Tow up to 12,000 lbs safely and conveniently, and get up to a 6-1/4" drop or a 7-7/8" rise with this MaxxTow ball mount system. Turn the ball mount over to select a drop or a rise. After the ball mount has been installed on your vehicle, just pull the included pins to adjust the ball platform up or down or to flip the ball platform between the 2" or 2-5/16" hitch balls as needed. Replace the pins, and you're ready to tow. The ball mount fits 2" square trailer hitches and is a great solution for those who tow several different trailers.

Keeping your trailer level with your tow vehicle makes it easier and safer to tow. If your trailer is more than 2" nose up, it may sway while being towed - increasing tire wear and making your ride less comfortable. Lots of sway makes it harder to drive your vehicle. If the trailer is more than 2" nose down, the load may put too much weight on the hitch and tow vehicle, exceeding the weight limit for both. This puts stress on the connection between your trailer and hitch and may not leave enough weight on your front wheels, affecting your ability to steer and brake properly. An adjustable ball mount system makes it easy to keep whatever you tow as level as possible.

This hitch is built heavy way better then i expected. Price was great for a good heavy hitch

by:

Product seems heavy duty. Haven’t towed enclosed trailer as of yet. Price was very affordable for adjustable ball mount.

Recently bought new super duty need 2.5 receiver ball mount. Gotta check amount needed.

by:

Very satisfied. Product finish has held up well. Used to tow 8000 lb. boat and trailer 2800 miles round trip Price was good as well. Was very easy to make adjustments for use on other trailers. No complaints about this purchase.

Am generally happy with it but still think it it is rusting more than it should. I would suggest that if a person buys this it should pay be stored inside vehicle during days of non use.

by:

Doesn't fit my tongue. The space between the ball and the U-shaped black flange with holes in it isn't large enough. The tongue gets wedged. I need something that has more room for the tongue around the ball.

Also, I've had it 3 weeks stored in its box inside and it's starting to rust. Welds look good.

I would like to see if I can help you ball mount. To be honest, having the coupler not fit between the ball and the ball mount is unusual. What is the model number of your coupler? Would you be able to send a picture? How much more wiggle room do you need?

by:

This hitch is solid - I drive a Chevy 1500 and tow a 26ft boat with this. The boat has alot of forward weight and my truck rode to low in the back for my liking. That is no longer an issue with this hitch. It is built well and I can see myself using this for a long time to come.

by:

Great product but will not work with a v-lock or slide lock trailer...the ones with the v shape..once it's hooked up and you turn it will bend the receiver or pins pretty bad due to distance between trailer and receiver arm Just have to ensure you use it on the rounded tongue connections on a trailer.

by:

Heavy duty, very nice. Pulled a 2500 Diesel in a 24' cargo trailer 700+ miles without any problems. Other products similar to this I've used in the past had what felt like alot of play between the ball and pins but this product had very little to no play which made for a smooth less tense haul.

by:

The hitch has worked flawlessly pulling our 9000 lb camper. The adjustable height feature allows me to quickly Convert over to tow my 18' dovetail trailer and backhoe to a jobsite. Excellent products, best prices and customer service was excellent as well. A+ From me. I will be back when I need something.

by:

This adjustable trailer hitch is solid and heavy duty. I haven't used it yet on a trailer, but it does appear to have a little slop in the reversible ball. The cotter pins seem way too long for this hitch, but are of good quality. I would definitely recommend this to others.

by:

I've been doing with this hitch for a year, works great and does exactly what it's supposed to for less than half of the price of the competitors. I would definitely recommend this hitch.

Great Value

by:

I love the hitch! Really like the strength and durability at such a low cost. Very strong design! Great for anyone who needs a drop hitch. I would recommend buying this for ant

by:

You guys are tops! This is exactly what I need.

Order came in 3 days. I will be back for sure.

I took a picture of the ball mount on the back of my F-150. It is to haul about 4 tons and I do not have to screw around with different mounts with different rises/drops.

I am ready to roll. Thank you.

Great price and shipping for a quality maxx adjustable drop hitch.

My first ball mount purchase, ever. Knew I wanted high-capacity, an affordable price, and -since I would be towing with differing loads in both tow vehicle (a van) and trailer- I required an adjustable height range. This MaxxTow ball mount met all three of these needs. I have since received my purchase from etrailer.com (in good time!) and found the item to be as described and pictured. NOTE: some customer comments have mentioned loose tolerances on these ball mounts. I understand that possibility, though the product I received has only slight slack in all of the areas including the receiver/shaft fit, the fore/aft play amongst the adjusting pins, and the side-to-side movement between the balls and mounting rack it sits between. It may be that these tolerances have improved due to manufacturing tweaks; it may be that my being a novice tower leaves me more easily pleased. I'll simply end with this: since I've only used this item once thusfar (for 5,500 lbs. over 20 miles), so long as the steel and welds hold up (as they appear that they would), this product seems a fine thing to have for many uses. I am glad that I found and bought it -especially through etrailer.com. Thanks, guys.

I have since used this product coupled to my Draw-Tite Ultra Frame 10K cap.1.5k tongue to pull my Car-Hauler-to-Toy-Hauler Camper conversion 650 miles. With my little car within, it was a full 10,000 lb. package. Worked as it should. Nice and level tow. No issues found.

