Hey, everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Buyers quarter inch safety pin for couplers and pintle mounds. Our Buyers quarter inch safety pin is going to make sure that our coupler stayed in the lock position whenever we're driving down the road. Now there are some other options, such as a lock, but this is going to be a really inexpensive way to make sure that security is there when we're going down the road. Because if the pin wasn't connected, our ball would be connected, but this latch would be jumping around and potentially could come undone.

Having that pin there is really a nice piece of security, because even if it does start jumping around, it's physically impossible to have the handle go through the pin. The pin itself is going to be a quarter inch in diameter, which means it should fit through most coupler latches, and it will have this snap ring to make sure it doesn't come undone.And what I really like is it comes with this eight inch chain. Now I went ahead and used a self-tapping screw and a washer, and attached it to a coupler here. That way I can just let it go. I don't have to worry about it falling down, losing it, or misplacing it because it will always be right by the coupler.

Our Buyer's safety pin isn't even made out of steel, but it does have a zinc coating on it so it should prevent any kind of rust or corrosion from building up. And one thing you do want to keep in mind is the span of the pin is going to be an inch and a half long.And getting your safety pin attached to your trailer is a really easy process. We'll go ahead and do that together now. So we're just going to take our chain, make sure we have enough slack to actually reach where we want to connect our pin. And I like to come back a little bit further away on the tongue of the trailer.

I'm just going to use a self-tapping screw and a washer. Just keep in mind, these aren't going to come with the pin. Now we don't have to worry about losing that pin even when we unhook our trailer.
