What Is The Max Wheel Size For a 7 Inch Diameter Hub/Drum
Question:
Can I mount a 15 inch wheel on a 7 inch drum/hub with the same lug pattern? I have a small 2k pound axle trailer that I want to put bigger wheels on. Thanks

I do have an option for you but the largest wheel you can use with a 7" diameter hub/drum has a 12" diameter. The reason for this is that there is not enough surface area on the hub/drum to support that large of a wheel therefore I cannot recommend you use a 15" diameter wheel on a 7" diameter hub/drum.
In order to use a 15" diameter wheel you have two options. You can either remove the brakes and use an idler hub like the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K or you can replace the entire axle as there is not a hub/drum for a 2,000 lb axle that can be used with a 15" diameter wheel.
If this is the option that you would like to take then I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System part # A35RS545E. This system will be a massive improvement over your current one as the integrated rebound spring will allow you to haul the trailer without any weight just as easy as you would with weight. The larger brakes are also going to provide greater stopping power.
I understand the above may not be what you are looking for so if not I have attached a list of our 12" diameter wheels/tires for you. If the reason you wanted to go with a larger wheel/tire was to gain more clearance than you can flip the axle if not already done so using part # APUBR-10 and part # TRSS175 (2) instead.
