Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the buyers products D link mounting bracket. So these are going to be ideal for a new trailer or old trailer. Whether you're just making it a custom tie down point for whatever you may be hauling. My ranger here, I like to tie it down in the center on the front and back.
So that's what I went ahead and did. Just put it in the middle of my trailer. Just to get everything kind of centered and tied down.But if you have a car or even a golf cart, lawn equipment, whatever it is, you can actually place these wherever on your trailer. Just to make a custom fit to whatever you may be hauling. So this is going to be a more heavy duty bracket.
It is going to get you about 8,000 pounds of weight capacity, and also it's going to have a working load limit of 6,130 pounds.It's all made of forge steel. And we're going to have about a five eighths of an inch diameter on this ring here. And it's going to have a width of three inches and a height of three inches. The bracket itself does have four different tie down points. So that's going to spread out all that pole strength, just to make sure it's going to spread all that out.
So you're not going to be pulling your floor up very easily.We are going to have a dimensions of about five and seven, eighths inches by five and seven eighths inches. This is going to be kind of a bigger plate. But that's what gets it that larger weight capacity. And from the bottom of our plate here, to this little ridge where our dealing sits in there. It is going to be about an inch and three quarter inches.So yes, the more heavy duty bracket does stick up a little bit, compared to some of the recessed tie down points.
But it's definitely going to be able to quadruple the capacity of some of these recessed tie down points.I honestly say it's not going to be that big of a deal. That it isn't nice and flush. Because there's no sharp edges here. It really isn't going to damage any of your tires or equipment you may have. So one thing I do like about the buyer's products de-link tie down bracket, is the fact that it's powder-coated. It's going to look nice and it's not going to end up like some of the bare metal ones that we have here. Over time, t's just natural. They're just going to start looking a little bit more worn down.It doesn't really affect the performance of them, but I honestly want my trailer to look as nice as the day that I put it all together. So the hardware is included with the kit. And they are going to be about two and a quarter inches long. So if you have a more thicker floor, you might have to go to the hardware store and pick up some longer bolts.So as you can see here, we really didn't even get to the nylon part of the nut. Just because we do have some two by fours on our floor here. So if that's the same situation you guys have, definitely recommend going ahead and grabbing a little bit longer bolts. Just so you can thread that through and catch them more, a couple more threads.So my opinion if you're building a trailer or replacing the tie down points on your current trailer, I would suggest just kind of over specking everything. Yeah, it's an 8,000 pound tie down point. My side by side probably doesn't need all of that, but I just rather have the more heavy duty stuff on my trailer. Just in case they get in those situations, where I might need it. And they're all really easy to install just four little bolts.So let's just go ahead and do that now. So the first thing we want to do is find the right spot for a new tie down points. And this point, we are actually going to replace our existing tie-downs. So that's the place we're going to put it. We could do this in many different ways. We can get a, maybe like a paint marker and kind of mark these. Make sure we're going to get them drilled out properly. And in the right spot. You can do it that way, or I do is just kind of, center it up the best you can.And just give yourself a little drill mark. Now I can remove this and finish drilling our holes.Go ahead and make sure all the holes line up. Seems good to go. And we're going to take our included hardware, put it down in there. And this little square part here, is going to prevent it from turning. So if you have it where it's just kind of sitting up like this, rotate it down so it sits flush with that plate.So now we can go ahead and put our plate on the back. And we are going to get a nylon lock down with our kit. And just go ahead and thread it on by hand. A couple of turns. And you can either do the brackets this way or this way. I'm just doing it this way, just cause I'm going to connect these two boards of wood. We are going to use a nine sixteenths inch socket, to tighten these down.Well everyone, that's just about it on our buyer's products. The D-ring mounting bracket.