MaxxTow Adjustable 2 ball mt hitch. First, let me say that the ball hit and the hitch locks were delayed in shipping due to production delays. I want to thank Pat C. in customer service for providing me a running account of when the product was made and shipped right up to delivery of the hitch. Thank you Pat. Now for the hitch, the pricing of the hitch is very fair. Compared to comparable hitches, I saved at least 50$ on the hitch with no apparent downgrade in the equipment.
So I got the hitch well-packaged. Everything was included that i had ordered. Next was the product to truck install. That went easy. Fit and finish was good for a Chinese made product and they certainly didn't skimp on the steel. The ball mount looks classy and it looks like it will be rugged and dependable. I guess we won't know until it is put to the test. That will be happening soon. I expect it will perform as other reviewers had indicated.

Follow-up review. Still An EXCELLENT product. No apparent problems and the hitch still looks good. Thanks.

by:

Does what it supposed to do

by:

The trailer hitch receiver, mount and ball assembly were all received in good condition and earlier than anticipated. There are multiple videos available on line for the installation so the directions were not critical for installing and this review. Every item in the package is heavy duty & of high quality and installed easily and exactly as expected. The assembly will be used to tow a 400 lb 5 x 7 trailer. I cannot comment on towing performance yet but I expect it will be very satisfactory. I am very satisfied and would use etrailer again for future purchases.

Excellent! No problems, no negative issues or concerns.

by:

Best place to buy trailer stuff!

by:

Heavy duty, easy to adjust, very adaptable up or down and b/w ball sizes. Pins are a little smaller than holes so balls are not super snug in the mount. I tow a 6000lb cargo trailer and it doesn't bother me much, but you do get some rattle. You could fit some tighter pins in there probably.... I would by another one.

Josh

6/15/2019

It’s still rattles and clanks every time you stop, which has become increasingly more annoying with heavier trailers 8-10k when you need the stability. Need to find a bushing or something for the oversized holes. I wouldn’t use this hitch for a summer road trip, or in the snow, but good for local work.

by:

Pulls straight down the road. Hangs a little low for my truck (stock height 3500 dually) but allows my to match trailer height with any of my trailers, and is rated quite high for towing. Heavy and solid. The wobble shown in the video exists in mine, but I dont hear it rattle when on the road, so it doesnt bother me. Easy to change positions. The only draw back I have had was when reversing over a curb it drops low enough to gouge the ground and fills the channel with dirt. Should not be a problem on a lifted truck though, and is not a problem as long as I stay on the road.

David

4/8/2020

Its been great for my Chevy 3500 van and my Yukon XL as well. No problems with either, on cross country tows, up to 10k, put at least 3k-4k miles on it, no issues so far.

by:

All (4) trailers that I pull are equipped with Bulldog coupler's and the tip of the coupler rubs the "C" channel on the hitch when making turns. Basically, the ball is not spaced far enough away from the "C" channel. Also, the shaft is solid steel, not a tube which makes it very heavy.

For an adjustable ball mount that offers more clearance between the hitch ball and the channel adjustment, I recommend the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount, part # MD206. This hitch offers 1-7/8 inches of clearance between the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball and channel, compared to the 1-3/16 inches of clearance between the same size hitch ball and channel with the MaxxTow Adjustable Ball Mount.

by:

Have used this for a year. Works well in my situation. If you have a high trailer mount this is the ticket to get it down to a more level plane, or if you have multiple types of trailers, this should accommodate most of them, if not all. Should also work well for low trailer hook ups as all you have to do is turn it over. Strong and sturdy enough to survive the harshest treatment.

Geno

3/27/2018

Its solid steel. Only thing that could possibly happen to it is Superman bending it up, which of course has not happened.

by:

Product shipped and delivered within 2 days of my order. Really good value compared to the pricier hitches out there. Pins are a little long, but that’s an easy gripe to overcome. It’s definitely a heavy duty hitch with good strong welds. Easily handled my 10k cargo trailer.

Milton

10/7/2019

Still using it and it hasn’t failed at all! Great product and will definitely be one of the last hitches I ever buy.

by:

Very strong great welds holds everything hooked to it. Two small issues. Chrome ball assembly rusts uncontrollably. Ball is located too close to upright u channel with adjustment holes. Had to grind back edge of upright to allow coupler to seat and rotate. One thousand towing miles and no signs of wear.

Mark I.

4/3/2021

Ball chrome is almost totally gone even with monthly efforts to polish. May have to send it out and have it powdercoated.

  • Pulling 1969 Shasta Starflyte With A 2019 GMC Canyon - What Ball Mount Do I Need?
I can certainly point you in the right direction. Unfortunately they do not list the coupler height of your trailer online. The hitch on your 2019 GMC Canyon should be right at 19" provided everything is stock. Most trailers have a coupler height around 17", so a 2" drop ball mount like the # 80232 should get you pretty close to level. The best way is to go to the trailer, and with the trailer sitting level, measure from the center of the coupler to the ground. While we do want to be perfectly...

  • In Need Of A 2-5/16" Hitch Ball For A 2006 Toyota Tundra
I can certainly point you in the right direction. Firstly, we suggest checking your owners manual and verifying that you can tow 6,000 lbs with your truck. If it is able to tow 6K or more then we can set you up. If you do not have a factory hitch, you can use the Curt class 3 hitch # C13180. This hitch can tow up to 6,000 lbs, so just enough for your horse trailer. As far as a ball mount and 2-5/16" ball I recommend using an adjustable ball mount like the bulletproof hitch # MD206. All of our dual ball mounts come with either 1-7/8"/2" hitch balls or 2"/2-5/16" hitch balls which are just standard sizes - I have yet to come across one on our site or elsewhere that has multiple of the same hitch ball size in the same kit. Since you're needing to tow trailers with 2 different heights I recommend checking out the Flint Hill Goods Adjustable Steel Ball Mount Kit # FHG79ZR instead. This comes with 2"/2-5/16" hitch balls but the height is easily adjustable so you can ensure...
