Everything we needed at a great price.

by:

The hitch I received fit like a glove. Now I don’t have to carry a lot of different trailer balls with me and also don’t need the receiver sleeve either. Thanks again for getting it here in a hurry.

by:

The hitch worked great so far and I got it in good time!!

by:

My 2 hitches came in good shape, they work like a champ.

Cool to follow up on your product. The multi-ball works as it should. I bought it since I didn't know if the trailer I would get would be 2" or 2 1/4. I tow a 4,000 # trailer/race car with it.

It's a heavy piece to carry around, but I feel that it will last a good many years. I did make a spacer to cram into the receiver, so the hitch doesn't rattle as much.
Otherwise it's great.

Picked up my teardrop in ABQ on 2/17/23, and the Curt ball mount lined up perfectly with no drop/rise, and the extra length gave clearance for my rear door mounted spare tire. This mount is a beast, and the "overbuilt" nature of it gave me confidence that my Bronco would tow the teardrop easily. I also got the Curt Echo wireless brake controller, which synced easily to my phone and was easy to install, set up, and use. Overall a great towing experience, thanks to etrailer and Curt!

by:

Very versatile - can use it on both my vehicles that have very different hitch height. Clean welds, super solid. Weighs a LOT!

by:

Works great used for 3 different trailer we have handy it's heavy well made.

by:

the packaging showed up as a mess, need to see if its damaged when I open it

by:

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

by:

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ??

by:

Hitch is a solid unit. I bought this to accommodate my 10,000lb hitch. Adjusts easily to get the right ride height. No issues with the hitch at all.

Coming in at about 45 pounds, the D900 Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount is a BEAST!
I purchased for use with my '08 Expedition towing either a small utility trailer w/ 1 7/8" ball or my DooLittle Bullitt cargo trailer w/ 2" ball.
I needed 5 inches of drop (at least) for both.
This is just about the only economical mount in which to accomplish this. Most if not all two ball mounts are 2" and 2 5/16" balls.
Many reviews comment on the length that this mount sticks out and initially that was a concern of mine.
Please see the Q&A of the D900 product page to address those issues.
Short story: A hollow/tubular extension shank of (about or greater)15" reduces vehicle hitch capacity by 50%.
The D900 shank and other components are SOLID steel. No reduced capacity.
Specifically in my case; this extra length will allow me some personal maneuvering room when hooked up to the DooLittle and raising the lift gate of my Expedition.
Clearance between raised lift gate and cargo trailer was about two inches using my old shank, and I should about double that.
The anti-rattle tightening bolt is a nice touch.
This is my first Etrailer purchase, but not my last.

Quaility is top notch, price is great, can't beat it. It's perfect if you need a little more distance from your hitch and your bumper. I did not get a extended A frame on my trailer and with this hitch it works great. I'm pulling a 24ft cargo trailer 10k rating.
I added 4 locking pins so I don't have to worry about anything missing.

  • Would Curt Tri Ball part # C42KR Work For Towing 7,900 lb Trailer
The Curt Multi-Ball Mount part # C42KR has more than enough capacity for a 7,900 lb trailer as long as the trailer uses a 2 inch or 2-5/16 inch ball (it will). The capacity for the 2 inch ball is 10k and the capacity for the 2-5/16 inch ball is 14k. This ball mount also has zero rise or drop. For it to be ideal for your setup the height of the hitch from the top of the opening to the ground would need to be the same as from the bottom of the coupler to the ground on the trailer when it's level.

  • Hitch Ball Needed to Tow a 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 19RD
I was able to look up a manual online for your 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 19RD and it said (on page 3-7) that depending on your model your coupler will either need a 2" or a 2-5/16" hitch ball. I recommend using a multi hitch ball like the straight # C42KR or the adjustable # BWTS10049B. Both of these include a 1-7/8", 2", and a 2-5/16" hitch ball which will come in handy for various towing applications. You also need a hitch pin & clip # PC3 or a locking hitch pin like part # 63232 to secure...

