The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Auto mechanic for 28 years and my trailer will take a 5 on 4 3/4 Chevy wheel. I ordered 5 on 4 3/4 hubs and they are too small for my wheels. 1 person I talked to on the phone had me convinced I was nuts and had me take my old and new to tge local parts store. To makr hom happy. I took both hubs to my local Napa store and they came to the same measurements as I have always known. I then called back and Kimberly then instructed me on 3rd differnt way to take measurements and she claims I have a 5 on 5 hub and they do not have those currentl in stock in the etrailer brand. Beware before you order hubs as their measurements are different than the automobile world measurements. AND I had to pay my own shipping return.
So far this hub seems to be great! It came in great condition, nicely greased, and installed very easily. Have not driven far yet but seem to be working very nicely so far.

Perfect fit and easy installation on my tandem trailer.
unfortunately, the wrong item was shipped. I advised rep. that it needed to fit over my brakes shoes. make sure you emphasize the drum/hub assembly must fit over your brake pads.
It seems silly to be so excited over a hub… but these made install so quick and easy it felt like cheating on a test. Pregreased, had nice plastic dust caps for shipping, pop them on, adjust and go. had both sides installed in under 25 minutes. the only hard part was getting the cap started in the hub, its a very tight fit. Highly recommend.

Ordered the new axle and two new hubs for a repair on my 6’ X 10’ single axle trailer, they were a direct bolt in getting me back on the road. They have been used for a lot of projects since. Would by again if needed. Holding up nicely. Being able to grease the hubs from the outside has saved a lot of time and hassle. And upkeep should avoid the problem that led to the new parts.

After a year I’m happy to report they are holding up great, no problems, so easy to grease and maintain.
Item arrived quick and was as described. Worked great.
Horrible, Horrible experience. Product showed in stock to be shipped and received within a few days of ordering. Placed my order based on that and almost immediately received an email that it wasn’t in stock and I would be notified when it was. Took 5 days to get a response from CS’s Amy H. When I questioned the misinformation on the site of “In stock, ready to ship” she told me that she had checked into it, had actually found enough product to fill my order and was “bumping me up in line” only to be told again when I questioned it a week later that it was not in stock at which time I was offered a more expensive part that required more labor on my end than I had quoted my customer. Finally received my items 4 weeks after ordering and wouldn’t you know it, right box, wrong hubs. Call CS & got “yep, the whole shipment was wrong with no foreseeable ETA for the right parts & do I want to continue to wait”. Again, Horrible experience. First time customer lost for good.

I had to return them, because I ordered the wrong bolt pattern.
I ordered hub, cotter pin and washer, the hub came with bearings, seals, and races already installed in hub, seems to of good quality, good prices , fast shipping and the sales people are very knowledgeable and friendly, I will definitely be buying again from this company whenever I need trailer parts.

Trailer hub is still working like new, very good quality hub and bearings.

Replaced the Hubs on my Bass Tracker trailer with parts from E-Trailer. didn't measure correctly so I had to return the first ones but then settled on Galvanized hubs. Could not be happier. Much better quality than the originals.

The stud spacing on these hubs are not real common. You not only had the correct size but, the bearings and races fit very well. The customer support and fast shipping will bring me back.

You were on the right track however it was just a little bit off on where to measure to. For an odd pattern like the 5 bolt one easy way to measure is from the center of one bolt hole to the farthest edge of one of the two farthest holes. Or my favorite way to measure is from the center of one bolt hole to the one that is adjacent to it. From there you can use the chart in the FAQ below to see what bolt pattern you have. For example if it is three inches like yours then it is a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. We also have a printable template that can also help.
