This unique adjustable ball mount from Gen-Y Hitch has a vertical shank that is made up of 5 stacked 2" receivers that can accept almost any hitch-mounted accessory. This lets you easily adjust the height of the included ball mount, or any other accessory you choose to use. This mount also has built-in shock absorption to ensure a safe, smooth towing experience. Using technology similar to that found in torsion trailer axles, the Gen-Y mount absorbs road shock, isolating any rough jarring or chucking at the connection point. This prevents the rough motion from transferring from the vehicle to the trailer and vice versa.

Built-In Shock Absorption for a Smooth Ride

Driving over bumps, potholes, and uneven terrain causes road shock, which can result in a rough, bumpy ride and even potentially damage your vehicle or trailer. This Gen-Y Hitch torsion mount is designed to absorb road shock at the connection point to create a safe, smooth ride. This is thanks to the internal construction of the mount, which is similar to that of a torsion axle.

torsion w/cutaway

Pivot points are built into the Gen-Y mount. This allows for movement between the base, which slides into your vehicle's trailer hitch, and the stacked receivers, which provide the connection point for your trailer. When your trailer hits a bump, the stacked receiver portion of the mount will move up or down accordingly.

torsion diagram

Built into the Gen-Y mount are tubes with inner bars that are surrounded by rubber cords. As the receivers rise or fall, these inner bars twist inside of the tubes, attempting to follow the receivers' motion. But the rubber cords prevent the bars from twisting too far. And as each bar turns, these cords compress to absorb the shock. This means that any shock experienced by your truck can be absorbed before it reaches your trailer, and the shock experienced by your trailer won't get transferred to your truck.

This type of shock-absorption system is easy to maintain. Just regularly apply grease to the built-in zerks to keep the components in working condition. No airbags to fill. No small parts to repair or replace. No hassle.

Multiple Stacked Receivers for Easy Adjustment

stacked receivers

This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 5 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.

pintle hitch

Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.

With the 5 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover.

Easily Check Your Tongue Weight

scale

This mount features a built-in mechanical tongue weight scale. The red section on the top of the scale indicates your maximum tongue weight (1,100 lbs). The red section on the bottom of the scale indicates no tongue weight (0 lbs). A tongue weight of at least 400 lbs is recommended for the built-in shock absorption to function effectively. This means that the scale's white indicator marker should be in the green section when you hook up your trailer to tow.

Video Transcript for Review of Gen-Y Hitch Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - 2 Ball Torsion Stacked Receivers - 325-GH-1025

Hi everybody, Andy here with the trailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount with stacked receivers. This shock absorbing adjustable ball mount is going to slide into your two inch trailer hitch receiver and it's going to give you five stacked two inch receivers. So, you can hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle with the included two inch or two and 5/16ths inch hitch ball or you can tow a trailer that has a lunette ring on it using the larger two and 5/16ths inch ball paired with the included pintle lock. Let me give you a brief demonstration of how you can use this pintle lock. So, again, you're going to want to use the larger two and 5/16ths inch hitch ball. And then, after you place your ring over this ball, you're going to remove your clip and then your pin and then that's going to allow you to slide that lock out and then you'll just replace the pin and the clip and so you won't have to worry about that lunette ring coming off because of that pintle lock.

And then, when you're ready stow it just remove the clip and the pin again and you can slide that back into the stowed position, so it's out of your way. And then, I'm just gonna go ahead and replace the clip. So, this is going to be very easy to use and what's nice is the pintle lock will, is also adjustable, so wherever you need this ball set at, the pintle lock will also be able to be adjusted up and down these receivers. Now, these five stacked two inch receivers are obviously gonna let you adjust the height of the included ball mount or any other accessory you choose to use. So, you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle.

The included aluminum pin and clips are obviously going to secure the ball attachment and the pintle lock and the accessory pinhole diameter is 5/8ths of an inch. And these pins are going to slide very easily through these accessory holes. So, you're not gonna have to worry about struggling with these. There's no resistance. They're going to slide through those holes without any problem whatsoever.

