Multiple Stacked Receivers for Easy Adjustment

stacked receivers

This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 6 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.

With the 6 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover. This heavy-duty mount is built with a 1,500-lb tongue weight, so you can even use multiple hitch accessories at the same time, as long as there are no clearance issues. This means that you can use your hitch-mounted bike rack to haul your bikes while also flat towing your vehicle.

Amazing hitch will NEVER buy another! Quality craftsmanship, excellent service from etrailer!

by:

This thing is a monster, going to be perfect for what I got it for, had to have a 12 inch rise for flat towing our 2021 raised Jeep wrangler. looked all over for something strong enough for the job, and this beast is perfect.

by:

The hitch was perfect for the job that I was working on.95 bronco, which I mounted it at the front of vehicle so that the customer can move boats around while looking at the front windsheild. Also was able to use it at the rear of vehicle also.Perfect choice.

by:

Part came as advertised. I was most impressed with the customer service. Quinn F was insanely helpful and thorough. Really made this process easy.

by:

Works well as I have different trailers that require height changes, this fits the bill!

by:

Very practical for the height that is n eeded

by:

Haven't used it yet but this thing is very well built. I moved away from a wrap around style drop down hitch to this, machined pockets for the ball, the wrap around style has too much movement with heavier loads. Shipping and price very good as well in my opinion.

by:

This ball mount is about as heavy duty as it gets. I needed it for the 12.5” drop not for so much for it’s 10K rating. The quality is outstanding, precision made. I’m sold on Gen-Y’s. I’d buy this again. eTrailer got this to me super fast which is a huge plus.

by:

Bought this to pull my 34 ft camper behind a 2500 ram with a 8in lift work worked excellent no problem at all.

by:

Used on 2020 Jayco Seneca 37K motorhome. Product is really well built and easy to use. So far only towed about 50 miles, this has leveled our auto hauler trailer.

by:

I love my gen y hitch! Have had 0 problems with it

Works great for towing trailers with different heights of sway bar hitches. The ability to put whatever kind of hitch you want at any height is invaluable, I will probably never have to buy a drop hitch ever again in my life, the construction on this is very stout.

by:

After using it, but they standard trailer the ball hitch cracked did not know who to reach out to called you guys multiple times and no response

by:

This hitch is solid! We used it to flat-tow a Jeep behind our motorhome and use the top slot for the bike rack. It was super solid and performed perfectly during this 4500+ mile trip.

by:

Very heavy duty stacked receiver and dual ball. Combined with the stabilizer bars i feel safe hauling my trailers. Still able to use my other hitches with this receiver too.

by:

I've not towed with it yet, but it's very high quality and seems way overbuilt. I like the hammered finish and the components are very nice. Once I figured out how they work, Gen-Y's 'twisting lock pin' is easier to use than a standard cotter pin and adds some piece of mind that it's not going anywhere. Love that you can store the ball mount in front of the hitch when not using it - including sideways so that it doesn't reduce ground clearance, even when in the lowest receiver. The only thing I don't like about it - which etrailer comments on in the online item description - is that it doesn't fit very snug. Combined with the 2-1/2 to 2" reducer sleeve, there's a fair amount of play. Not sure yet if this is going to create rattling when towing (that would reduce my stars). One note: based on the Gen-Y website's method for determining the appropropriate drop for my vehicle, I should have ordered the 10" drop. I did my own measuring and ordered the 7-1/2" drop instead, which works perfectly for my 2021 RAM 3500 SRW 4x4.

by:

All in all a good set up. A lot more play in the receiver than I expected. Fair amount of rattling around without a trailer attached. In all fairness I do live in a state with poor roads.

by:

Has done what it is supposed to do. I have used the hitch to tow two boats over the last two years using both ball sizes. The only issue is the appearance. Saltwater creates rust and break down of the coating on the hitch. Was never dunked in salt has been effected being near saltwater. Hitch was washed with freshwater after each use in salt.

I probably wouldn’t buy again. I have seen some other hitches that can do similar adjustments that do better near saltwater environments.

