Diagram

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

My run-of-the-mill utility trailer is now the envy of all my friends. It is customized for my frequent trips to the ATV trails, but the strategically placed tie downs offer flexibility for just about any load I need to haul. Thanks for the honest reviews and great products!

Although I must frequently chip through mud from my ATV, the tie downs still hold tight. I appreciate theyre not rusting despite being installed and used for several years now.

I am very happy with the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchors.

by:

Tie-down is tamped with 1,200Lb rating. I would not suggest that, and have seen similar tie-down listed with a 500Lb rating when installed in other applications. I am replacing mine due to rivets failing on lower side from corrosion/weakness that is prone in this area. The D-ring support strap seems to hold water in cup from drain hole. Web picture does not illustrate this very well, nor is it the exact same receptacle purchased. The receptacles i received are the exact same tie-downs that I’m replacing (see attached picture). Take note that the 2 main bolt holes lengthwise make it prone to tip/twist with side loads applied under stress. Use caution for heavier tugging loads on this type of tie-down.

Good price for a "light duty tie-down".

Easy installation, 3" hole drilled! I had my brother in law make some backing plates that I painted. These will work great to hold our ATV's down!

Used some 5/16" stainless bolts with nylock stainless nuts and zink coated washers to complete. I may end up bolting the middle as well, but I figured I would keep that open for water drainage.

I transport motorcycles on my 30' flatbed trailer and use these to secure them to the deck. They recess into the wood deck easily which keeps you from tripping on them when walking on the deck. Many times I will have 3 or 4 tie-downs attached to them from different angles and they hold together just fine. The D-Rings are large enough to handle multiple hooks, and strong enough to stay attached to the remaining bracket. The "hot ticket" for recessed attachment!

Overall, theyve worked out pretty well, however, Ive had 1 of 2 where the D-ring has pulled out of the base plate, probably due to being over-stressed from multiple hooks pulling on it beyond its ability.

This product was excellent for my application. I did not want to spend a lot more money for extended strength that I did not require. This product was not only strong enough but provided the flush mount that I was wanting. They are installed in my covered snowmobile trailer.

These tie down anchors are still doing the great job that I expected.

by:

The trailer door hinges and latch system have been on my custom trailer for well over a year and a half. They function great and still look like new. Great products and would certainly buy them again. Also the shipment and correctness of the order was perfect. My follow up orders of several accessories were also handled in a totally professional way and the products were equally high quality.

by:

The parts were a perfect match to the original ones. Thank you so much.

by:

This is my second order from ETRAILER.COM. Both transactions went very smooth. They had an odd size axle shaft that I couldn't find locally on my previous order so I tried them again for the tie-downs that I needed. Priced well and shipped fast.
Great Job!

I am rebuilding a trailer that was built at home with my dad and brother who have now passed. I am dedicated to do the very best on this 42 year old trailer and choosing etrailer has been a great asset. All the products are exelent quality, the prices are fair, the delivery was very fast and well packaged. My project is almost finished and the strong old trailer is better than ever. Thanks for your help etrailer. Vince in MO

by:

Fit perfect. Replacing the old ones in my Hallmark snowmobile trailer. Can not for the life of me understand why a manufacturer uses zinc coated tie downs but they did. Wish this maker would make these out of stainless steel. Oh well, these should last just as long as the OE ONES. LOOKS TO BE THE SAME MAKER. Note to anyone buying or looking for a snowmobile trailer. Pay the extra $ for the stainless option for outside latches and fasteners. Well worth the $ money for all the salt and crap the trailers go through.

by:

The tie downs have performed as expected. Because they are flush mount installation was somewhat more difficult than surface mount would have been but worth the effort. I can transport flat sheets without damage. Loading is also a snap. Nobody should be disapointed with purchase of these.

by:

During the process of rebuilding a small ATV trailer,I wanted to add a few more tie-downs than it originally came with. These ended up being a perfect match to what it had. And for the price I decided to not just add the 4 more, but to replace the original 4 as well so they all looked good.

by:

Still going strong. Used for indoor box trailer. No rust out over used rivet attachment

by:

Had trouble getting a forstner bit that big to not "walk" on me. Ended up using a hole saw and going all the way through and then reinforcing with steel underneath.