And if I didn't mention already, the accessory pinhole diameter is 5/8ths of an inch. So, currently I have this in the drop position and this provides a maximum drop of about seven and a half inches and then a maximum rise when you flip this over of about seven and a half inches. The gross towing weight with both of these balls is 10,000 pounds. The tongue weight is 400 pounds to 1100 pounds and the reason for that range is because of our shock absorbing design. Now, the shock absorbing design functions very similar to a torsion axle.

Built into the Gen-Y mount are tubes with inner bars, as you can see right here. I've got a cutaway here just to kind of demonstrate what's going on there. So, these tubes with the inner bars are surrounded by these rubber cords and as the receivers rise and fall these inner bars twist inside of the tubes, attempting to follow the motion of the vertical shank, but these rubber cords are going to prevent the bars from twisting too far. As each bar turns, these cords compress to absorb the shock. So, what that means for you is that any shock experienced by your truck can be absorbed before it reaches your trailer and the shock experienced by your trailer won't get transferred to your truck. This type of shock absorption system is very easy to maintain. And let me give you an overhead view here real quick. Just line this up here and show you the zerk that we have, one of the zerks that we have here. You're just going to regularly apply grease to the built-in zerks to keep the components in working order, no airbags to fill, no small parts to repair or replace, ultimately no hassle. Now, while we're here, I do want to show you the pin weight scale that we have right here. This is going to help you make sure that the trailer weight is balanced properly. This white mark will line up with the green portion of the sticker when it's properly balanced, so that you're not exceeding your tongue weight or don't have enough tongue weight. It's on the red because we don't have any weight on there. So, having that tongue weight scale built-in is going to give you a reference point to make sure that your trailer is properly loaded. Now, this has a 5/8ths of an inch in diameter pinholes, two 5/8ths of an inch in diameter pinholes, and the hitch pin and clips are not included, but you probably already have one for your hitch, but if not, we do have lots of options available here at etrailer.com. We also have some locking pins that could be purchased to secure your investment. I would recommend taking a look at our locking pin options because really this is an investment that you are making and I think it would be a great idea to consider securing this to the back of your vehicle, so you don't have to worry about somebody walking off with your investment. Just some measurements that might prove helpful for you. From the center of the first hitch, the first pinhole to the center of our hitch ball, we're sitting at right about 16 inches. And then, from the center of our second pinhole to the center of our hitch ball, we're sitting at about 17 inches. The overall height is about 13 inches and this is made here in the USA of a heavy duty steel construction with this really great zinc primer and epoxy powder coat to help resist rust and corrosion. By the way, as you might know, Gen-Y really does have a great reputation for building very solid, very robust products and this is definitely no exception to that. This weighs about 76 pounds. So, keep that in mind. This is very heavy duty. I needed help putting it on my table. I'm not a strong guy, so just keep that in mind, that you might need some help putting this in your hitch receiver on the back of your vehicle. So, again, it's going to be a very heavy duty item for you. This is SAE J684 certified. And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I did my research before ordering. I know exactly what I need and want. My boat trailer tongue weight is 750lbs so I went with the Gen-Y Torsion Flex 2" Hitch - 7.5" Drop/Rise 10k. (Works Best with 400-1,000lbs tongue weight). Also got the BEST price due to their 110% Price Match Guarantee.

by:

It was well packaged shipping was great received it within a week installation was easy weighing only 73 pounds. It does affect the center back up sensors on a 2022 , 3500 long bed ram pick up.

by:

Upgraded to the gen y torsion from my stander gen y adjusted one smother riding

by:

This is one of the greatest products ever made! I cannot feel the trailer bouncing up and down every time I hit a bump on the highway while trailering my boat. Yes the hitch is heavy but that is also the reason why it works so well. My only suggestion would be that with the 10K pound hitch there needs to be a 2.5 inch receiver not a 2 since all 2500 trucks now are using the 2.5 receiver.

by:

This hitch helps a lot with the jerk caused by a bumper pull trailer. There is still some backlash between the pickup and trailer but I've excepted that you are going to have that with a bumper pull trailer. Thanks

by:

