Zach: Hey guys, Zach here at trailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at a snapper pin. This is going to be a really nice solution if you've lost or misplaced yours, or if your trailer just didn't come with one. This is going to slide in down and latch our coupler on, so we can make sure that's held in place so our coupler doesn't come loose while we're going down the road. It's going to be a really nice safety feature. There's not a whole lot to it.
It's going to have a nice zinc coating on it. It's going to be five sixteenths in diameter, and it has a two and nine sixteenths of usable space. So you want to make sure that's going to work out for you. And I like that this keeper has really nice self tension to it. It's really easy to use and it's going to hold on in place.So I have a little bit of room there with this coupler we have today, and you can see that's not coming undone.
So once we get a nice secure latch onto our ball mount, we know this isn't going to come undone until it's time to take it off. So if you've lost or damaged yours, these things wind up missing all the time. You take it off when you're unhooking your trailer, you leave it on the bumper, drive off. Next time you go to use it, you don't have one. A lot of people don't do it.
It's definitely a good idea to have those in place, instead of trying to find a solution like a stick, I've seen people use or random bolts. This is going to be a really nice, affordable way to go, but that's going to do it for our look at the JR Products, snapper pin.

I love this coupler
I like the 4 bolt system rather than the 2 bolt system because it "mates" the two metal surfaces together better than 2 long bolt design. The way in which its tightened is better. Plus if you have 1 of 4 bolts break you can still safety tow it. If 1 of 2 bolts break you're flirting with disaster. 21k coupler on a 10k trailer. Heavier and better design than my original Made in China coupler.
