Cool to follow up on your product. The multi-ball works as it should. I bought it since I didn't know if the trailer I would get would be 2" or 2 1/4. I tow a 4,000 # trailer/race car with it.

It's a heavy piece to carry around, but I feel that it will last a good many years. I did make a spacer to cram into the receiver, so the hitch doesn't rattle as much.
Otherwise it's great.

Picked up my teardrop in ABQ on 2/17/23, and the Curt ball mount lined up perfectly with no drop/rise, and the extra length gave clearance for my rear door mounted spare tire. This mount is a beast, and the "overbuilt" nature of it gave me confidence that my Bronco would tow the teardrop easily. I also got the Curt Echo wireless brake controller, which synced easily to my phone and was easy to install, set up, and use. Overall a great towing experience, thanks to etrailer and Curt!

by:

Very versatile - can use it on both my vehicles that have very different hitch height. Clean welds, super solid. Weighs a LOT!

by:

Works great used for 3 different trailer we have handy it's heavy well made.

by:

the packaging showed up as a mess, need to see if its damaged when I open it

by:

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

by:

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ??

by:

Hitch is a solid unit. I bought this to accommodate my 10,000lb hitch. Adjusts easily to get the right ride height. No issues with the hitch at all.

Coming in at about 45 pounds, the D900 Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount is a BEAST!
I purchased for use with my '08 Expedition towing either a small utility trailer w/ 1 7/8" ball or my DooLittle Bullitt cargo trailer w/ 2" ball.
I needed 5 inches of drop (at least) for both.
This is just about the only economical mount in which to accomplish this. Most if not all two ball mounts are 2" and 2 5/16" balls.
Many reviews comment on the length that this mount sticks out and initially that was a concern of mine.
Please see the Q&A of the D900 product page to address those issues.
Short story: A hollow/tubular extension shank of (about or greater)15" reduces vehicle hitch capacity by 50%.
The D900 shank and other components are SOLID steel. No reduced capacity.
Specifically in my case; this extra length will allow me some personal maneuvering room when hooked up to the DooLittle and raising the lift gate of my Expedition.
Clearance between raised lift gate and cargo trailer was about two inches using my old shank, and I should about double that.
The anti-rattle tightening bolt is a nice touch.
This is my first Etrailer purchase, but not my last.

by:

Quaility is top notch, price is great, can't beat it. It's perfect if you need a little more distance from your hitch and your bumper. I did not get a extended A frame on my trailer and with this hitch it works great. I'm pulling a 24ft cargo trailer 10k rating.
I added 4 locking pins so I don't have to worry about anything missing.

by:

I have nothing but good things to say about this hitch all the way around. It's been a year and I have had zero problems. Easy on line ordering, fast shipping and arrival, good quality. Will never buy my trailering needs anywhere else.

by:

Got to tow a boat trailer that sits 6" below the hitch when level. Probably overkill to use a 45 lb hitch for primarily a 2k lb boat, but I'm sure it will outlast both the trailer and truck.
As far as the 'protective coating' I don't care much if it's not pretty, and for a solid 2" piece if metal, a lil rust is the least of my concerns.

by:

Works great! No more having to remember the right ball for the job

by:

This is a very impressive hitch and everyone asks me where I got it. Perfect for my dump-run trailer. Super heavy duty and thanks to the length it gives me even more turning radius with my trailer than I've ever had. This is actually the longest one I could find that still has the high weight hauling specifications I needed.

by:

This is by far the best hitch I’ve bought and will be ordering another. Very versatile

by:

I like it because it has the 3 most common ball sizes in one. This way you don't need multiple ball mounts, just select the correct size and go. It is solid steel which makes it a little heavy but that makes it stand up to anything you want to tow. Overall I'm very satisfied.

It’s great!

  • Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13381 Height When Installed On a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13381 on a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan in our shop the top inside of the receiver tube sat at 11-1/2" tall. Using a Curt Multi-Ball Mount # C62KR that does not have a rise or drop would put your coupler height at 12" to the bottom of the coupler. Without knowing the height of your 14 foot john boat trailer when it sits level I cannot tell you if you will need a rise style ball mount like the Curt Ball Mount # C45070. If you can tell me...

  • How to Choose the Correct Hitch Ball Size
A 2" hitch ball like part # A-90 is pretty standard but you really need to know what size hitch ball your coupler is compatible with. It should be stamped on the trailer coupler itself. If you already have a ball mount then you need to make sure that the shank of your hitch ball is compatible with that as well. The # A-90 has a shank with a 1-1/4" diameter and is 2-5/8" long. For people who will be towing different sized trailers it is a lot easier to have multiple hitch ball options....

  • Ball Mount Recommendation For Trailer Hitch and Trailer Coupler with Same Height
Since your hitch and coupler height are the same, I recommend using a ball mount with a straight shank, like the Curt # C62KR. This ball mount features a 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2-5/16 inch balls. The straight shank on this ball mount will allow you to tow your utility trailer level. If you don't like the idea of a multi-ball mount, you can use a ball mount with a 2 inch drop, like the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount 3/4 inch Rise or 2 Inch Drop # AMSC2, with a hitch ball that has a rise, like...

  • What Ball Mount to Use With no Drop
I applaud your creativity and that'll work but we can simplify it for you as well. Since you have only 1/8" drop you can just use a ball mount with no drop (or rise) so you don't have to put together multiple parts: - Curt Hollow Shank 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" and 2-5/16" Balls # C45002 This is a straight ball mount with no rise or drop, and since it only has 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls if you need a 1-7/8" ball instead you could use the tri-ball mount # C62KR. Along with either...

  • Is the Curt Adjustable Multi-Ball Ball Mount Compatible with a Surge Coupler
Yes, you can use the Curt multi-ball adjustable ball mount # D900 with a trailer that has surge brakes. There may be a little more movement associated with this ball mount since it is pinned in so many locations but that would not cause any problems with a surge coupler. If you want something more stable then you could use something like # C62KR but it is not adjustable. Or for something that would be more stable and still offer adjustability you could use # BWTS10048B.

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 2 Inch Ball with No Rise and No Drop
For a 2 inch hitch ball that has no rise and no drop, I recommend the Curt Solid 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" and 2-5/16" Balls - 10K - Black # C45660. For your anti-rattle, I recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches # RM-061 which will give you the anti-rattle and then # e98880 for a locking hitch pin. If you want a 3 ball option I recommend # C62KR.

  • How to Easily Transport a 10 Kayak with a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox and I can tell you that a 10 foot kayak will not fit in the back of my vehicle so unfortunately I don't think you are going to be able to fit one in your 2013 Equinox. Maybe if you don't have a passenger and you put the front passenger seat down too, but not just with the back seats. If sounds like you are needing an easy way to load your kayak as lifting it up to a roof rack can be challenging. We do have an alternative solution for you though. This involves...
