What is the overall thickness of this leaf pack?

The 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e27SR is 2-1/4" thick at the thickest part of the spring pack(not including center pin). Each of the 6 leaves are 3/8" thick. If you are mounting this to a 3" axle you will want the U-Bolt Kit # CE23003, otherwise we have the U-Bolt Kit # CE23002 if you are attaching it to a 2-3/8" axle.

The number of leaves on a leaf spring does not dictate strength or capacity, so as you said, a 3000lb rated leaf spring (6,000lb axle capacity) can have various numbers of leaves since it is up to how the manufacture designed it. I wouldn't look…

Sounds like you are looking for the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit part #CE23003 which is a kit for 3 inch axles, has u-bolt plates and matching nuts. The length of the bolts is 7 inches and the diameter of them are 1/2 inch.