I just received the hitch and installed it but have not had a chance to pull with it. It appears to be very well made and is a heavy hitch at 118lbs. I have a 45ft coach and pull a 16k stacker trailer so will see how it does. Will update in a couple of weeks.

by:

This hitch is amazing!!! Be prepared though it is very heavy! I love how easy it is to adjust to different heights and ball sizes with the 2 common sizes provided. The scale on the back can be helpful to let you know if you have the proper trailer weight. The more you use it the more you will like it!

by:

I pull a 22k stacker trailer with about 3000lb of tongue weight with a class A pusher with a custom receiver hitch that I had built for it. Decided to try the gen y after talking with someone else who swore by it. After driving cross country I can say it improved the ride quality dramatically. Worth every penny

by:

Love the height adjustment for all 3 of my trailers suuper solid, I get compliments all the time when people see it "wow that things stout!" Keeps the trailer tongue from excessive bobbing, the pins it came with are a huge improvement from the standard Bobby pin style I was used to. Over all I do not regret a dollar spent and would highly recommend to anyone looking for an initial purchase or upgrade their tow life

by:

THis is our second Boss hitch they are wonderful and function just as designed to smooth out the impacts between the truck and rig. Had a slight issue with the first delivery but E-Trailer replaced it no questions asked and two days later the new one showed up and the UPS driver took away the first. Great customer service which is very rare these dasys.

by:

Extremely well built and pulls the trailer amazingly but is extremely heavy

by:

Hugh difference pulling my 24ft bumper pull deck over. Ride is much smoother with a lot less energy transfer between truck and trailer.

by:

I love this heavy duty--emphasis on HEAVY--hitch! I barely felt my trailer on my truck while driving it was so smooth! The only drawback is how heavy it is... It is a bit of a feat for me to lift and insert then remove this hitch at the end of a race weekend--but I feel it is well worth it!

by:

After using this for 100 miles, I ordered another one for my other truck. Heavy and well built, you might not want to take it on and off frequently. Definitely makes towing more comfortable, not in the cab but for the trailer and its' cargo, too. I highly recommend this for anyone pulling a trailer.

by:

Perfect, my second GenY Torsion hitch. Upgrading to the 21K from the 16K. There's not even a close second.

by:

Having the built in tongue weight indicator is a true benefit. The torsion movement of the receiver absorbs harsh hi-way road conditions.
I had no problems pulling 10,000 plus miles, with trailers weighting #8,000 to #1000. Would highly recommend this receiver.

by:

Fantastic heavy duty hitch.

by:

I have yet to tow with this hitch because I just received it today. Upon receiving the box I knew this hitch was not for the faint of heart. It felt like a massive hitch weighing in at 118lbs. Taking it out of the box I could see that this hitch is built like a beast and will likely be more hitch than I will ever need, but I needed a drop hitch and after asking etrailer questions and doing my own extensive research, I decided this was the hitch I should buy. I like the fact that it will give a little more space between the trailer and the truck, it can be used as a pintle setup if the need arises, and it comes with two ball sizes. Using this for my enclosed landscape trailer I am hoping it extends the life of tires and suspension components. I will try and update in the future after towing with this hitch.

by:

Heavy duty hitch for sure, can’t wait to start using it. Customer service was excellent, very fast shipping.

by:

The hitch works great and helps to smooth out the ride when towing heavy loads.

by:

Best hitch iv come across makes a world of a difference

by:

Great hitch, I have worked it pretty hard, and had no issues so far.

by:

Haven't used it yet, but it sure looks very promising for my 21000lb trailer.
Like the fact that it's torsion, has weight reader (safe or unsafe) and it also extends my trailer far enough from tailgate to where it doesn't hit it.

by:

I've several trips lately that involved towing, used a friend of mine's 21K torsion and loved it so, I bought my own. Mine is a 16K but plenty of beef for what I tow. Thank you again, made in America and was delivered extremely quick. Best product I've ever seen for towing especially bumper pull. I'm telling all my friends who have trucks and bumper pull.
