our axle. This'll keep the axle firmly attached to our leaf springs, so we don't have to worry about it slipping and sliding.Now because we have the zinc and the galvanized finish on our plate and our hardware, this will better protect them from corrosion from the elements, especially salt spray. It's not an issue if you decide to use them on a boat trailer such as this one.Now many of our customers have had to make a second phone call or send an email to us after they bought a new axle for their trailer because they found, once they tried to remove the old one or put the new one on, that they couldn't get their factory U-bolts off.
They had to cut them off, and now they're searching for a replacement. This kit will be a perfect solution for this problem here.Now many of our customers compared these to the Redline line of U-bolt kits. Now the main difference you're going to see between this one and those is that those do not have the galvanized or the zinc finish on the plates or the hardware, which will cause them to rust out faster.As you can see, we already have our new axle sitting on top of our leaf springs. Now this kit could work for an axle that sits on top or below your leaf springs. It works for both applications.
You don't need to worry if yours resides below, you can still use this kit for that.We'll start by taking our new U-bolts and dropping them over our axle on either side of our leaf spring. Now we'll take our new plate. We want to make sure that this flange right here faces down, this hole here in the center lines up with the alignment pin on our leaf spring, and we'll insert our U-bolts through the holes. Place on our lock washers, and we'll put that on our nuts.Now we can start to tighten our hardware, making sure we tighten them evenly as possible. Now we'll torque our hardware again, making sure we alternate to ensure that we're doing it as evenly as possible.And that completes our look at the CE Smith line of U-bolt kits for mounting round trailer axles..

Zinc plating resists rust and corrosion - great for boat trailers.The product themselves are quality however, the customer service and shipping is what was dissapointing. I originally ordered 4 items. I was told only one item was on backorder. Not a big deal. I checked a week later on the backorder and was told that they did not know when an item would come from the namufactuere. However, it was a different item from the first. So two items were not available and turned out to not be available. It was a lack of communication and I had to figure this out by calling after waiting a week and several misguided emails. Next was the packaging. It was all broken up and taped when I got it. Whoever packaged these items threw 4 heavy leaf springs and 2 sets of U-bolts into a box without securing them. They arrived but the two U-bolt packedges were previouly opened and sealed with masking tape and i'm missing all the nuts and lock washers from one package. The box could have come open during shipment but they were not secured inside the box at all, which led to the catstrophy inside the box. Due to all this, I will probably not order again from this site.
The bolts worked great but the base plate was not drilled out enough to be able to fit, I had to reuse the old plates which worked fine.

The u-bolts and plates are of excellent quality. Bolts are yellow cadmium plated and the plates are hot dip galvanized. The fit was perfect, no issues at all during assembly.

Very heavy duty - grade 8 Checked torque and zero movement - nuts stayed tight! Use the proper U-Bolt kit for your needs.

What excellent service I received. I received my shipment promptly and one of my items was ordered incorrectly. I wish I had known but was not too bummed. It was probably my mistake. When I called to re-order the rep recommended I go right to the manufacturer for the special part, and gave me the number. etrailer credited my credit card for the incorrect part and because it was not an expensive item did not require me to return it. Thank You!!!

Other then UPS shipping everything was Awesome! Very fast shipping but just some damage and when I called William kicked ass and sent me what was missing ASAP!!!!
I have not been able to use parts as UPS lost one entire shipment, damaged another shipment and etrailer left some parts out of the replacement shipment. I want to replace all the items on my trailer together in one day.
Anyways, your company has been good about fixing the issues.
I hope UPS pays for the damage and lost shipments.