  • Availability of Tri-Ball Mount for 2-1/2 inch Hitch that is Steel
We have the Curt Multi-Ball part # C42KR which is a fit for 2-1/2 inch hitches, has all three hitch ball sizes, and has a 14k capacity when used with the 2-5/16 inch ball. It has a hollow shank but it's still very heavy duty. If they made a solid steel shank in this configuration it would weigh more than anyone would want to deal with.

  • Which Trailer Ball Size for 27 Foot Long Travel Trailer
A trailer of the size you mention would either use a 2 inch or a 2-5/16 inch ball. A 2 inch ball can have a capacity up to 8000 lbs, while the capacity of a 2-5/16 inch ball can range between 6,000 and 30,000 lbs. The 2-5/16 inch ball would be more likely, but I couldn't say for sure without knowing the weight of the trailer. Using a tri-ball mount like the # C42KR you referenced might be your best bet. The required ball size should be stamped into the metal on the trailer coupler.

  • What Size Hitch Ball Does Coupler of 2011 Forest River Roo 21SS Take
I did some checking and it looks like your 2011 Forest River Roo 21SS has a coupler on it designed for a 2 inch ball. That said, someone could have replaced the coupler with a different size as that's not uncommon so what you can do is go out and look at the coupler on your trailer and you'll see the size stamped on it. The Reese Tri-Ball part # C42KR that you referenced has these two sizes plus a 1-7/8 inch ball.

  • Why is the Curt Tri-Ball Mount # C42KR Hard to Fit in Factory Ford Hitch
The issue you are running into is that the Ford 2-1/2 inch hitches have unpredictable radiuses on the corners of the hitch opening. It's only on their 2-1/2 inch hitches, but the corners of the hitch opening on some factory Ford hitches end up so round that square shank accessories don't like to easily fit. The solution is to try and remove the powder coat on the shank of the accessory to allow it to install easier. We thought they had gotten better with their more recent 2-1/2 inch hitches...

  • Why Do Ford 2-1/2 inch Hitches Have Fit Issues with Aftermarket Hitch Accessories
For whatever reason the Ford 2-1/2 inch receiver hitches have round corners that do not allow most aftermarket hitch accessories to work. Since you said your hitch is 100 percent custom I do not believe this will be a problem for you since this issue is isolated to only Ford hitches. The Curt Multi-Ball Mount # C42KR should work well for you, I attached a review for this product for you to check out also.

  • How To Prevent Trailer Theft Beyond Hitch and Coupler Locks
One easy way to prevent someone from removing the ball would be to use a ball mount that has the ball attached (welded) to the shank. That way you won't have to weld a ball to a shank that isn't meant for that type of modification. Some examples include # C42KR or something adjustable that locks like # DTALBM6600. A Wheel lock such as # RA-25 would also be a good idea. The trailer would not be able to be moved with a wheel lock like this on it. And the ball mount/ball may be enough of...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2014 Jayco Eagle 314TSBH
I looked up your 2014 Jayco Eagle 314TSBH and it has an unloaded tongue weight of 906 lbs so you'd want a higher capacity weight distribution than a 1,000 lb tongue weight setup. Also when it's unloaded the trailer weighs right at 8,000 lbs and can weight up to 10,750 lbs when full loaded so you'd be looking at a tongue weight of most likely around 1,100 lbs or more. Ideally the trailer's tongue weight falls right into the middle of the range of the system. So for that the Reese Steadi...

  • How To Determine Ball Mount and Ball Size To Tow 2003 Thor Citation
The size of the ball that you need to tow your 2003 Thor Citation Travel Trailer is determined by what size coupler is on the trailer. More than likely you will need a 2" or 2-5/16" ball. The required ball size should be stamped onto the coupler. Another thing to take into consideration is the rise or drop that may be needed to tow the travel trailer level with your vehicle. I recommend to use an adjustable ball mount Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount Kit w/ 2 Greaseless Balls...
