Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Pro Series Trailer Ball Mount for two inch hitches. And this is a great option for those of you that tow a variety of different trailers or want to have the ability to, because there's three different ball sizes available with one ball mount. So that makes it great for being able to tow a trailer like this one day, and be able to swap over to something may be a little bit different the next day. So if during the week you're doing some work, around the house and need a work trailer, but on the weekend you want to cut loose and have some fun, and both trailers have two different sized couplers, not to worry, you're good to go. Now, this does not have a rise or drop, so just make sure when choosing this ball mount, that it measures with the coupler of your trailer and also with the hitch, and that way it's nice and even.

So hooked up to our work trailer right now, we have a two inch coupler. So we have it in a two inch configuration, and whenever we need to swap it over, it's as simple as rotating it, putting the pin back in, and we're good to go. So, let's take a closer look at it. Now, depending on the vehicle you have and maybe what kind of work you do, you might not always pull the same trailer, and to be able to have to swap over to a completely different ball mount just means that that's more ball mounts that you have to store and also purchase. Whereas this one, you have all three of them, they're already welded on.

They're one piece, so you don't have to worry about torquing them down at all. It's ready to drop in and go. Now, you will need a five eights pin and clip, and that way you can keep this obviously in place. You can see there's holes drilled throughout, and that way you can rotate and it's all lined up the same, making it super easy for your two inch hitch. Now, as far as weight capacities go, that clearly depends on which ball size you're using.

So, with our two inch ball that we had hooked up to our trailer, we're able to hold 6,000 pounds of gross trailer weight capacity, and that's gonna be the weight of the trailer, plus the accessories loaded up. Now, if we swap over to our inch and seven eights, that's gonna put us at 2000, and you can see our two and five sixteens is gonna be 10,000. So, you can really cover a wide spectrum of trailers from all the way down to 2000 up to 10,000, depending on that ball size. Now also going along with those gross trailer weight ratings, you do have tongue weight ratings that are also gonna go with that, and it's gonna be pretty much 10% of each of these capacities. So your 2,000 pounds will be 200, 6,000 is obviously 600, and your 10,000 is going to be a thousand for that tongue weight.

So, just make sure that not only are you checking the capacities of your ball mountain, but also the hitch, the trailer, and what the vehicle can tow, and take the lowest of all those numbers and that way, you're staying safe, you don't wanna overload any of the components. Our shank is hollow, which is really nice, because it makes it a little bit lighter because you do have three balls on the end of it. So for storing it inside your vehicle or in the back of your truck, it's gonna make it a little bit easier and a little less heavy to have to put in each time. You also have a steel construction so it's really sturdy, and it has also got that black powder coat finished to keep it looking nice with chrome plated balls. So even if you leave this on your vehicle year round, it's gonna look good and hold up to those elements. Now, something you're also gonna want to check is making sure that you have clearance, that the ball sticks out far enough to be able to hook up your trailer with your vehicle configuration. And from the center of our hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, it's gonna be eight inches. So, you might wanna take a measurement, on your vehicle just to make sure that it's gonna work with your trailer. And that was a look at the Pro Series Ball Mount with three different ball sizes for two inch hitches.

Great product

EVERTHING WAS EXCELLENT FROM PLACING THE ORDER TO RECEIVING THE PACKAGE AS WELL AS THE FOLLOW UP. WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND ETRAILER....

by:

I ordered this hitch so that I could level out my boat trailer . It’s really nice heavy construction. It did the job for me . Really nice ease of changing ball size . Only thing is the sticker was off when it came out of the box . Not usable so it exposed the hole that hitch rotates on

by:

Perfect for my truck (2022 ram 1500) and my needs.

by:

I replaced an older, single ball drop mount with this one a year ago. It has worked great and gave me more confidence when towing on the 2" ball as it is rated with higher tow capacity than any of the others I looked at. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

by:

This is the best hitch for those of us that spend a lot of time pulling various trailers and like that added feature of a step to get in the bed. Everything from a small trailer to tow my mower to the shop, to an 12K loaded equipment trailer with tractor and implements. Adjustable height and switching ball sizes and back to the step is just a pin pull away. Zero issues with quality or secure towing. I would buy this again if I ever needed a second one for some reason. Highly recommend.

by:

for the past 20,000 miles this hitch has been exposed to the elements and the chrome has only discolored mildly despite the north east winter and road salts. the snap ring attached to the ring cable broke but a 1/8 snap ring from tractor supply was an easy fit/replacement. it's been towing trailers loaded between 3-13,000 lbs for several 300 mile runs and there have been no significant issues (knock wood). Overall this has been an expensive option but it's been doing the job and is way better then keeping a milk crate full of extra draw bars... Bottom line: So Far, So Good.

by:

Fits well and essay to use. I have several trailers around the house. Heavy to light loads. Pulling tractors, 4x4 wheelers or off to kayak in the rivers or lakes. When the kids want to play they have to set it up. The ease of setting the hitch up make for a quick get-a-way and a fun day. Evan for the kid to set up.

Thank etrailer

Great Product. Has worked as expected. I have been very satisfied with it and would recommend this product to anyone who asked.
I have been so satisfied with this product I would like to get a pintle mounting plate for it. However I am required to purchase a new shank to get a pintle mounting plate to fit the existing product I have. Is there any way possible to purchase a pintle mounting plate without the shank?

by:

Works good, no rattles. Works for all trailer types/sizes. Only complaint is the cable that restrains the cotter pin isn’t long enough, had to cut it and make my own. Still gonna give it five stars because it wasn’t a big deal and the hitch does work very well.

by:

I loved the product when I first got it, because of the looks, better capacity then competing hitches, flexibility, and ease of use. Now after a year I am kind of disappointed because it is already rusting quite a bit. Also, recently I had to rotate it from 2 5/16" to 2" and it was quite difficult to rotate because of rust and it doesn't appear to have a way to lube it.

by:

Great product. It's great to have all the option with the D.O.T. weight rating. It is a bite longer then a stranded hitch and you may have to lengthen your safety chains. But well worth it.

by:

Product came in a very timely manner (2 days after it was ordered). Very happy as my job requires me to pull multiple trailers in the same day and of course, each trailer has a different size ball as well as a different ride height. So this product allows me to only have to carry one hitch, rather than 3 as well switching between ball sizes very quickly and as much as necessary.

by:

Fast delivery: item arrived in good condition.
Very
sturdy and massive.
Don't forget to get a hitch pin! I got part id #63069 which is made for this hitch and locks the 2 main bolts with locking pins.

by:

The product has performed as expected. My only complaint was the original photo on etrailer showed tethering for the pins. The received product did not have then. When I inquired about little resolution was provided.

by:

Very High Quality, works great! Delivered a day early. Glad it came when it did, used it within 10 mins of receiving it for a 200 mile trip pulling 8000lbs plus. The first time I've pulled with a new truck that sits much higher than the old one. This hitch allowed me to pull my trailer level, and easily. Looks as good as it performs.

Thanks!

by:

Solid hitch! Don't really need the 1-7/8 ball unless you have older trailers with small balls

by:

Very heavy duty, maybe an overkill for my application but better to have it that way. Went to move the balls to the backside of the unit, but it won't slide underneath. I tried it both ways, but this isn't a deal breaker. I love the towing capacity, the flexibility of the different sizes.

by:

Very heavy duty, best load ratings I could find in a hitch type like this. Simplistic design. Etrailer customer serve was outstanding. Kudos for their honesty on the price match and working to get me the part in hand quickly.

by:

This hitch is really useful if you have a few trailers. It’s really easy to change the setup..

by:

Fits my truck (2016 Ford F250) perfectly and came promptly. It was very well packaged.

This will be doing a lot of work hauling UTVs, campers and construction trailers.

by:

Very solid hitch. Easy to adjust. Definitely worth the money.
etrailer.com is awesome. This is the second time I have ordered from them this month. Both times, my order was processed almost immediately and I received it in 2 days!