by:

There are a few different manufacturers of this style rope ring. I purchased this one because the metal strip that retains the D-ring extends to the mounting holes so it isn't completely relying on the rivets for strength. This part is built poorly with cheap stampings. The D-ring hangs up in the pocket and will not freely fall flat when not it use. It binds and protrudes from the pocket unless messed with to get it to lay flat.

by:

Fit like should thank you thank you for the email I found them in a shrub next to the mailbox

by:

Received tie downs , will work great in my enclosed trailer, great service

by:

Great product at a great price and it got here quick! Whats not to love about that!? Well done etrailer.com!

by:

Excellent customer services and a delivery service that is top notch. I will definitely continue to order all my Trailer needs from etrailer.

by:

best part for my trailer, very solid , easy to install bought 5 more thanks

by:

Will have to use 3" hole saw to flush mount.

by:

Great price point. Had a higher load rating than the ones they were replacing.

by:

Anchors were exactly what I needed for my trailer. Thank you!

by:

A great floor anchor.

  • Is the D-Ring of the RR01-C Welded Behind Bracket that Secures it to Base
It sounds like you are asking if the portion of the D-ring on the part # RR01-C that is behind the bracket that secures it is welded or not. The answer to this question is no they are not.

  • Choosing D-Ring Cargo Tie Downs for Toy Hauler Trailer
We offer D-ring tie down products with working load limit (WLL) ratings from 330-lbs, as with the Brophy # SR10-C, up to more than 15,500-lbs, as with the weld-on Curt D-ring # C83780. The Brophy D-ring # RR01-C you referenced has a WLL of 400-lbs, half of what you need to match your other D-ring, if it is indeed rated for 2500-lbs breaking strength. Note that such parts carry two types of ratings, a breaking strength and a working load limit (WLL). Straps and anchors must be selected...

  • D-Ring Recommendation for Trailer for Securing 2004 Honda Sabre
The Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # RR01-C that you referenced has a 400 lb capacity per D-ring. If you used enough of these to match the capacity needed to secure your Honda Sabre and cargo they would work well. If your bike weighs 800 lbs two of these would have enough capacity. Using 4 like you mentioned would be more than enough. For backing plates for this you could also use the # BP12. For sealant to prevent leaks you could also use the part # 0160297. This sealant is designed for...

  • High Capacity D-Ring Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer

  • What To Consider When Picking D-Ring Anchor Locations in an Enclosed Trailer
D-ring placement in your 27 foot trailer would be best determined by considering what will be loaded in the trailer. Without knowing more about what you plan on putting in the trailer it would be hard for me to give you an exact diagram. I believe your best option would be to load your trailer up with what you plan to carry in it and then consider where the best places would be for D-rings like the part # RR01-C to be located to best secure the load. For a backing plate you would want...

  • What is WLL and How Does it Relate to the Brophy Trailer Cargo Control # RR01-C
The working Load Limit (WLL) is the load that can be handled in actual use. For example, if you should encounter a pot hole while underway the actual short-term force presented to the # RR01-C could be many times the WLL, and could approach the maximum capacity. It is not recommended to exceed the WLL in any application. The # RR01-C has a working load limit of 400 lbs and a max load (break strength) of 1,200 lbs. I attached a review video for this product for you to check out as well.

  • Can Trailer D-Ring, # RR01-C Handel Two 200 Pound Loads Pulling in Opposite Directions
Since the load is within the working load limit and minimum breaking strength, it will handle the application that you have described provided that the surface it was mounted to could also handle the load. Since the load is right at the capacity of D-Ring RR01-C, I recommend going with something rated higher for safety. You can use the Recessed Trailer D-Ring Tie Down with Backing Plate, # RR5K.

  • Availability of CR Brophy D-Ring Tie-Down Without Countersunk Holes
Was it the holes themselves you weren't wanting, or the fact that they're countersunk that you don't care for? Brophy doesn't make a similar tie-down anchor without holes, but they do offer some with holes that aren't countersunk like part # RR05 with a 5K max load, or 1600 lb safe working load limit. There's also the # RR06 with a 6K max, 2000 lb safe working load limit. For a more secure installation, there's backing plates available, if you went with the # RR05, you'd use the # BP05...