Holy crap, thing is built like a tank. Needed it to lower my front mount to accommodate a ebike rack. Worked great!

  • Is Hitch Stabilizer Needed When Using Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount In 12-1/2 inch Drop Setting
Yes, Gen-Y does strongly recommend using a stabilizer kit # 325-GH-0100 with the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # 325-GH-316 if you end up using a drop setting of more than 12 inches. This ball mount setup in the lowest setting is 12-1/2 inches of drop which is why you'd need it if you were to use the lowest setting. This prevents any wobble or sway from starting.

  • Can I Use The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier To Hold The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack In My RV?
Though the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195225 does have a 400 pound tongue weight capacity, it does reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 33 percent. So if your hitch is rated to 500 pounds of tongue weight, as an example, it will now be 335 pounds of carrying capacity once the # RM-195225 is used to carry the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR. With this rack weighing 70 pounds and both your bikes weighing 70 pounds, you will still be well within...

  • Parts Needed To Haul A Tow Dolly And Bike Rack Behind A 2021 Newmar Bay Star Motorhome
You would have to use a stacked receiver with a large enough rise to accommodate the bike rack sitting higher than the Kar Kaddy # DM9713093. I recommend one like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-316. This would allow you to haul a hitch mounted bike rack as well as the tow dolly.

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 13 Inch Drop on a 2017 Ram
If you are measuring from the inside top of the receiver to the bottom of your coupler then you have a 13 inch drop. I've attached an article to help, but have also included a photo for fast reference. That is a significant drop, so you can use one of the following: Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-316 Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 16K # 325-GH-516 Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 15" Drop...

  • Recommended Stacked Receiver To Haul A Bike Rack And Dolly Tow A 2009 Mini Cooper
To haul your Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # BA22B and your Mini Cooper on tow dolly you can use a Gen-Y stacked receiver like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-304 or Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-316. You'll just want to make sure the stack receiver you purchase has enough of a drop or rise to keep your tow dolly level. To help you with this I've attached...

  • Recommended Ball Mount with Large Drop for Lifted Ram 2500
We do have a nice selection of adjustable ball mounts that might work to tow your trailer level with your 2009 Ram that features an 8 inch lift. I first recommend taking a few measurements to see exactly what kind of drop you are needing on the ball mount. Starting with the truck parked on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver. Then on your trailer, take a measurement from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. The difference in these two measurements...

  • Is Stabilizer Bar Kit # 325-GH-0100 Needed When Using the Gen-Y Adjustable Receiver # 325-GH-316
To address your initial question, yes, if you are using the Gen-Y Adjustable Receiver # 325-GH-316, that has a 12-1/2" rise/drop, then you will need to use the Gen-Y Adjustable Stabilizer Bar Kit # 325-GH-0100. The reason being that the adapter hangs down so low that in order to use the lowest receiver normally and keep the weight capacity of 10,000 lbs requires some extra stability. You will want to ensure that 12" of drop is exactly what you are needing by measuring from level ground...

  • Fixed Trailer Hitch Ball Mount Needed That Has 12" Of Drop
If you're after a more traditional fixed ball mount, the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # AMSC12 will work if your trailer coupler is 26" and your receiver height is 14". This ball mount provides 12" of drop, 10-3/4" of rise, and 7,500-lbs of gross towing weight. If it's greater than 26", I recommend the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-316. This ball mount offers 12-1/2" of drop, a 10,000-lbs gross towing capacity, and has 6 integrated receiver tubes...

  • Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/Stacked Receiver And Hitch Mounted Bike Rack
It sounds like you're trying to mount a bike rack on your Gen-Y Ball Mount using a hitch adapter on the top receiver with enough clearance to not interfere with your trailer's jack. I'm not going to tell you that you can't do this (and Gen-Y says it's ok to do), but honestly, I think your best bet is returning the Gen-Y 5" Rise/Drop # 325-GH-214 that you just bought and going with one that can give you the rise you need without using a hitch adapter for your accessory.