The product is excellent. However, there was a major issue with UPS. I ordered six of these d-rings with mounting brackets. I received parts of three of the six items. The box was dump in my porch by UPS. Half of one side of the box was GONE and the hole had been secured with clear packaging tape. Three of the six d-rings with brackets were missing. All of the three items that arrived were missing various hardware pieces. I called etrailer right away and was blessed to be connect to Allison. She handled the problem magnificently. She send me six additional d-rings with mounting brackets and made arrangements for me to return what was left of my original order. Five stars for eTrailer, 10 stars for Allison and ZERO stars for UPS.
I would give these a 5 but the strap metal is a little too soft if you are mounting these around something. They are larger than I expected but seem like they will do a good job.
These tie-down rings are exactly what I wanted. They are super heavy-duty and should do the job for years to come. I would definitely recommend if you need quality heavy tie-downs.
Added these in the bed of my truck to have hooks and theyre beefy and were easy to install in my truck and the lower plates really beef it up on the underside as well
This is a high quality and very strong tie down bracket. I have ordered these twice. The only reason I can not give it 5 stars is because both shipments were missing some of the mounting hardware due to torn plastic bags that are not strong enough for the heavy brackets. In both shipments, the cardboard shipping boxes were partially torn (again due to the heavy brackets not being packaged very well) allowing loose hardware to fall out. But etrailer was quick to ship replacement hardware both times.
Not wanting to weld on my new trailer, I purchased these instead. Using the included backing plates, you will need a half inch longer bolts to go through a 2x6 floor. Installation was very simple. I would have given 5 stars, but had to purchase longer bolts. Overall, a very fine product.
Great product - very heavy duty!
This ring was mounted on the front of my 7x12 trailer, through the wood floor and through the metal frame. I use the ring to pull my 1800 lb stump grinder onto trailer when it broken. I use it a lot and it works perfectly!
Etrailer.com is my number one go to when trailer parts are needed . Also purchased a really nice class IV trailer hitch for my ‘04 Jeep Wrangler. Fit perfect, easy one person install. Works great! If Dena don’t have it, you don’t need it.

The D-rings are great. Super strong and it's nice to have the plate and bolts. The old rings put on this trailer had no plates! no support.
The rings are much bigger than I expected, but will definately hold well
Sturdy construction, but as other reviews have pointed out, the bolts are about 1/2 inch too short. Kind of annoying to have to buy new hardware to make it work. My package was also missing a nut.

The carriage bolt length measures 2 & 14 inches long and the plate with hook itself measures half inch thick. Customer Service will reach out to you about the missing nut.
Mounted on the rear floor edge of my side x side trailer. I have a chain attached to the D Ring & then drops over the trailer ball on my machine. Absolutely no way the machine can go forward in a panic stop situation. Great piece of mind while in motion. I purchased a WLL of three times the weight of the machine. I can always trust E Trailer to have exactly what I need for towing.

Still in service keeping my 1500 lb Honda in place for 2500+ miles.
In my initial review, I gave etrailer a low rating for the transaction. That issue turned out to be a website issue, but the transaction went through as expected. Everything showed up as expected. Definitely will not hesitate to use etrailer again. I give their service 5 stars.
Product review:
Read the other reviews online. You will need to replace some if not all of the carriage bolts with 2.5” bolts. The 2.25” bolts are not long enough going through both metal brackets, and a 2x8 board, which is what the decking in my trailer is. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to install 4 of these. 1 hour of that time was running to the hardware store to buy 16 carriage bolts. The threads just didn’t hit the nylon in the nylock nuts. 4 stars because of that, but it should be a 2 or 3 because there are enough reviews calling out this issue it should be solved by now. Other than that, I am very happy with the product and expect no issues from the tie downs.
Excellent product, I installed 6 of these on my car hauler, four for the cars, and two on the sides for the motorcycles. They are very well constructed, I had to purchase longer bolts since they weren’t long enough for the floor boards. Definitely would recommend, should also get the strap kit etrailer sells, it comes with a very nice zippered bag, you will be all set to haul anything safely.
Very well made, it’s heavy duty. I installed a total of six, four for the cars and two for the motorcycle. I’ve this car hauler trailer for fifteen years, this is the best tie downs that I have installed. I also purchased the ratcheting straps, excellent product, even comes with a nice carry bag.
Bolts that come with it are too short to go thru 1 1/2" treated lumber on trailer floor. Plates are too thick to use with these bolts!

Thank you for your review. The hardware measures 2-14 long and the plate itself measures 12 thick.
Haven't had a chance to install them yet, but they look great. Pleased with the order.
These are great, heavy duty and versatile in setting up my 18 foot car hauler. I have several cars to move from a 66 El Dorado to a 2002 Corvette. Placement will be easy as they are flush mount with backing hardware and rated for more weight than I'll ever need.
Brackets are nice and solid. I would imagine the majority of customers would be attaching these to a solid floor - most likely 2" thick, as shown in the installation video. That being said I would suggest sending 2 1/2" bolts with package as the ones sent are worthless.
The D rings are exactly what I wanted and what I ordered. Unfortunately they are very heavy. They were packed in a very thin cardboard box which was completely destroyed when it was delivered. The D rings were packaged in plastic bags which were all ripped up and 2 nuts and bolts were missing. Considering the way they were packaged and shipped missing 2 sets of bolts is pretty good.
The package arrived this morning in perfect condition. All the trailer parts I ordered were just as I hoped they would be, very heavy duty in perfect condition. I would not hesitate ordering from this company again.
I ordered and received 4 of these Harvey duty D rings. Shipping was quick and I couldn’t be more please with them. They were a little bigger than I expected, but I was totally find with it cause the quality is awesome!! Etrailer sells good quality stuff.
