Multiple Stacked Receivers for Easy Adjustment

stacked receivers

This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 8 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.

pintle hitch

Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.

With the 8 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover. This heavy-duty mount is built with a 1,500-lb tongue weight, so you can even use multiple hitch accessories at the same time, as long as there are no clearance issues. This means that you can use your hitch-mounted bike rack to haul your bikes while also flat towing your vehicle.

Video Transcript for Review of Gen-Y Hitch Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Adjustable 2 Ball Mount - 325-GH-328

Hi there, I'm Michael, with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Gen-Y Adjustable Two Ball Mount with Stacked Receivers. This is going to allow you to hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle. This will slide right into your two-inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. And then it is going to provide the two-inch ball and two and five 16th inch ball. Or you compare the ball with the pintle lock here if you're using a lunette ring couplers.

So there's several different kinds of trailers that you can hook up, too. It gives you lots of versatility there. And then of course, we are going to have our eight-stack receiver tubes that are going to have the two-inch by two-inch opening. So it can accommodate both our ball and pintle lock as well as other hitch-mounted accessories. And so, bike racks, cargo carriers, that sort of thing.

So having these eight-stack receiver tubes is going to allow us to move our ball mount up and down to accommodate different height trailers. Make sure that they're gonna be riding nice and level. Our max drop from the top inside edge of our receiver tube down to where that coupler's gonna sit our lowest mounting point, is going to be 17 and a half inches. And so that's gonna give you a lot of adjustability there to accommodate those trailers that sit much lower than your hitch. This is a nice, heavy-duty steel construction.

So it is gonna be ideal for your towing extra large loads. It's got a gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds. That's of course, the weight of the trailer plus the load included. It's going to have a max tongue weight or downward pressure on your hitch ball of 1,500 pounds. This does have a zinc primer and powder coat finish, that's gonna resist corrosion, hold up well our ball, and pintle lock are going to have a matte black finish.

So it's gonna look really nice. It's going to also help provide some corrosion resistance as well. And you can see, we are going to have pins for each of our accessories. Our pintle lock can slide back when we're not wanting to use it. We've got a position there that that will lock in place or we can pull it forward, and lock it in place there. But each of these pins is your standard five eight inch diameter. So it will also work for your other hitch mounted accessories if you're going to be putting your bike racks and that sort of thing in place. So you're going to get one pin for your pintle lock, one pin for your ball mount. There's also a pin here for our support arms, it's holding those in place. These are just going to attach to your vehicle to provide that stability since this is such a long drop. It's going to make sure that it's not swaying side to side and that sort of thing. So you can move this from, depending on which receiver you're needing to use for your vehicle, that can be adjusted, so that it's giving you the support without taking up the whole, or the receiver that you're needing. One thing that's not included is your hitch pin and clip to secure this to your receiver tube on your vehicle. It's just gonna use your standard five eight inch diameter pin, which you probably already have for your hitch. But if not, we do have lots of options available here at etrailer.com. We also have locking pins available that will add a little extra security to make sure, and no one's able to take this off of your vehicle when you're not around. This does meet the SAE J684 Certified Standard, so you can trust it is going to do a good job for you. It is also made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S. And Gen-Y, does have a great reputation for building very robust, beefy, solid pieces. So this is going to be no exception to that. This is gonna hold up well, it'll give you a lot of adjustability for towing different height trailers, different kinds of attachments for your trailer. So, definitely, for those of you who have, like, a higher truck. So your hitch is sitting up pretty high and you're needing to tow lots of different kinds of trailers, or if you're just needing to tow the one trailer with a big drop, this will work out really well for you. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael, with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching!.

One awesome hitch. It works as universal hitch for every height I need on the back of my motor home.

by:

Ordered this for a customer who has used this model previously and liked it so much he wanted another one. The adjustability makes this a go to for lifted vehicles that need to tow different types of items.

by:

Arrived on time as promised! Great service before the sale. Had to pick a different model that was in stock due time frame when I needed the part. Many option were provided by Tiffany J and selection was made. Great buying experience.

Awesome!!!!

I wanted to be able to tow any trailer with a single hitch and that is why I purchased this model. Any size ball and pintle hitch all in one implement is great.... the drawback, this thing weights a lot. I don't like leaving the hitch on the truck if I'm not towing, but this thing is too heavy to move and I'm worried about this much weight bending the toolbox on the truck if I hit a bump.

For measurement purposes... This is a 2000 F-350 4x4 on stock 16" rims and tires and a CM flatbed. I got the 5" drop\rise model and it looks like it is going to be great. In case i need it, I added the 1 7/8" ball to the drawbar. When I can afford to get three matched key pins I will order them.

by:

Overall the hitch is heavy duty and solid. I have ready some reviews about the Pintle option and have used mine for the first time towing an empty trailer. It is showing some wear behind the ball where the wedge is welded. I will try it with a load and see how it holds up.
i hate to give a negative review but for the money it should not have that excessive amount of wear with it’s first use.
I have a curt hitch with the Pintle and it has worked perfectly. I was looking for something that had a better curb appeal with the Gen Y.

by:

Just received my new hitch and my first impressions is that this is a very stout hitch. The hitch is very heavy, so I won’t be taking it off and on much. I’ll leave the stacked receiver on the truck, I had a locking pin to secure it to the truck. I will store the 2-ball mount in the cab for now until I get some locking pins. Don’t want to become a victim of theft! When I obtain the locking pins, I will leave the balls attached. If you want a very stout adjustable hitch, I definitely recommend this Gen-Y hitch. Can’t wait to test it out on the road!

by:

The best hitch you can buy! I run these in my company trucks. Makes connecting to anything we have simple and easy. No searching for lost hitches or figuring out who is using what.

by:

Best hitch on the market . I have them on 33 trucks

by:

best hitch I've owned. I have no doubt it will pull any of our equipment with no problem. odelelia was a big help and so nice when I ordered it a year ago.

by:

Heavy duty, strong and reliable. The black color on the ball scratched off fairly quickly, and the additional length of the hitch may keep some safety chains from reaching the vehicle. These are just things I noticed, but the quality of the hitch is tremendous.

by:

It’s heavy duty. I think it weighs as much as my equalizer hitch. I just got a new truck so we’ll see on a hitch height but on my old truck I wish I’d gotten the hitch with one height up so I had more adjustment and so it’s off hitting the ground. Oh well I tried guessing. I should of listened to the spirit. But a great heavy duty hitch.

by:

Very strong hitch

by:

This is a very functional and versatile hitch. Incidentally, the extended horizontal length allows me to drop my tailgate and not hit my trailer jack. The only theoretical downside is the increased torque on the receiver because of the horizontal extension inherent with the hitch design, as well as the massive weight. these issues do not seem to be functionally relevant however. Pintle may come in handy someday. I would buy again.

by:

We love these hitches so much we’re replacing all we have in the fleet with the Gen-Y. Etrailer’s customer service is the reason we don’t shop anywhere else.

by:

It's a great hitch. Fits our needs. Only negative thing I can say is the paint/coating rubbed off almost immediately after putting it to use so there's a rust ring around it where it meets the receiver.

by:

WOW. That is pretty much the word that sums it up. WOW. Not only because it weighs roughly 60 pounds, but she is pretty to look at to boot. Aside from that - the construction on this thing in a monster. Overbuilt by Hercules to pull down a mountain kind of over built. Exactly how we expect anything truck related to be. You do not want failure at any point, ever. This takes your drop hitch to a whole new level. I have owned B&W and Bulletproof before - and while there is nothing wrong with them - I do not think I will ever use another brand again. This is as good as they come.

by:

I used adjustable ball mount to haul a tow dolly and also carry a hitch haul with wood. It worked great.

by:

Another great purchase with etrailer. Fastest shipping and the same price as the lowest competitor.

by:

I just installed the Gen-Y and its way better than my last one (much more stout). I put it on a 2011 f350 with a leveling kit on 35s and Im defiantly glad that I got one with the 7 inch drop. Im also going to be putting it on a Kubota M-120 to pull a 12ft box scraper.

by:

Arrived on time and as specified.

by:

Tow hitch is 100% expensive but towing my trailers has been so smooth it’s defiantly good quality and worth what you pay , defiantly recommend buying a $10-$20 lock so nobody steals it off your truck though!

by:

Bought this product from etrailer and was amazed at the high level of customer service and knowledge. The product arrived ahead of schedule and was packaged well. This product is made well and I’m glad it’s a product of the USA.

by:

No doubt it's "mega duty". Thing weighs 54 lbs. I don't know if its worth the money but I'd say its probably the best hitch you could get!

by:

After two failed attempts and three weeks lost trying to buy same hitch on [online] n, same hitch from etrailer was ordered on Thursday and delivered on Saturday. Same hitch same price. The status updates were clear, uo to minute and never once saw a "lost in transit" once. `The hitch itself was a snug fit on my ram 2500 and I guess that's not a bad thing but its in and I have no doubts it will do the job.

  • Bike Rack and Cargo Carrier Recommendation for Trailer Hitch
First issue is that the # 325-GH-328 can only be used in the drop position per the manufacturers requirements, but I have a better solution that allows you to carry a bike rack and a cargo carrier that I think you'll really like. Check out the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Platform 2 Bike Rack w/Cargo Carrier # HR1450Z-85. This is a bike rack that comes with a cargo carrier that you can attach to the rear of it so that you can carry your bikes as well as cargo in the carrier as needed....

  • Recommended Adjustable Ball Mount With Large Drop For 2007 Ford Van
For your application, I recommend an adjustable ball mount with a large drop like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 15" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-317. The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 17-1/2" Drop # 325-GH-328 is the deepest drop we have available. The hi-low adapter Blue Ox High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 7" Rise/Drop - 12" Long, # BX88241, is for flat towing use only. It cannot be used to pull a trailer.

  • Measuring Ball Mount for Deep Drop Needed to Tow Trailer Level
The frustration is in where you are measuring. The measurement is from the top of the shank othe the bottom of the ball platform. This is what will get you the correct ball height because the coupler will sit over the hitch ball. So if you are measuring your trailer coupler when level, then you measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground and then from the ground to the inside top of your receiver opening on your trailer hitch to get the proper drop. This is how all manufacturers...
